Zindarik - At the mention of the monster, Thorn whimpers again. Rose consoles him and says, "It's scary... We never saw it but we heard it yelling and yelling before mother and father sent us up here..."

”I fear these two are bound here - once we have dealt with what ever resides below we should bring these two peace and ensure they are properly laid to rest”
Ankita - When she sees the doll, Rose gasps and smiles, "My dolly!" When you lay it next to her remains a ghostly doll appears in her spirit's arms. She hugs it tightly and says, "I've missed you!" Thorn looks up at his bigger sister and says, "Rosie, you're s'posed to say thank you..." Rose pats her brother on the head and says, "You're right Thornboldt, thank you." She turns to you and curtsies, "Thank you very much."

Baldwin is deeply saddened by what has befallen these two innocent children. "I agree Ankita, it is time to face this beast. *chip chip* We must avenge these two and bring them peace. *chirp*"
Right before they leave, Ankita asks the children referencing the toy chest, "Rose and Thorn, would there be anything in this chest that would assist us as we head down to face the monster?"
All - You descend the creaking stairs, parting the thick cobwebs as you go. At the bottom a narrow tunnel stretches southward before branching east and west.
Baldwin whispering to the rest of the party, "I hate being underground like this. There is no room to stretch my wings! *soft chip* Zindarik should we go east or west?"
Hofaen follows Zindarik but moves beyond him as he turns to the south facing opening. He moves the end of the corridor, stops, and looks to the North ensuring nothing from that direction can catch the party unawares.
Zindarik - You see that this southern passage ends in a fork. Both rooms appear to be crypts. The eastern crypt is empty and the western crypt bears a small sarcophagus on a stone bier with the name Walter Durst etched into it.
Hofaen - Looking down the north corridor you see a wooden table and four chairs standing at the east end of this room. Before you turn to follow the others, you hear the an eerie, incessant chant echoing throughout the passages of the basement. It’s impossible to gauge where the sound is coming at this time.
Ankita - The sarcophagus is fairly small, too small even for either Rose or Thorn and it bears the name Walter Durst. You're reminded of the letter you found in the hidden room that accused the father of the household of having an extra-martial affair and siring a still-born son.
"I fear Ankita that whatever this monster is, it is not from the material plane. Clearly this family was dealing with something truly devilish that dwelt deep in the ground, the opposite of Aerdrie and her love of the sky *chip*"
Baldwin, acknowledging the crypts turns to the north to make sure Hofaen is not caught out on his own by whomever, or whatever, are chanting deeper in the basement.
"Oh goodness, right I forgot. There were three children all together." She says a silent prayer to Silvanus for all three of them then turns away from the crypt and starts to head down the path that Hofaen was looking down. "We need to finish this. What do we have down this path?"
Ankita - A wooden table and four chairs stand at the east end of this room. To the west are four alcoves containing moldy straw pallets. There is also a set of stairs at the end of the short hallway in the north wall.

"Agreed." Ankita says quietly. "Are we ready to head down and face this thing?"

When all are ready, Zindarik leads the way down the spiral stairs...
Right before they leave, Ankita asks the children referencing the toy chest, "Rose and Thorn, would there be anything in this chest that would assist us as we head down to face the monster?"
Ankita - Rose tilts her head and says, "Hmm? That is where we keep our toys."
"Thank you Rose." Ankita stands up and heads out following Zindarik down the stairs.

Baldwin whispering to the rest of the party, "I hate being underground like this. There is no room to stretch my wings! *soft chip* Zindarik should we go east or west?"
Zindarik leads the way eastward and then turns south into the first opening.
Hofaen follows Zindarik but moves beyond him as he turns to the south facing opening. He moves the end of the corridor, stops, and looks to the North ensuring nothing from that direction can catch the party unawares.

She turns to the others, "What kind of monster do you think is down here? I'm still trying to wrap my mind around those two children."

Baldwin goes and explores the straw pallets to see if they hide any secrets.
