Hamish approaches the edge of the deck, hands planted firmly on the railing and standing a bit back from he edge. He watches the water race by with a clearly awed look, enraptured by the small details of their newest adventure.
We should try to rest as much as we can on the journey, with one of us always keeping watch. I'll take the first watch if the rest of you want to find somewhere comfortable to lay down.
Hamish glances up at Ida's words and suddenly finds himself yawning, not realizing how tired he is after all of the action they've recently faced. He nods and looks around for a spot to nap, settling on a coil of rope and quickly passing into unconscious.
The party gets a good long rest. When you awaken and come above deck you see the captain with a look of consternation on his face, gazing over the rail with an eye glass
Every horror story Hamish has ever heard about the sea rushes into his mind and he looks in the same direction, trying to ascertain what could concern an experienced captain.
All accounts of perception involved in this report back the same thing. There is a spot on the horizon off the starboard side. No more information can really be gleaned by unassisted eyes at this range.
The Captain spits over the rails and grimaces. 'Well, that depends on how you define monster.' he answers. He barks an order at his first mate who begins passing orders to the crew.
'Its coming straight for us. We're going have to try and outrun it.'
"Outrun What?!?" Ida yells up to the captain. She immediately scans to make sure everyone is still close by and then frantically searches for Peter. She has learned that she can tell by the expression on his face as to how concerned she should be about the situation around her.
The blood drains from Hamish's face as he watches Darwin take the spyglass. The young man is clearly distraught, his mind racing with the worst of possibilities for what might emerge from the sea to destroy them all.
All you can really see is that the spot on the horizon resolves in to a wave. As you watch, it becomes clear that this wave is in fact heading straight for the Ravensmast, though far away, and is cutting through an otherwise calm seeming ocean.
Hamish blanches and his eyes go wide. He suddenly looks both terrified and nauseated. But he seems to shake it off and looks around the ship to see how he can help, swallowing his anxiety and focusing on escaping whatever is coming at them now. He sees a lone crewmen pulling rope to help with the sails and falls in behind them, ignoring the raw feel of the rope on his hands.
Agnarr nods silently as the ship moves out into the bay and gets underway.
'Well, get comfortable folk.' Ida is told by the captain as he wonders by, and y'all put out onto the open water.

By the time Ida makes her offer, Darwin is already snoring at the bottom of the mast.
Caper remains vigilant though.

((Perception 14))
Ida, noticing the stare over the rail, smiles and tells everyone to be ready. She moves closer to the rail herself to see what she can.
Darwin wanders over as Ida states her warning, wondering what the matter is.
"You see anything up there?", he telepthically asks Caper, who had taken to resting on the top of the mast.

Hamish turns to the captain, his hoarse quavering with anxiety, "What is it? A sea monster?"
The Captain spits over the rails and grimaces. 'Well, that depends on how you define monster.' he answers. He barks an order at his first mate who begins passing orders to the crew.

“Aye, you are being very cryptic, Captain. What are we looking at?”, Darwin adds.
He is tempted to send Caper to look but is afraid he might struggle to make it back to the ship.
”Can I borrow a spyglass?”.
The Captain grimaces, 'I ain't sure but I'm not taking chances.' He passes the spyglass to you as he steps away to oversee the work.

Darwin takes the spyglass and uses it to look at the object in the distance, trying to get a clearer picture of what it might be.

"Now that is odd", Darwin mumbles as he lowers the spyglass, shakes it, and looks again.
"Do you often find waves coming out of no-where heading directly for you?", he asks of anyone around him, starting to sound a little more nervous.
