Droknin Deception: 15
Droknin signals silently to Cassius that he will cross the bridge to have a better view of the crevasse. Meanwhile he believes that the darkness is unnatural. How can possibly a Leonin not being able to see in the dark? He makes halfway the bridge to have a better look down at the dark hole.

Droknin and Cassius step out onto the bridge. They finally get a better look at the bottom of the ravine. It is littered with bones. Most look like deer and sheep... but there are a few skulls that look disturbingly humanoid. Also visible is the body of a human man in drab clothing, lying face down at the bottom, near the northern bridge.
As they stand on the bridge, everyone hears the following. It is not a sound. Rather, you hear these words inside your mind.
Kitty cat, kitty cat
Why you want fight dragon?
Need to prove you are strong?
Fighting dragon will prove only that you are tasty, kitty cat.
If you want great destiny as supper, we be happy to eat you and save you long walk into mountains, maybe? Win / win, yes?

Cassius steps back and readies his staff, preparing to get into a fighting stance as he looks around the room slowly. "So are we going to get paid more for dealing with things messing about in our heads?"
"Who said that??" Droknin tries not to say it too loud, but he is deeply offended by the words. "I shall prove you wrong... Who or whatever you are... Show yourself!!"

Garrin drops a lit torch into the crevasse. It more clearly illuminates the 20 ft deep trench. The sides are rough and seamed, with many handholds which would allow for easy climbing. The bottom is littered with bones and you get a better look at the body. It looks like a farmer. He is lying face down, and his long brown hair is matted with blood.
Droknin looks around for the voice... not realizing it is telepathy. Nevertheless, he spies something trying to hide behind one of the columns, on the east side of the crevasse about 25 feet away.
It is a scrawny, disgusting looking creature, with a single, massive green eye in the center of its face. It is peering out from behind the column, trying to hide but doing a poor job of it. Once again, you all hear a voice in your minds.
One, two, three, four, five
A kitty-man, a half-man, a hellspawn, an orcspawn and an elfy walk into a cave
What could they be looking for down he, it wonders?
Lost? Unlikely.
Curious? Most likely.
What do they want? What can they offer?

Kemp has a point, this creature is not part of the deal. So far, there's no need to waste our resources, Keashirryl decides. The only question remaining is if we can negotiate, and if so, do we leave a threath to our and others' safety behind.
She looks down at the pit for a moment. "How often do you leave this place?" she asks the creature.
Carefully listening to the answer and the conversation between Garrin and the one-eyed monster, she tries to recall if she has ever heard or read of any similar creature, and the danger they possibly pose.
Droknin sees that the others are willing to talk with the creature rather than fight. He will hold the javelin, in case the creature does not want to talk.

We like to trade. We trade with soldiers to guard their tunnels, and they give us tasty meats.
Perhaps you have some meats to trade? We adore flesh, but flesh that thinks and talks is best.
But most of all we adore the glittery sing-song of the weave. Have you anything that is touched by the weave? It sings so pretty. We will take that and you can pass.
We never leave this place. Why would we? So many glittery songs down here in our pit... and the soldiers keep us fed.

I think this is a deception. Garrin would absolutely do these things if necessary, but he's trying to work his way close enough to attempt the psychic armlock via Fey Presence, and causing this creature to be frightened. I'd like to get it to run outside.
