Your wishes are carried away on the dandelion seeds that swim through the air, dispersing to realms beyond your knowledge. The moment passes, and all at once you are aware of the happy times of the calliope, the chatter and laughter of the crowd, the lights and sights of revelry around you.
Viola resist the urge to smile as she goes on trying to comfort the crying harengon, giving him a warm hug now. "There, there my friend, it'll be over soon, and then we'll find you a nice baloon." Viola then turns her face to Bramble. "This carneval has only tríckery in store, be careful, my friend, what you wish for." She rhymes with half a smile.
When Pal is comforted Viola turns to Davis. "Well my friend, the the choice is hard, but let's all visit the Feasting orchard."
Music and mirth radiate from this park. The heady scents of flowers, mead, and berry pie waft through the air. Stilt-walkers pluck fruit from trees; musicians drum, pipe, and strum; and everywhere there is singing, dancing, and an inordinate amount of custard.
It appears that a cake eating contest is being organized. Those who want to participate pay 1 ticket punch to enter. The contest table is piled high with small, glazed, custard-filled cupcakes. The winner is the one who can eat the most in 60 seconds.
Rules:
A contestant can swallow a cupcake in about 3 seconds and safely eat as many cupcakes as 3 + constitution modifier. For each additional cake eaten, the contestant must succeed on a DC 10 constitution saving throw or take 1d8 custard damage. Subtract custard damage from the contestant's HP as normal. Any contestant reduced to 0 HP by custard damage is unable to continue and has custard splattered all over them. At the end of the contest, all contestants regain the HP they lost from taking custard damage.
Those who wish to enter will pay a ticket punch, and then indicate how many cupcakes they can safely eat (3 + con modifier), and then (in the interest of time) roll 10 constitution saving throws at once. I'll roll the custard damage, if needed. We will then tally up where we stand and proceed from there.
Pal stops crying soon after Viola hugs him and wipes his eyes as he waits for the magic to fade. He will forget all about the forced smile when he sees the piles of food in the feasting orchard. We will present his ticket for punching and take his place at a table. Pal is hungry after all that crying and plans to eat no less than five cupcakes.
"Come on my friends, for all our sakes open wide and munch those cakes." Viola rhymes encouragingly to Pal and any other of her new friends that decides to enter the cake eating contest, and then playing the flight of the bumblebee to speed up the eating.
Afterwards she takes good care of cleaning up any spots of custard on the contestants with her fey magic (prestidigitation).
Calanon raises a brow but holds off from the contest, more interested in seeing some of the other attractions. He will still watch the contest, watching closely to see who will end up being the winner.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Viola then turns her face to Bramble. "This carneval has only tríckery in store, be careful, my friend, what you wish for." She rhymes with half a smile.
Bramble playfully smirks at Viola and nods, "I'm a Fairy and Trickery is my middle name... that is a most difficult request to heed but I will do my best song spinner but no promises," the wee Fairy giggled and waved her wand about!
Pal quickly downs 3 cupcakes but then immediately runs into trouble on his fourth cake, taking 5 custard damage.
Davis downs 10 cupcakes without any issues, then has some difficulty with the 11th, taking 3 custard damage. He is able to shrug it off and keep going, eating a total of 15 cupcakes so far, and still going strong with a good 15 second left in the contest. [ the best my IRL group achieved was 13, and there are seven of them ]
Bramble gets started on some cupcakes, surprisingly eating 7 without difficulty, but the 8th through 10th prove to be a challenge for her and she takes 16 custard damage from them, splattering custard everywhere.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Pal overcomes his temporary setback and gets the next cupcake down, but #6 puts up a fight, dealing 1 custard damage. That's enough to do him in, and he has to stop at 6.
Bramble has to stop at 10 cupcakes, not able to eat any more.
Calanon and Viola, you notice someone observing you with some interest: a gnome, sitting on a swing that hangs from the branch of a pear tree, is frequently eyeing you as she idly plucks at the strings on her lute. When she sees that you've noticed her, she gives you a wink.
Viola congratulates Davis on his impressive performance by giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. She then approaches the lute-playing gnome in the pear tree smiling widely and holding up her violin. "Good evening friend, what do you say, shall we perhaps together play."
The eladrin gives the gnome a once over before nodding at the wink from them. He turns his attention back to the others and offers a small clap as those he came in with continue to gobble down the cupcakes. "I am surprised they have not yet started to make bets..."

6 more custard damage for Davis
Viola, the gnome’s eyes sparkle with delight at your suggestion. She holds her lute at the ready, eager to follow your lead.
please give a performance check if you are going to play with her, with advantage (pseudo-inspiration, Viola is feeling very comfortable and confident in this environment and feels encouraged by this gnome).
