Not wanting Ogden to go alone, Sophiel follows him while answering his question. She says, "The Carnival is fun. Full of lights, rides and games. However, we never stay in the same place for very long. We're always on the move." She flits about nervously but somewhat bolstered by Ogden's interest in the Carnival.
Meanwhile in the Parlor, a visibly shaken Nuzar returns with Alanik in tow. Ra'Salva is speaking with Doctor Arthur in one corner of the room. Sophiel and Ogden are still in their portion of the house, As well as Wraith and Emrys. 3 hours remain till the start of the first séance.
Nuzar would scan around the room, spotting Ra'Salva speaking with one of the investigators she'd sigh in relief, though she would not see Emrys which chilled her to the core. She'd turn to Alanik. "Hey... I apologize about before. Thank you." She would kindly accept the bar of chocolate realizing that she was now safe and takes a large bite, chewing graciously. "You didn't see my ally with the shield back there in the room with me, did you?" She peers behind Alanik to make sure Emrys was not there.
"I... I have seen visions. Within the portrait and I guess a specter guising itself as Emrys. Truthfully, I am no stranger to hauntings, sir. My mother was fairly superstitious so my siblings and I grew up believing and respecting the realms beyond."

Alanik gives you the chocolate and says, "That's is quite alright young one. I have seen my share of specters and trust me, sometimes not all ghosts are worth the pursuit." He rubs his hand on his legs. "However, this house has appeared in several of our investigations before, or at least had been referenced. Though we've never had plausible cause to investigate the house itself. As for you visions, well have you seen a professional about them or are they more of the arcane nature? Judging by your time here, I would say they are of the latter."
Also as you eat the chocolate, you reduce your level of stress by 1.
"Let me tell you, I hope you have more of that chocolate handy if we're going to be doing a seance here." She nods along, popping a thumb in her mouth to lick a bit of chocolate off. "My visions come from... a book. I'd rather not go further than that, not that I can even describe. I never sought professional help, I just... stayed-in" She would keep her composure talking about the past, but making sure she doesn't go too deep to give herself more anxiety being in this house. Thankfully the chocolate seems to be helping settle her nerves.
She'd look over to Ra'Salva speaking to Alanik's husband, giving him a wave with one hand, and lifting the leg that has his beloved Ambrose and bending the knee repeatedly to wave her leg showcasing his familiar, trying to make light of this situation. "You're in luck, Salva, the house is haunted." She calls, her voice a bit sarcastic.
Ra'Salva studies the Doctor's face, waiting to judge if his answers are truthful, but upon hearing Nuzar return the conversation and his questions are left hanging. He looks to Nuzar, and then to the familiar with some annoyance. "Fluff and Horse feathers. Nuzar, I didn't expect you back so soon. Tell me exactly what you've seen." He scowls at Ambrose and points to the satchel at his side where he keeps his spellbook. "You were to be my eyes and ears you saccadic serpent." The snake drops from Nuzar's leg and slithers across the room, up Ra'Salva's leg and into the satchel.
"Fluff a-" She stops herself from repeating Salva's interjections under her breath, trying to make sense of his dialect, but gives up. "Well I entered into a sort of sitting room and looking up at the fireplace there was a portrait of what I presume was Lord Halvhrest. Making eye contact with the portrait it felt like the eyes were staring at me. Moments later the face in the portrait starts to melt, flesh dripping off until it's skull was gazing upon me. I took that as a queue to get the hell out, I turn and bump into Emrys. I get close to him and whisper him warnings and wouldn't you know, Emrys is suddenly in the chair nearby after I was JUST holding onto him and speaking directly into his ear. That's when Alan found me and I didn't even trust him until he brought me back here, you can ask him and he can confirm. This place is haunted, Ra'Salva, and these spirits can look like any of us... I think we ought to call out for the others or else these spirits can really mess with them in this mansion." She sighs, finishing her recollection. By gazing in her face, Ra'Salva would be able to tell the half-orc was dead serious, she may have been calmed but she was still pale.
Ra’Salva tugs at his beard and breathes out a wheezing laugh. “Someone doesn’t want us uncovering the secrets of this place. Very interesting.” He smiles at Nuzar like a deranged Jack-o-lantern. “Wizards often employ illusions when guarding something of value, you see. It’s obvious! That you are standing here with us is proof that you were in no real danger. The dog that barks rarely bites.”
Ra’Salva begins pacing the room, talking to himself as much as to anyone. “I should have gone with you and we may have found out whether the answer to this riddle were arcane in nature or of a more mundane origin. The mind can be tricked! Don’t you understand!? Made to see what is not there… made to hear what is not there! Made to…”
Pushing his hand into his pocket he suddenly freezes in his tracks. Slowly, methodically, he takes an ornate planchette from his pocket, pausing to consider it before slowly lifting it to eye level, gazing at Nuzar through the view hole.
”Made to fear… “ he says the words slowly, with a solemn authority. His manic episode seems to have passed.
The planchette is black with gold inlay. Etched upon it are several small roses with thorns growing around them. Bordering the view hole are two ravens skulls.
Nuzar would walk around and settle herself down into a seat, observing Ra'Salva as he lectures/rambles. As he goes through his episode and produces the planchette, Nuzar's gaze would become fixated on the item. Looking at her through the object, Ra'Salva would be sporting a scowl, head resting upon her fist as she leans over to gaze at this creepy quasi-doctor, elbow upon her thigh. "Mind not aiming that at me? There's enough spirits attracted to me as it is." She states flatly.
"Look... You can say I was in never in real danger, but in a mansion like this, with these two here to conduct a seance who seem to know what they're doing..." She'd wave the chocolate bar she was eating in her off-hand to Alanik, acknowledging his efforts. "I truly believe there is something more than just some magical illusions going on in this place and I wasn't about to find out then-and-there, got it?" She'd finish her chocolate bar and toss the wrapper in a nearby bin if there is any in the parlor, walking back, she'd produce one of her daggers to fiddle with it between her hands. She'd give a smirk to Ra'Salva. "Why don't you try taking a tour to retrieve the others before the seance? You can judge for yourself then, Salva."
As Ra'Salva pulls out his planchette, Doctot Arthur looks surprised. "Oh you found it. I've been looking everywhere for that." He reaches for the planchette. 'You see over there, the spirit board is setup but I couldn't find my planchette. I have been looking around for it for quite some time. Thank you for finding it."
Nuzar grunts, standing up to observe the spirit board and winces a bit. "So... Is there anything I need to do during this séance? I've never taken part in one and wish to be prepared."

Alanik rolls up to you and says, "Just think about any questions you may have for whatever spirits that may be in this home. Apart from that just mentally prepare, you more so, seeing how this house has affected you so far."
Nuzar would simply nod to Alanik, keeping her eyes on the spirit board and starts to formulate ideas or search for anything in the parlor for anything of note or something to drink which was her original goal until the others come back.
A wave of surprise washes over Ra'Salva's face as the Doctor takes the planchette from his hand. "Your... this is your planchette? Not.. hers? No, of course. Of course not hers... hers didn't look like that. I... " Ra'Salva seems very confused. He puts his hand to his head as if trying to banish some terrible memory. "I.. I could do for a drink. Could you direct Nuzar and myself to a rookery, Doctor? A wine cellar perhaps? Anywhere we could get a drink."
"A rookery, huh? Never heard of the word but I like the sound of it, Salva." She smirks, walking over to Ra'Salva, studying his expression and keeping mind of his expression with the planchette. She finally put her dagger away. "If we have to go back out there, we need to be careful..."
Arthur speaks to both Ra'Salva and Nuzar, "I believe if you go down that hallway, toward the end on your right should be the Kitchen. There may be something there." He motions toward location 10 on the map.
