"Hmm, more doors, best try and clear these rooms, so we don't leave any nasty surprises behind us ... this place seems to be full of them already." Weber will move over to door E and have a listen at the door ((Perception: 4)), if nothing is heard he will open up the room and survey the surroundings ((Investigation: 12))
Nothing is heard and the corridor appears to get foot traffic between D and A but that's about it. Besides the locked door, not much else to see out of the ordinary.
ooc: sorry, I guess I missed you opening the door. I need a better screen clipper.
This ruined chamber stands empty of all but a litter of rocky debris and some broken children's toys. The faded artwork on the wall looks like it was done by children many years ago. Nobody has been here for years.

Gus pushes a broken toy on the floor with the end of his hammer, "nothin' here." He calls over his shoulder to his companions outside the room.
"Let's move on Weber," Gus says cheerfully, nudging him gently with his shield.
He turns and leaves the room, noticing the stonework on the southern door, he walks up to it and runs his hand over the carving.
[OOC] can I use my stonecunning feature as a dwarf to try and recognise the origins of the carving to get some idea of what it might mean? History (stonecunning): 7
Upon reflection, this sort of thing with the swimming dragon things, makes you think they actually had plumbing back in the day. That was rare but not unheard of, with the lock and drawing however, this is not likely to be your normal plumbing closet.
Gus' touch lingers on the carving, "I think there's something behind this door, but I d'know how to open it," he says without looking away from it.
"Have a feeling there's some sort of water system in this place, might not be in the best condition after this time, we should be careful." He continues, turning to the others.
You could attempt to bash the door down. It is a stout door however and it would make a LOT of noise and possibly multiple attempts, call it DC20. Otherwise, you will have to find some thieves' tools or a key.
Crudely executed symbols and glyphs, scribed in bright green dye, decorate this large and irregularly shaped crumbling chamber. A large pit in the center shows evidence of a recent fire. A metallic cage in the middle of the southern wall contains a gaping hole and stands empty. A small wooden bench draped with green cloth is next to the cage, and several small objects rest on it.
A bedroll lies near the wooden bench, and the sound of whimpering comes from inside it.
A very upset kobold rises from the bedroll. He looks around and his eyes go wide and he almost faints. He recovers, and says. "Well, I guess my time is up, just make it quick is all I ask. My life is pretty much over anyway."
he notices you looking at the cage and realizes that he is actually still alive...
"“The clan’s dragon … we lost it. The wretched goblins stole Calcryx, our dragon!”
He has some cuts on him that are consistent with training a wild animal and looking around the cage, you see shed scales that could be from a white dragon. Considering the size of the cage, it has to be a young one.
The bench next to his bedroll serves as a sort of tiny altar. Resting on it are containers of green dye, a paintbrush made of goblin-hair bristles, and five tiny jade figurines of dragons (could fetch 15 gp each).
If you ask him more questions, he really doesn't know much more than his name (Meepo) but says the tribe leader Yusdrayl knows the answers to many questions.
"Meepo, no-ones life is over until they take their last breath. How long have you been hiding here alone?" Gus addresses the kobold.
"I guess this Yusdrayl person you mentioned can be found deeper into this underground city, would you be able to take us there? We'll keep ya safe from any more goblins, but have some questions needin' answered."

"Sounds like a plan!" Gus says enthusiastically.
He strides towards the north room, firming his grip on his hammer and shield, and waits for Weber to open the door before following him in.
((Thought I had already opened the door but maybe not lol))
Weber opens the door ((E)) and enters the room, moving to the side to allow the rest of the party easy access.
Durthon nods quietly and moves to the west end of the corridor to keep an eye on the most used door while the group focuses on the north door.

"That leaves us with a single option then" Durthon walks to the door going west and tries the handle.

Gus follows Attalia closely, staying alert. Whilst Attalia probs the whimpering rags, Gus takes a look at the items on the wooden bench.
Weber moves across to the damaged cage and has a look to try and identify what was being kept here ((Investigation: 4))
