Daventry looks like she is about to respond when the dwarf takes his tumble, an explosion of hair, scrolls, and bile. When Ludolf looks back, she's stashed the book back in her pack and moves to the grounded men. She squats down and looks at Klin.
"You alright down there? Not a very good start to yer day. C'mon then, I'll help ya push barleybreath here off."
(OOC: 250 lb dwarf, 300 lb push capability)
Daventry rolls off the dwarf and helps the monk up on his feet. She gives a grimace at his robes. "You might want to find a laundry. Or maybe a cleric."
"Bah, let me help with that." Ludolf says gruffly and flips some pages in his book, points to the monk and then the dwarf, mumbling a few mystic syllables, magically cleaning them both up. (prestidigitation) "That´s better." He says as the stench finally dissapates. "Now what about that book of yours?" He says to Daventry.
Triäsa is a little slow to react, but comes over to where Klin and the dwarf have fallen. She does stay a step back, wrinkling up her nose at the foul fluids.
"I'll help gather up your things, Klin." And she moves - away from the vomit - to pick up any scattered scrolls, books, or papers laying on the ground.
As Daventry pushes him the dwarf slides off Klin landing on the grass next to him now face up making sort a sloshing sound as his gut jiggles back forth before finding an equilibrium. As best Daventry can tell the dwarf is in fact dead.
Perhaps surprisingly the rest of the crowd is paying this little mind the spectacle playing out. As you all look around you notice their attention has been drawn to the gates as a man dressed in immaculate grey robes has arrived at the gates. He is tall over 6 feet with jet black hair parted to the right and neatly groomed goatee. He is wearing round glasses with delicate silver frames. At his side is a much smaller figure wearing a plain grey robe with the hood raised.
“If you’ve come to seek admittance to Candlekeep please approach the gate, state your name and present your tribute.” The bespectacled man says in an unnaturally loud voice. As he finishes speaking four of the travelers line up at the gates and present the man with their book. He glances at each book briefly, asks the traveler their name and the manner of the tome before passing the book to the smaller hooded figure on his right.
Triäsa looks up a bit anxiously as she sees the grey robed people come out. She hands whatever items she recovered to Klin. "Do you have your book? Looks like it's time!"
She straightens, then pauses to glance at the dwarf. "Is the dwarf ok? Maybe we can get someone from Candlekeep to help him? They're starting to let people in."
Looking a bit anxious, and torn between staying to help and going, Triäsa finally decided to head towards the entrance.
Ludolfs attention turns fullly to the bespectacled man, his hands feverishly checking on his volumes. What was that? Nervousness? No, surely not, feelings where just chemical imbalances within a weak mind.
Ludolf enters the dwarfs narrow mind (Awakened mind) and shouts. "WAKE UP DWARF, SOME CRAZY WOMAN IS STEALING YOUR BOOKS!"
Your words seem to have no effect on the Dwarf you get the impression that in his current condition is he is not able to understand any language at all.

Daventry looks around, eyebrow cocked as the rest of the crowd seems focused on the monks instead. "Ain't no one seem to care about your situation, friend." she says to the expired dwarf. "Sorry for that, though a bit of curiosity drives me. What gift to the Keep had you convinced this trip was worth it?"
She gingerly looks through the dwarf's possessions, seeking his "classic" book. She's not being rough or disrespectful as she does so.
As Triäsa approaches the entrance, she shifts her pack so she can draw her book out. She then approaches the monks.
"I am here seeking entrance to Candlekeep. But there is a dwarf over there..." She points back to where the dwarf is laying, along with the others tending to him. "He doesn't look good. Perhaps you could offer him some aid?"
Though asking for help for the dwarf, she has her book, carefully wrapped in leather, at the ready.
Ludolf -- You look the dwarf over trying to see if his chest is rising or if there are any signs of life but you don't notice any. You do notice he is very fat and it does not appear that he has bathed in a very very long time.
Daventry -- As you look through his possessions you note he has very little of actual value, no gold or items outside of flask and a single book that was safely wrapped and kept inside his ragged coat pocket. It is a small book only about 200 pages long entitled, "Dances with Dwarves" by Kev Cosner a quick flip through it reveals it as a romance novel between a dwarven solider and a kobold. As you are picking through his pockets you also happen notice his chest is indeed rising, perhaps it is a miracle as the dwarf appears to live!
Triasa:
The taller monk in grey robes looks at where you are pointing and lets out a long sigh, "Oh for the love of the Gods it's a bit early for even ol' Bottlegut to be passed out... I am sure he is fine no doubt someone got his blood boiling and he went down like a pile of books. I will send someone from the temple to make sure he does not choke on his own vomit... At least I don't have to hear about whatever common romance 'novel' he brought this time..." He waves to someone in the distance who slowly starts making their way toward the gate. "But you say you brought a book give it here then perhaps you will have something of more value than the dwarf..." He will hold his hand and take your book and if you have nothing further to add he will pass it off after lightly thumbing through it. He then looks past you and says, "Next please"
"Hah! I think I read that one as a lass. What a lark." Daventry is about to take the book when she sees his chest move. "So, down but not out, huh? Perhaps you're just needin' a nap, is all." Knowing what to do with a drunk, and having been one herself plenty of times, she moves to rotate him onto to his side.
Triäsa hands over the book, saying "It is called 'Defense and Security of Interplanar Rifts' by Ysildea Galadon."
As the man seems to already be moving on her words become more hurried. "Much of it comes from original research. She proposes and provides evidence for a couple of new arcane theories in it. It's surely something new..."
Her words trail off as the man clearly has now moved on. "It really would be a new addition for the Candlekeep Library. "
She finished, speaking basically to herself. Triäsa seems a bit perturbed by his lack of acknowledgment. But a moment later a smile returns to her face and she returns to where the dwarf fell.
"No surprise, they seem to know the dwarf. They will send someone over. Is he... dead?"
Daventry looks up to Triäsa, wiping dwarf-grease off her gauntlets and onto the grass. "Nah. Think's he's just a run-of-the-mill drunk with a delightfully trashy taste in romance novels."

"Don´t mention it monk." Ludolf gruffly comments on Klin´s apparent lack of appreciation over being free from vomit.
Daventry brushes off her hands, shrugs, and pokes the dwarf with the tip of her boot. "Oy, you alive, barleybreath?"
