(OOC: I'll spell this out so that we are all on the same page. Since the group went to bed early, you can still wake up while the overnight low tide is in effect. This means, you are getting the benefit of a long rest and are still able to wake up before the sunrise --think 4am or so. That would give the party about 2 hours of low tide exploration, albeit in the dark. Good thing you all have darkvision, which would attenuate the hindrance.)
Knowing the tide change will not wait on them, Yulmiath makes the choice to wake the group up before sunrise, but not early enough that his companions wouldn't be able to call it a proper rest. Some open their eyes with more ease than others, but Kairus ensures all are indeed awake by playing an early morning tune about the sunrise that is still to come.
The group does some planning while preparing themselves for a dive. Krodhen suggests the group always knows where its members are by tying them all together. Hun dislikes the idea at first, but says he is impartial in the end. Yulmiath checks on Eeyal's ropes which had been set up for climbing up and down the cliff. The setup looks quite robust, but the dragonborn can only guess it, as he is familiar with rope usage in sailing, not climbing.
Kairus takes a moment to check on their smoked avian meat...
(OOC: Please consider this the party's last reminder to roll a survival check if you are indeed interested in smoking meat and creating a few extra rations in the process.)
If the opportunity arises, Yulmiath will ask Eeyal about making use of the ropes. "I know its early, but I feel I need to ask: Are you happy to let us use your ropes to descend down to the beach? Also, if you are intent on descending to the beach today, would you like to accompany us? Safety in numbers and all that? If not, I guess we might share your fire again tonight, if that is agreeable?"
If Eeyal is would prefer to sleep, Yulmiath is happy to let her and will assume she is happy to let them use the ropes.
Given the rest of the party might still be rubbing sleep from their eyes, collecting rations, checking equipment, Yulmiath reckons it might be time for one of them to begin the descent down the cliff to the beach below, might as well be him.

But if left to fend for himself in the end, the kobold grumbled but won't push the idea beyond its initial suggestion. As the group gets ready to descend, Kairus is the last to join them. He had been checking on the smoked meat, an endeavor Eeyal took an interest in and gave him some assistance last evening. The meat strips seem to be coming along nicely, though a handful of them are not drying as expected. Perhaps a batch will be ready for consumption once the party returns from the underwater expedition, or maybe later in the evening.
Yulmiath then approaches Eeyal, who is still lying down. She is not fully asleep, being woken by the party's preparations. She doesn't seem to mind it, but neither does she look ready to face the day. She answers the dragonborn's questions: "Feel free to use the rope. Somebody needs to stay behind to tend to the fire and the smoking meat. Besides, if those humans of yours come looking, I can tell them where you went. Be safe down there." With that, she turns to her side and tries to linger in bed for a while longer.
Meanwhile, Hun investigates the rope, unaware that Yulmiath had done so already. The kobold spots a few sections that are a bit frayed and could be dangerous should enough strain or friction be put on them. That said, there are plenty of pitons well-hammered into the side of the cliff. Should the party use their own ropes as secondary safety, risks would be decreased significantly. Armed with this knowledge, Hun recruits Kairus' help and soon more rope is used to reinforce the rig (i.e. the DC on the athletics checks has been lowered.)
(@MuggsHill: To keep things moving, I'll roll Krodhen's check on your behalf and assume you accept Rhogal's offer: 18.)
Not wanting to delay their expedition any longer, Yulmiath hops over the edge and grabs the rope. Kairus has lined himself up to be next down but prefers to wait until the dragonborn has successfully descended. The rope is strained and pieces of the rock wall do come loose, but the pirate soon makes his way onto the sandy beach below. Kairus follows, failing to be any more cautious than the rash dragonborn. The additional ropes do their job and the triton reaches the beach as well.
At this point, Hun chimes in suggestion someone should carry him down. No one seems particularly accepting of that idea and Krodhen simply decides to keep things moving after receiving a blessing from Rhogal. A few minutes later, the half-orc is the third party member to reach the beach.
Hun and Rhogal exchange a look, inspire themselves in whatever way they can, and begin to climb down. Thinking that the kobold's weight cannot be too much of a demand on the rope setup, Rhogal chooses not to wait for Hun to finish his descent before hoping onto it himself. This destabilizes the rigging just enough to send both adventurers plummeting down, though the artificer's meek arms could also be blamed for failing to grip the rope properly. Luckily, Hun has just the solution for their trouble, magically and safely decelerating his and the dwarf's fall.
The group is now on the beach. The skies are still quite dark and your darkvision goes only so far. Those jaged rocks refered to as the "teeth" are surely indicative of a hard swim ahead. The smell of the sea and the crashing waves can be felt and heard much more intensely down here. It even feels like home to most of you, although whether this is a good or bad feeling depends on you.
You remember that the Sea Mare is the farthest wreck from the beach. Including the information you heard overnight, here's what else you gather in the dark, under moonlight, in the low tide:
Dawn Avenger: This is the closest wreck to the beach. Its aft section was dragged out to sea by the current and is lost, but its forward section is lodged between rocks, canted to one side with its broken mast pointing south. The wreckage is entirely visible at low tide (i.e. the front section.)
Unknown Ship: It sits upside down on a rock bed, its masts and upper deck sheared off, its exposed belly crusted with barnacles and snails. At low tide, the hull is fully above the water. A gash on its starboard side makes an adequate doorway.
Carcerius: Two sections of this ship are half-exposed above water at low tide, but you gather a missing third section could also be somewhere nearby.
Unknown Ship: This ship's bowsprit and half of the figurehead are visible. At this distance, it is hard to tell what the figurehead is shaped like. Part of the ship’s aft castle lies nearby, on its side and lodged amid the rocks. That said, only a small, sun-bleached corner of the aft castle is visible.
Virago: The burnt nub that was once the mast is visible, as is the scorched top deck. Nothing else seems to be above water.
Sea Mare: The farthest wreck. At low tide, only the battered remains of the crow’s nest can be seen above the water.

Kairus did not even slow down, happily walking into the water. At this hour water near the shores was warmer than the air and he playfully splashed some at the closest team member (or just in the air if no one cared to get that close to the waves). He would gladly stay in the water but had a feeling others would prefer to explore the most exposed ships first and with a sigh got out. "So, that one?" Kairus pointed at the Dawn Avenger. "Just to see how we manage? Or maybe the nameless one. That hole loose intriguing..."
Kairus walked around the nameless ship trying to find (23) at least traces of the letters - no sane seafarer would leave a ship without the name, the worst omen one could think of! There had to be something.
"Quick thinking there shipmate. Glad we all made it down without a bump."
Giving a moment to check Hun and Rhogal weren't too unnerved by their descent, Yulmiath turns to keep an eye on Karius playing at the water's edge. He fills his lungs with with a couple of deep breaths of salty sea air himself, feeling a little more at home given the closeness of the water and the prospect of getting back aboard a ship. Even it was one that had been previously wrecked and likely picked over already. Calling out the water's edge, he gives permission to Karius to make the choice himself. "Either the Dawn Avenger or the Nameless One. We gotta start somewhere. Call it dealer's choice."
Apart from maybe seeming a bit annoyed for having to deploy the countermeasure, Hun otherwise promptly straightened and brushed off the accolade with a casual, "Yes, well, it is what it is." Taking but a moment after to study the two clearly narrowed down choices by the others, the Kobold grunts and says, "Don't make much matter to me which one. But, eh... Let's go with Dawn Avenger first. Being half a ship, it shouldn't take us long. Plus, if crap goes sideways with the tide timing, at least we wouldn't be too far from the cliffs."He turns and looks up to the cliffs. "Ugh. Before they can get to it, though, Kairus swims over to the other ship and tries to get a name for it. Surely enough, a carved plaque on its side reads "Dirty Bastard", although it is upside down. Once the bard returns to the group, they make their way to the Dawn Avenger.
The group enters the forward section of the ship, which is all that is left. The low tide reveals the entire half-ship, which seems lifted from the water by the teeth-looking rocks. Climbing inside is not too difficult even if the rocks are slippery. They are jagged enough that it is easy to find foot and hand holds. Once inside, the party also realizes that plenty of moonlight makes its way into the wreck, making it easy to look about. @Hun, regarding the investigation of the Dawn Avenger after all allies leave:
You are probably not too off in thinking that the tortles might not be the most thorough investigators out there. That said, this is the easiest shipwreck to reach and they have had plenty of time over the last year or so to go over this particular ship's every remaining inch. Based on what you learned about their culture, you'd imagine this relatively easy to access wreck is the preferred first adventure spot for many a young tortle trying to prove themselves. After spending plenty of additional time in here, you are sure there is nothing of value left behind. You do find a knifed in carving on one of the wood planks, however. It depicts a name: "Seraphina"
Unwilling to spend the necessary time to look over every inch of the Dawn Avenger,Yulmiath declares it a lost cause and leads the group out of the wreck. Nonetheless, he encourages whoever wants to stay and search to do just that, and Hun decides it might be worth his time. Kairus encourages the group to search the next ship over, the Dirty Bastard, and Rhogal agrees.
All party members moving out of the wreck at this time do so without trouble, although Rhogal needed some magical assistance.
Much like the first wreck, the Dirty Bastard is above water during the low tide. Well, at least most of it is. A gash in the upturned hull makes for an easy entrance. Anyone touching the hull for support would surely get a fistful of barnacles and snails, which can be sharp and slimy. That is the only difficulty in getting into the wreck, though, so it ain't too bad.
As soon as the party (sans Hun) enters, they realize two things. First, visually speaking, it is obvious that the tortles have explored this wreck as well. There is no immediate clear loot to be plundered, but some furniture pieces remain: a desk here, a chair there, a couple of empty barrels. This is clear indication that the tortles have not been as thorough with this wreck, and likely left more stuff behind. The second thing is the smell. Unlike the previous wreck, the air here smells like fetid water. You imagine that at high tide this can only get more unpleasant. The water outside is not this foul, however, which begs the question: why would this be such a localized stench?
The group also notices an opening farther down. This opening would lead into a part of the ship that is beyond the rock bed, so it is likely the group will find sand down below. It is quite dark beyond this passage, but the group can hear water sloshing about. If the party came to the beach for a swim in the dark, this is exactly what you are in for should you want to explore the deeper parts of this wreck.
Eventually, Hun catches up. He shows no wounds from climbing down the Dawn Avenger.
(OOC: I'll spell this out so that we are all on the same page. Since the group went to bed early, you can still wake up while the overnight low tide is in effect.
Unwilling to spend the necessary time to look over every inch of the Dawn Avenger, Yulmiath declares it a lost cause and leads the group out of the wreck.

Yulmiath wrinkles his face up at the smell within the Dirty Bastard. Given the smell, it is likely an appropriately named vessel.
"Smells like something died in here and then when they sent an intrepid band of adventurer's in to find out what it was, they died too."
Crossing directly to the desk, he opens the drawers and pokes about inside.
