"Yes. Let's see if anyone still maintains this holy site." Razi nods in approval to Caine and prepares to follow him inside. If it is dark in the interior, Razi will cast light on his hammer to provide illumination.

Nelyna follows closely behind Razi, her eyes open wide, and her ears straining to hear the slightest noise of any sort of attack. After what happened in the manor house, she knew they couldn't be too careful in this dreadful place.
"Well, I don't know many animals that could open a door," Jim replies. "However, who is to say that the door wasn't clocked when the wolves were literally at the front door."
Jim takes a whiff of the stale and pungent smell of the mildew and wrinkles his nose. He then waves his hand and utters the word, "Flowers." Suddenly, the pungent smell of mildew is replaced by the sweet scent of flowers.
"There that's better."
Jim is then startled by the sound of the inhuman scream.
He then nods in response to Caine, before attempting to stealthily approach the preying figure from the other side of the church.

Nelyna wrinkles her nose at the smell of the mildew, but it is quickly replaced by Jim's charm. She gives him a grateful smile. When the scream rings out, her blood runs cold, and she restrains the urge to grab onto Jim or Razi.
Curious about the source of the muttered prayers, she steps as softly as she can, following behind the pair of roguish men.
Uncomfortable about sneaking into the church but trusting his allies' instincts after the haunted house fiasco, Razi follows them into the building, but hangs back so as not to interfere with their creepings.

Nelyna approaches the door as quietly as she can. She glances back once toward the others to make sure they seem ready for anything. Then she stands to one side of the door and tries to open it slowly.
Can Razi identify what faith is practiced here from the trappings and signage in and around the church? Religion: 17

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jim has spent a lot of time reading a lot of books on the occult. Not only did this cover lore about spells, magic items, and magical traditions, they also included lore about deities, rites, prayers, and the practices of secret cults. He takes a moment to look around to see if he could identify anything that would provide some insight into the practices carried out in this church. Perhaps it would provide a clue as to the nature of the prayer that they heard, or the cause of the screaming.

Caine looks around at the others and raises his hands at the lack of response from the church.
"Open to all, right?" Caine says as he pushes the doors open and looks inside.
"Yes. Let's see if anyone still maintains this holy site." Razi nods in approval to Caine and prepares to follow him inside. If it is dark in the interior, Razi will cast light on his hammer to provide illumination.

"How odd, scratches on the door but it is unlocked? Stupid wolves!"
laughs..
Caine nearly jumps at the sound of the scream.
He quickly steps to the side of the door, out of the direct path of anything that could be coming down the aisle.
But then he pauses. The screams came from below the floor not from the person praying.
"Somebody's keeping secrets here," Caine says in whisper.
He creeps forward, staying to the sides and shadows and moving quietly to see if he can make out who's praying.
