Sildar nods at your suggestion, Mau, adding, “A good idea but the goblins will be on high alert for a time. And their greed will grow. It won’t be long before they waylaying the roads again. They will need to be dealt with eventually.” Sildar looks grim but resigned. “I recognized the symbol on those supplies in their cave. They belong to the Lionshield Coster, a merchant outfit with a post in Phandalin. Linene runs it and would likely be glad to know where the shipments are.”
"I guess we could do a good deed and go back in force to take care of Yeemik and the remnants of his forces, but we could first see in Phandalin if we can get some kind of reward for that trouble, perhaps from the Lionshield Coster. But then there's the matter of Gundren and perhaps we should just talk to that wizard and try to find our way to Cragmaw castle before his captors decide he is no longer of use. I think we should sleep on it and make decisions tomorrow morning when we are rested."Wolfe suggests. looking around at the others for their opinions. "I really hope Phandalin has a good Inn."
"don't care about Yeemik..I am done with him..I care only to find Gundren and finish my job" says Krull looking forward to arrive to their destination and have some good ale
From up front Rabbit nudges Wolfe. She speaks in a lowered voice, though it's hardly low enough for others to not hear what she is saying. "That Krull daft or something? The only job we had was to get this wagon to Barthen's in Phandalin. Rescuing Sildar was extra. And finding Gundren, that's way extra. You serious about trekking off to this Cragmaw place too?" Her eyes go wide in exaggerated exasperation.
She shifts her attention to Sildar, calling out to him. "Hey Sildar! You'll have our gold for us, right? Once we get this stuff to Barthen's? And what precisely are the Cragmaws? More goblins?"
Edryd has been mostly quiet during the trip contemplating the situation and his new traveling partners. Battered and bruised as he walks along in front of the wagon before speaking to no one in particular, "It seems the moon continues to guide me to help the people of Phandalin. I will not turn my backs on them. The darkness must be purged of these evils and in doing so the people Phandalin will learn not to fear the night but embrace it and then they will bask in the cool, pale love of Selune." His voice crescendos as his sermon reaches it climax. In more calm but certainly not sane voice he concludes "I will go to Cragmaw if that is what is needed. I will return to Yeemik and burn him in moonlight for his digressions. If the moon continues to guide any of you in those directions I will be stand with you." He coughs a bit of blood which gets stuck in his beard, Edryd does not seem to mind.
"What means daft?is it something I won't like? Anyway yes delivering the wagon was our initial job but dead Gundren means no payment " Says Krull looking at Mrs Rabbit
"Krull may have a point there Rabbit, and either way, I don't have anything in particular planned out, not that I ever have, but finding Gundren sounds like an interesting challenge, not that I think Ezekiel will give me much choice in the matter, but it may also make us all rich eventually. I guess I'll just have to go wherever you go Rabbit but I think this could be entertaining for all of us, well apart from those arrows in the back then but next time we could just stick together I guess." Wolfe says smiling, looking around at the others and glancing over at Rabbit beside him. "It's not long now to Phandalin, right Sildar?"
"Better let him rest now, we'll sort everything out once we had a good sleep in Phandalin." Wolfe says to the others, trying to see if he can spot the Phandalin soon.
Rabbit watches Sildar seem to drift off, not answering any of her questions. She then gives Wolfe a long, silent look. She pulls her hood up over her head, pulling it to mostly conceal her face. As she sits on the bench of the cart, she draws her knees up against her chest and just rides along quietly.
"who's Ezekiel and why he wont give you a choice? As a free man you follow your own path right Wolfe?I always follow my path doing what I believe is best " say Krull as he tries to fix his handaxe..he stretches a bit as the cart seems small wierdly ..
Perhaps another hour, maybe two, goes by and the sun is slowly falling towards the horizon. A particularly large hole in the road isn't noticed by Wolfe and the wagon slams down. Sildar wakes up, alarm in his face. "Wha?! Where - oh, thank the gods!" he sputters. He looks around. "Apologies, I must have dozed off. Well, good thing. We're here," he says.
The rutted track emerges from a wooded hillside, and you catch your first glimpse of Phandalin. The town consists of forty or fifty simple log buildings, some built on old fieldstone foundations. More old ruins-crumbling stone walls covered in ivy and briars-surround the newer houses and shops, showing how this must have been a much larger town in centuries past. Most of the newer buildings are set on the sides of the cart track, which widens into a muddy main street of sorts as it climbs toward a ruined manor house on a hillside at the east side of town. As you approach, you see children playing on the town green and townsfolk tending to chores or running errands at shops. Many people look up as you approach, but all return to their business as you go by.
Sildar seems much more at ease. "My friends," he says, "let us secure lodgings. The local inn is very quaint and is straight ahead. The Stonehill is sure to have rooms for us."
In the center of town stands a large, newly built roadhouse of fieldstone and rough-hewn timbers. It's main entrance opens up onto a town center of sorts. Along the way to the inn, you pass a few buildings of interest, one of which you notice has a sign carved out of oak set into the ground, "Barthen's Provisions" it reads. To your right across from Barthen's, the tell-tale hammering sounds of a smithy can be heard. Sildar does not allow you to stop at this point, and it would be a bit cruel to do so, since he is still quite injured. Plus, you need to find your lodgings for the evening anyways.
When you get to the inn, you help Sildar off the wagon. He walks stiffly and slowly towards the door, nearly falling but waving you away. "It's okay, it's okay. Let me see about rooms." He disappears inside. After a few moments, you hear yelling - it's Sildar's raised voice, imperious as ever, and he is arguing with someone - another male, by the sounds of it.
Finally, Sildar comes out, scowling slightly. "Okay, I have been able to secure 6 rooms, if you should require that many. The owner owes me a favour but, halfling that he is, it's not free. I haggled him down to 3 silvers per night, and 2 silvers for a meal. So 5 silver per day will get you a room and some food. If this is not to your satisfaction, you could try one of the farms - they may have space in the barns or the loft. If you wish, I can take this from the amount owing to you for escorting me back here. Which, by the way, I will have for you tomorrow. All of my stuff was stolen and taken. It will take me time to secure some funding but there is no doubt that I will be able to arrange it. The owner's name is Toblen. He runs this place with his wife, Trilena. They have a son, Pip-" He coughs and hacks and catches himself on the horse tether and railing. "Now, if you will excuse me, I am in need of some food, drink, and - if the gods smile kindly upon me - a quiet bed."
Here is a map of the town. You have a couple hours at best before nightfall. Obviously some of these places won't make sense to you yet but you came in from the north (the Triboar Trail) and traveled south to the inn along the main road.
"Ezekiel, heh, long story Krull, but suffice to say he's a celestial being very much in control of my destiny at the moment." Wolfe answers the goliath.
Wolfe too relaxes a bit as they finally enter Phandalin, being back in some resemblance of civilization at last. He would help Sildar off the cart and wait impatiently outside. "I'll take a room here, and so does Rabbit. You can deduct it from what you owe me." Wolfe says to Sildar as he finishes his offer. "This town looks quaint indeed but I think I will wait until tomorrow to explore it. Come on in, dinner and drinks are on me." Wolfe says and holds the door up for Rabbit and the others to enter the Stonehill Inn.
Once inside he would try to get a table for five, a bottle of their best red and five menus.
Krull scratches his chin as he tries to understand Wolfe.." never met a celestial or how you say it..I know only what nature provides and how to survive in it..but you are a worthy ally so he must be good"
turning to Sildar as soon as they arrived " ok you pay 5 silver since you can.. but first get rest boss"
Rabbit quietly looks over the town as they approach, still sitting with her hood pulled over her head and knees pulled up to her chest. Once they come to a halt before the inn she stands, stretches a moment, then hops off.
"This it?" she says to Wolfe once he's off the cart. "Guess I thought it'd be an actual city. This is more of a... farm."
She does listen with interest as Wolfe mentions Ezekiel and 'celestial being'. Her attention though seems to be directed down the street at the few building that are here. When Wolfe takes a room on her behalf she bristles, but lets it go. Eventually she follows Wolfe inside.
"I'd rather change before eating. Gotta get out of these stinking clothes." She looks to get a key and directions to her room.
"How considerate of you Rabbit."Wolfe says as Rabbit has left for her room. He himself has meticulously magically cleaned his attire but is looking forward to a hot bath before bed.
Edryd walks on in silence as they enter Phandalin. He smiles as he sees the children and the people milling about. This is a good place. They should know the glory of the moon,He thinks to himself. As they walk on he considers the area and where he will start to build his shrine to Selune, perhaps atop the town green he considers as they approach the inn. As Sildar mentions rooms Edryd becomes a bit tense, When was the last time I slept inside.... I had a room once... as a child...
"Do all of the rooms have a roof?" He asks sincerely. Assuming he is met blank stares and confusion he will continue. "I would much prefer to sleep covered by the stars and Selune's light. If there is a barn or stable I shall stay there."His stomach growls in anger and as a startled expression crosses his face, "Though some food would be nice. I will join you for that."
After the meal he would go look for a mostly open place to sleep. He would try the Orchard first if he were to stumble that way or the Farm to the south.

Mau keeps quiet during the rest of the journey, choosing to walk next to the caravan. Once signs of some sort of civilisation are spotted he sighs slightly and begins to let his guard down not much chance of goblins attacking this close to town.
"Take the payment from what is owed us" Mau says flatly towards Sildar "It has been a long journey and a meal would be much appreciated. Though like Rabbit I feel I need bathe and change first, I can still smell the filth from that cave on me."
Wolfe watches as Mau too is off to clean his fur, but then he turns to Krull and Edryd, confident that they at least would not bother with a bath. "So, anyone for a friendly game of cards while we wait for our meals." Wolfe suggests to Krull and Edryd as he starts shuffling his deck.
"Nah too much thinking but we can best each other at arms wrestling..huh?huh? Hehe who is interested? "
says Krull quite enthusiastic..he smells his arm pits as they are waiting for the meal..the stench starts to engulfing him "a bath is needed so after the meal I ll have to leave you lads"
