Summer - The northern doors stand open and you see a library beyond. Ankita is inspecting a bookshelf in the north eastern corner of the room. You watch as she pulls a red book on a shelf and the entire bookshelf swings outward a few inches, revealing a hidden room.

Hofaen, seeing his colleagues have ascended to the first floor, follows on trailing a little behind. As he reaches the first floor landing he sees the doors have been opened and rooms are being investigated. He lingers on the landing and closely inspects each of the suits of armour and the fire grate in turrn.
Hofaen - Each suit of armor clutches a spear and has a visored helm shaped like a wolf’s head. Your close inspection of them reveals to you that they are finely detailed replicas, more ornamental than actually functional. The fireplace appears to be an ordinary fireplace, perhaps in need of cleaning, but otherwise mundane.
Ankita & Summer - This secret room contains bookshelves packed with tomes describing fiend-summoning rituals and the necromantic rituals of a cult called the Priests of Osybus. A heavy wooden chest with clawed iron feet stands against the south wall, its lid half-closed. Sticking out of the chest is a skeleton in leather armor.
Summer - The tomes are a bit too dense to glean much information from just a cursory glance. You would need an uninterrupted hour and a successful arcana check, to focus on reading the tomes and interpreting the information within to learn much more.
While Summer takes a look at the books, Ankita goes over to the half open chest, and fully opens it - hoping the skeleton won't fall out - to see if there is anything else of interest.

Finding nothing of note on the landing Hofaen walks into the room to the north. Seeing the picture hanging above the fireplace he looks at it intently to see if there is anything of note about it; then, curiosity getting the better of him, gently lifts it away from the wall to see if there is anything hidden behind it.

As he’s doing so he calls to Summer and Ankita who he can hear checking the far corner “call if you need anything”
Ankita - The skeleton does indeed fall out of the chest when you open it. You can see three darts sticking out of the skeleton's leather armor and ribcage. The mechanism that fired the darts is attached to the lid of the chest. It appears rusted beyond functionality. A piece of parchment falls from the skeleton's hand as the skeleton clatters to the floor and falls apart, the dried bits of sinew no longer holding it together. Opening the parchment you find it to be a letter written in flowy script that reads:
My most pathetic servant,
I am not a messiah sent to you by the Dark Powers of this land. I have not come to lead you on a path to immortality. However many souls you have bled on your hidden altar, however many visitors you have tortured in your dungeon, know that you are not the ones who brought me to this beautiful land. You are but worms writhing in my earth.
You say that you are cursed, your fortunes spent. You abandoned love for madness, took solace in the bosom of another woman, and sired a stillborn son. Cursed by darkness? Of that I have no doubt. Save you from your wretchedness? I think not. I much prefer you as you are.
Your dread lord and master,
Strahd von Zarovich
The chest contains three blank books with black leather covers (worth 25 gp each), three spell scrolls (bless, protection from poison, and spiritual weapon), the deed to the house, the deed to a windmill, and a signed will. The will is signed by Gustav and Elisabeth Durst and bequeaths the house, the windmill, and all other family property to Rosavalda and Thornboldt Durst in the event of their parents’ deaths.
Hofaen - Nothing of interest behind the painting, though when you attempt to replace it the wire that was supporting it snaps and the painting tumbles to the floor with a loud clatter. The frame is cracked and ruined. After the echo of the clatter fades, howling can again be heard from somewhere below.
Baldwin - The harpsichord sits beneath a layer of dust, but is masterfully constructed and is still tuned perfectly. The harp is similarly dusty, well-crafted, and well-tuned.
"Whoa" Ankita breathes out, "I'm a little worried about what we have stumbled across here." and she hands the letter to Summer for her to read. "I'll grab these scrolls, leather books, deeds and will, and we can all go through it when we have time."
She hears the howling again and with what she just read and has seen in this room, the skin on the back of her neck begins to prickle. "Let's see if we can find a way to take care of that monster - and hopefully find the children again."
Baldwin goes over to the drapes and peers out the window to check on the fog. He then turns on his heel and exits back to the landing area to link up with the rest of the group.

As the painting falls wall and the howling begins Hofean exclaims "for the love of Tyr... dammit... clumsy oaf". Propping the fallen picture against the wall he straightens and, taking Ankita's lead from the floor below, investigates the south west corner of the room for anything that might indicate and entrance into the 'missing' corner of the room.
Hofaen grins ruefully “tis true Zindarik, the maker did not build us dainty - I suspect whatever waits below may have need of our less subtle abilities”
Ankita goes into the hallway of the 2nd floor and finds the rest of her companions. She fills them in on what she and Summer have found. ”Serious shit was going on here, I hope those children are ok. I’m not sure what these people might have summoned. It can’t be good.”
Once she has shown them the items she retrieved from the chest, she heads up the stairs to the next level and opens the closest door to continue the investigation.

"Summer, do you see this? Come check this out with me." And Ankita proceeds to open the bookshelf further and check out what's behind it.

Baldwin, having played the birdpipes at the temple, is interested in the instruments. He goes over to the harpsichord first and inspects it.

Zindarik closely follows the other members of the group, remaining watchful for any signs of trouble.
Turning to Hofaen, he muses lightheartedly, "Hands like ours are made for holding a blade or a hammer, not works of art."
