"What now? I wonder," muses Zindarik aloud. "It seems we're near the end of this strange journey, yet we see no monster. Does it lay in wait beneath the water's surface?"
He looks back to make sure Hofaen and Baldwin are prepared to enter the room. "Wait here for a moment."
After picking up his shield and drawing Rahzzur from its sheathe, he enters the room and ascends the stairs to his left. Using the ledge to make his way around the room in a counterclockwise fashion, he eyes the water and the pile of trash for any sign of movement...
Zindarik - When you enter the room the chanting is almost deafening. It reverberates in the chamber, though you can find no source. You spy a fair amount of bones in the pile of refuse, but you don't see any movement.
Shouting above the noise “Hmm - Ankita, that is a good question. I will ascend the dais with Zindarik I think. We are both well covered in steel and shield. Perhaps two go up, two stay back a little for cover? - what say you all?”
“Baldwin, lets post up at the bottom of the dais and cover our friends as they head up.” Ankita takes position and keeps an eye out for anything menacing.
All - When Zindarik and Hofaen enter the water the chanting suddenly stops. When they ascend the dais the chanting rises once more as thirteen dark apparitions appear on the ledges overlooking the room. Each one resembles a black-robed figure holding a torch, but the torch’s fire is black and seems to draw light into it. Where you’d expect to see faces are voids.
“One must die!” they chant, over and over. “One must die! One must die!”
Zindarik - Relating to obscure practices of evil religions -The layout of the room, the chanting, and the blood stained dais lead you to believe that a sacrifice of some sort is required.

"What is this?! *brrt brrrrrtt*" Baldwin is concerned by the sudden appearance of this robed group and tries to sense if they will spring forth in an attack against him and his companions.
Baldwin - The figures only stand on the periphery of the chamber, chanting and holding their black light torches. They aren't giving an indication that they're readying for an attack.
Zindarik shakes his head to convey his lack of certainty about the situation. He calls back to Baldwin, "They desire a sacrifice upon this altar and I believe they are here as witnesses of some sort. Who knows what will happen if we deny them?"
Looking to Hofaen, Zindarik sheathes his sword and says, "I think we are agreed that neither of us will kill the other. Let's leave this dais then."
Facing the chanting apparitions, Zindarik yells, "There will be no blood spilled today! None will die!"
He then descends the dais steps and returns to Ankita and Baldwin.
Hofaen holds his position momentarily looking at the apparitions, nods at Zindarik’s words, then follows him down the steps.
“13 niches, 13 apparitions. Without stating the obvious to all, these feel linked to me - we could try marring one of the niches and seeing if it alters the situation here? A risky endeavour no doubt but may be worth attempting if we run short of options. Otherwise we should try the other exit from the room through the portcullis”. He makes to move back towards the room with the 13 niches.
All - When Zindarik and Hofaen both step off the altar, the chant suddenly changes... “Lorghoth the Decayer, we awaken thee!” The awful roar you all heard before echoes deafeningly throughout the chamber and the pile of refuse and bones in the western alcove trembles violently before surging forth toward you all!
Zindarik - You and Ankita manage to lift the portcullis, it screeches in protest as it rises, but locks into position once fully raised.

...and upon reaching the set of stairs near the alcove, if nothing happens, Zindarik will return to the others near the portcullis.
Zindarik - When you enter the room the chanting is almost deafening. It reverberates in the chamber, though you can find no source. You spy a fair amount of bones in the pile of refuse, but you don't see any movement.
Zindarik circles back to the group and shrugs his shoulders and says, "Shall we ascend that dais?"
Baldwin let’s a soft chirp of acknowledgement to Zindarik and prepares himself for what might be next. He follows Zindarik’s lead.
“Shall we go together or one stay at the base just in case?” Ankita shouts to be heard over the reverberation.
Shouting above the noise “Hmm - Ankita, that is a good question. I will ascend the dais with Zindarik I think. We are both well covered in steel and shield. Perhaps two go up, two stay back a little for cover? - what say you all?”

Baldwin - Try editing your post and adding a space behind the roll formula, that should clear up the error.

"Good observation, Hofaen" And Ankita goes to follow him into the room with the 13 niches, as long as no one attacks them for leaving this room.
