Assuming the last giant rat is still scurrying around biting people when Ludolf is up he switches his hex to it and blasts it to oblivion with his gray piercing eyes. Eldritch blast: 18 Force: 12 Necrotic: 4
Pardot stands, clutching his side, and simply says 'ouch' ((8)) as he pulls the arrows out, watching the wounds heal slightly. He then looks to the others, and the sleeping rat man on the ground, grimaces and says, "We should tie him before he awakes."
"Good job Triäsa. Now they seem more peaceful." Ludolfs says as the last rat is evaporated. "I thought I saw stars there for a moment Pardot, the ratman was clearly starstruck." He adds to the halfling, awkwardly making an effort to joke, trying to take a page out of Dav's book, figuratively speaking. He then points to the sleeping giant rat. "There you go Daventry, weapon practice." Assuming there is no shortage of hempen rope to tie up the wererat Ludolf then stands over it and uses his awakened mind to wake it up. "Who are you ratman and why did you attack us?Did someone set you up to do this?"Intimidation: 14 rolled with advantage if help if given by someone looking a bit stern, or by the fact that the wererat is mentally interrogated.
"Tie him up? To what end?" Daventry says. There's frustration in her voice, probably from how the combat went for her. "He's a were. We certainly aren't risking taking him along, lest he slip his bonds and bite one of us and make us like him. And who knows how much evil he's brought to other travelers on the Coast Way?"
She goes to the sleeping rat. "Klin? Help me finish this one off. Then we all put the were out of his misery."
Daventry raises her blade over the rat. She'll wait for Klin to join her, but if he decides not to, she'll strike down at the sleeping creature anyway.
Booming Blade Attack (Against Rat 1, Held for Klin, Advantage against Sleep): 20
Mercifully the rat dies without so much as a whimper. (technically one HP short of actually killing the rat, but I am going to assume you are good enough with a blade to cut a sleeping rat in half....no need to complicate this further.)
Blood pools on the ground around you all as the wererat returns to wakefulness. His features morph, twisting and contorting before your eyes into a wiry, very thin man. He is short maybe four foot ten, no more. He has course black hair and patchy black facial hair that is an odd, poorly groomed length. He appears to be on the verge of death, bloodied and bruised. He spits some blood. "Anyone send me? I am my own master out here trying to scrape together enough coin to stay alive and not starve. If you are going to kill to me just get it over with."
Daventry goes to Klin and the others, speaking quietly. "He's a brigand, and one that's cursed. It's for the best - let's finish him off and be done with it, before he spreads that curse any further."
"You don't present me with much choice wererat. Very well, I believe we can at least offer you a painless death."Ludolfs says grimly to their captive. He then enters Triäsa's mind suggesting she could offer the wererat a song of slumber as an act of mercy, stepping away from the tied up man before she starts singing. Assuming Triäsa obliges the last words the wererat hears is. "There are far worse fates than death." When the lycanthrope is sound asleep Ludolf turns to the others. "Even if this could be seen as an act of mercy it could still scar a soul to take a life in this way." Brief pause. "I should do it. You are all young and yet untainted, I hope it will stay that way." He says looking to the others and then seeking eye contact with Daventry.
Daventry then hears Ludolfs voice, speaking softly and sincerely in her mind.
Believe me, I care for your soul, and I would do anything to save you from the darkness, keeping you in the light of life and goodness.
To Klin, "He tried to murder us in the dead of night, me by bolt and Triasa eaten alive. That speaks enough of his character. And trying to keep a shapeshifter bound is like carrying water with a fork. I'll not risk a bite in the night that turns one of you into a monster. So we end this now. If you won't, then hand me your flail and turn away." There is no hostility in her voice, she speaks matter-of-factly, like a farmer who has to put down a rabid animal.
As you all debate what to do with him the wererat squints his eyes and before any of you know what to do his shape changes to that of a large rat. The rope you tied so neatly falls to the ground harmlessly and the rat starts scurrying off to the brush as fast as it can.
(you each can get one action/attack before he will be lost in the shrubs.)

"There is no escape from death." Ludolf says calmly, waiting for Triäsa's song to stop the flight of the wererat. (Hold action to blast wererat in case he is not put to sleep.)
Triäsa glances over at Ludolf as his voice seems to appear in her mind. She listens to Daventry as well the others as they discuss the fate of the wererat. She stands in place, still holding her lute all the while. Once the wererat transforms and escapes its bonds, she simply says, "No."
She makes no motion to stop the man, now in rat form, from fleeing.
As Triäsa refuses to stop the wererat Ludolf is at first upset, then confused. But then he just turns to her and smiles, warmly, his gray eyes finding hers, saying nothing now.
Daventry uses the rat's momentum against it, stabbing with her blade.

Ludolf's Eldritch blast turns the last awake rat into a fine rat mist as the creature is vaporized by the force.
