Breakbone: " Yes, yes. I am asking. And you are accepting. No time to chitchat. We got work to do. If you do this, you will have the eternal gratitude of the Order! "
"Leaders become great, not becauze of zeir power, but becauze of zeir ability to empower others. und ability you clearly lack. it is amasing you haffe managed to survive zis long out here vithout proper leadership. Were you alzo in charge of Camp Righteous? Zat vould explain much.."
And with that Hellmuth will turn on his heel and seek out Perne and ask to be shown the ill. Perhaps if nothing else he can pray with them.
He looks at her for the first time in what feels like days. She was still beautiful but it wasn't her attention he was longing for right now. He takes in a deep breath, "There is death all around us, this place is cursed. Which is just as well, but Master Ren is dying and we are still not one damn inch closer to finding out why."
Rawly draws his breath to a mere whisper and leans in close to Nemaia, "And all Eku has done was lead us from Camp to Camp. Now, we're being tasked with helping the survivors. We CAN NOT turn away this task. As Ordo Ursa, I can't at least, but I feel like we should have figured something out by now. Are we even close? We have to help these people, we may be their only chance of getting back home safely, and who knows..."
He pulls back and straightens up. His cloak does not billow. He suddenly doesn't have the energy for it. He lets the last words hang for a moment before looking over to Breakbone.
"I can't speak for my friends, but I, Rawly A'lacky, do speak for Rentaro Caeli and all of the Ordo Ursa. I will help the survivors back to the Port. The safety of those who love freedom and the light will always have my sword. But you are wrong. The Death Curse is real. And it is coming for us all."

"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

While leaving the commander's tent, Breakbone keeps shouting about "undead" and "duty", and similar things.
Perne then introduces the party to Sister Cyas, priestess of Helm, while Ord goes trying to camìlm the commander down. Sister Cyas explains how 10 of the soldiers are infected by the shivering sickness, disease caused by the bite if insect. They are terribly low in insect repellent and even more terribly close to the swampy Aldani Basin.
Hellmuth will go through his items and give Sister Cyas his share of insect repellent from their supplies

OOC There, Inspiration!
Some of the soldiers believe in the precepts of Helm and gladly, although in pain, pray with Hellmuth. Others, too scared of the imminent death, don't know what to believe.
(OOC - thanks - still have my last inspiration apparently hehe)
Hellmuth will also make sure to stop by the supplies tent to cast purify food and drink over what he can to perhaps help stave off further spreading of any health concerns over spoiled food, or diseased water.
Nemaia nods at Breakbone, then takes Rawly by the arm. "Walk with me." As she leads him, slowly, through the camp, she speaks to him. "I understand your concern for your friend. Losing someone close to you is always hard." She looks down, to her side. There, her childhood friend Paivis, walked along with them, unseen to all but Nemaia. He smiled up at her. "I've lost many in my life. I will lose more before my end." She pulled off the bandage from her hand, revealing an open wound. Across her exposed arm, dozens of scars littered her skin. "I've sacrificed much in my life to ensure others will never have to endure the things I've seen and done."
She stopped, pulling Rawly to a halt. Turning toward him, she looked him in the eyes. "What we are doing, we aren't doing for your friend Ren. We aren't doing it for these people. We are doing it for the world, and the future of that world." She looked to the sky, and took a deep breath. "I'm prepared to die for this cause. Are you? Are you willing to forsake your very soul so that others might save their own? It may seem we are wasting time, and getting nowhere, but we have to keep pushing forward. We'll find some traces, some clue hidden in the jungle."
"I am concerned for my friend and mentor. He saved my life and I have to repay him before I don't have a chance to. I am ready to gove my life, my frustration is with finding nothing. No clues, no hints..." Rawly looks back toward the others to make sure they weren't being listened to. "...what if we don't find anything? What if we can't stop this? This is huge, Nem. Larger than anything I have ever heard of. Who can steal the souls of those bound for their gods? That's insanity. And we're getting our asses handed to us at every turn. Look, I need more power. I am strong, but it's not enough. How do you do it? Can I learn? I need to learn magic!"
His eyes are piercing and fierce. He knows she won't explain what she has gone through to obtain her powers, but maybe he will get some kind of hint. He just doesn't know where to look. Rawly stares into her eyes, unflinching. He needed power, more than what he had swinging his sword. He needed to be able to keep all of them alive and stop this thing that is stealing the souls of every mortal. And killing Ren.
Rawly's cloak starts billowing dramatically, but not from him thinking of doing so.

"You don't want the power I wield." Nemaia stared Rawly in the eyes a moment, searching for something. "There is a reason I don't care about my soul, Rawly. There is evil inside me, and it will escape. It's just a question of when, and what I can accomplish before then. If you sacrifice your soul for your friend, what exactly do you think it'll do to him, in the end?" She placed a hand on his arm. "You don't need more power. You're powerful enough, Rawly. I trust in that, and you have Hellmuth and myself to support you. "
After checking on the ill and letting Rawly and Nemaia talking to each other, Eku approaches the party having the care of not to be heard from any other: " There is something wrong with the commander. I sense a strong enchantment on him. "
"What are you suggesting, Eku?" Nemaia kept an eye on the old woman, wary of her words. (Insight 12)
"I might be able to dispell the enchantment, but I would like to understand what that is about. I do not see any spellcaster around, and whatever creature able to cast such a spell is powerful. "
Breakbone: " Yes, yes. I am asking. And you are accepting. No time to chitchat. We got work to do. If you do this, you will have the eternal gratitude of the Order! "

A dwarf with a canoe on his back? What could go wrong?
Eku: " No, Hellmuth. I mean an actual powerful spell. The behaviour of the commander might be just a facade. His thoughts are of concern and fear. "
"What do you want of us?" Nemaia said, nodding. "If we can help find who is doing this, we will."
A dwarf with a canoe on his back? What could go wrong?
Eku: "We should go around the camp and investigate whether, when and how the commander has changed...his manners. As discretely as possible."
