"We'll have desert giant steak for dinner, it seems!" comments Khessa, as Mistress Kramyra unleashes fire again on the enemy. The tall arcane warrior also tries to contribute with another Fire Bolt of hers: Attack: 13 Damage: 6
Khessa would rather not, for fear he comes back in the future, maybe with reinforcements... but the tall arcane warrior does not know what to do to stop him! She can not go near the giant to threaten him, or the Gust of Wind casted by Zephyros could push HER over the edge. From distance, she could (and will) toss him some other Fire Bolt as a parting gift, as long as he is in range, but I doubt this will be enough to finish him.
The blonde warrior-mage would still be quite happy that Zephyros is safe once again and she will (if Zephyros allows) tend his wounds the best she can (no practical effect in game, of course: Khessa has no means to restore the giant's hp - but, as far as role-playing is concerned, she would try to tend the wounds of a wounded friend!).

Khessa realizes that the desert giant seems to be struggling to stand up.
'He looks VERY badly injured,' she thinks, 'like a shot or two could finish him off, just judging by the looks of it. If we let him get away now, he could come back in the future, possibly with reinforcements... Better give him those damn few shots he's missing!'
With deadly determination in her blue eyes, the tall arcane warrior pushes herself beyond her limits, unloading a storm of darts of force on the hapless giant, hitting him mercilessly!
In game terms: she uses Action Surge to cast two Magic Missile at the Desert Giant, for a total of: 22 force damage
Khessa rejoyce, as she see the threat finally annihilated: "We shown him! Good job firends!"

She will also try to study a little bit more with Zephyros and/or Mistress Kramyra, thus discovering in the notes of the drow magician some meanings that had previously escaped her (this is because her 4th level is a Wizard level, will update character sheet soon).

"Indeed. I art grateful for thy bravery. I regret that I could not be of more assistance, Master Zephyros." Ev'alish says as he approaches the wounded giant.
As he looks over his wounds, one of the scales on his palm comes a bit loose, drifting to the ground. The dragonborn picks up the silvery thing, and glances up, somewhere, to the sky. Slowly, he crushes the scale and sends it into the air with a sweep of his arm, silver dust flying into the wind. It gathers around the worst of Zephyros' wounds, and binds them together a bit, easing the pain.
(Gift of the Metallic Dragon feat - Casting cure wounds to heal 3 hp)
Slowly, he turns, and makes his way back to the castle. One might swear that they see the outlines of wings behind his back in the setting sun.
Kan stares after Ev'alish. "Did anybody else see that?"
He continues staring after the Dragonborn as he approaches Zephyrus, casting cure wounds as well, healing 8
"See what?" only now turns Khessa, who was concentrating on Zephyros' wounds "Ah, the hero bearing of Ev'alish, you mean?" the blonde arcane warrior is fascinated for a moment "Yes, I know Kan, he knows how to be so majestic... he always has this effect on me too" and resumes taking care of the giant, happy that the magical healings of the Cabbage Patch Companions are improving the situation.
with her new level of wizard, Khessa got to know the new spells Find Familiar and Comprehend Languages. She promptly summons a familiar, a bat, naming it Anator.
Longer version is in spoiler:
The next day, Khessa is eager to show her new family her new discoveries in the field of magic. After completing her usual routine of physical and weapon exercises with her children (and with Ev'alish as well, if he likes to join) and after a healthy breakfast (where healthy obviously means that it includes at least some dish based on cabbage), the tall warrior-mage declares: "Sarvin! Yondra! Ev'alish! Yesterday I finally discovered a powerful new spell." her blue eyes shine with excitement "A ritual that will allow us to have a new friend! But since it's so powerful, it takes a while to cast it... maybe about an hour... but you will see that the wait will be worth it! If you want to watch go ahead, but don't interrupt me, huh? Or if you prefer to play in the meantime, go for it and I'll let you know as soon as I'm finished... As you wish" and with that, she starts fetching a brass brazier and burning in it charcoal, incense, and herbs with a penetrating scent, chanting ancient formulas and slightly swaying her body to the rhythm of the invocation.
As the ritual comes to life, the form of the invocation becomes more rhythmic and faster, at times hypnotic, until, in the end, when the substances in the brazier have been completely consumed and even the last clouds of smoke are dissipating in the air, a small winged creature descends from above, several meters above the summoner's head... although it's hard to tell how long it had been there! No one has seen it approach... Did it appear out of nowhere? Always behaving as if everything were perfectly normal, the little creature leans on Khessa's shoulder, returning the looks of the curious. It looks like a bat. But the familiarity with which she deals with Khessa and the light of intelligence in the back of her eyes makes one suspect that it is something else.
"See how cute?!" Khessa scratches him under his fur "You can touch him, it won't hurt you. As I told you, it is our new friend. A magical friend. It is my 'familiar'. A celestial spirit who came down from heaven with the important tasl to play with you! And in moments when he is not playing with you, it will help us restore the ordning as well. It can do a lot of things! It can see without light, just like a real bat! But in addition, it can see and hear things for me. And it can even touching things or people in my place. It understands what I tell him or what I think... Look!" To better demonstrate, the blonde arcane warrior first enchants two pebbles by making them shed light, one blue and one orange, then she turns to the familiar: "Anator, could you please bring this magic stone"(the blue one)"to the most beautiful boy of the world and this other"(the orange one)"to the most beautiful girl in the world?" And promptly the bat flies to Khessa's hand and takes the blue pebble first to Sarvin, then the orange one to Yondra.
"What's more," Khessa adds, "it can also disappear"(the bat promptly vanishes into thin air)"and then reappear next to me!"(and here it reappears on her shoulder).
"I called him Anator," the voice of the tall warrior-mage grows sweet "like one of my brothers, the one who died during the drow slave raid. Anator died trying to protect us. And I believe that wherever he is now, never stopped trying to do it. This spell summons a celestial spirit... And I think the spirit that was sent to me may be Anator's. He would have come, if some celestial power had proposed this to him. I think it's him" and caresses him. "Welcome back, Anator! We'll get the others back too. This is my new family, do you see? Ev'alish, that is... well... almost my husband and Yondra and Sarvin, my children! Go, play with them!"
"But that's not all!" Khessa goes on, starting another ritual, way less spectacular (she simply chants and gesticulates some minute with her arcane focus) but way more quick than the last one.
"Ev'alish," she smiles at her beloved dragonborn "would you try telling me something nice in draconic?"
She listens... and after that, she promptly translates in common tongue what the dragonborn said!
"With this spell, I'll be able to understand the literal meaning of any spoken language that I hear! It will last about an hour. If I cast it before entering a dungeon, you'll be able to speak to me in languages the others do not know, if needed. I will understand. Or I might understand languages others do not expect me to. It might be useful. And since it is a ritual, it will not deplete my magical power".

(OOC: Kan's turn now, then Desert Giant's)
Kan fires a ray of frost at the Roc and activates his protective field again, granting everyone 9 temp hp (does not stack)
Ray Attack: 25 Damage: 1
Paladin - warforged - orange
"Kan..." is quite surprised Khessa "What's the matter? That poor beast was not attacking..."
(OOC: now Desert Giant's turn)

Ev'alish hurls another javelin at the giant!
Attack: 21 Damage: 10

Spurred on by Khessa's words, Gryrim lets loose his energy blast almost simultaneously with the blonde warriors missiles.
Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. + 2
