"I think Hamish could be a solid choice to hold the keys. He's strong and determined, and he knows how to protect things." She smiles at Hamish as she says this, she wants him to know how proud she is of how hard he's been working.
"Agnar and myself can take out the 2 guards, with Hamish as back-up. Darwin and anyone else willing to fight can be the next out of the pen, helping the rest of the prisoners out. As aoont as we get the keys, they will go to Hamish. When we get the guards weapons, we will come back quietly to get Antonius out. We may need Darwin to help distract the guard (s) at Antonius - luckily it seems that most enjoy his performances for Gruuk."
Darwin struggles to sleep knowing that in the morning their fates would be decided, they would either escape or things would go from to worse.
He spends his waking hours running over in his mind what he can do to help the outcome be a good one, and watching the others in the cage, looking for signs that they might crumble under the pressure.
Hamish watches the gate in the dim light and nods slightly at Darwin's words. He pads forward, moving slowly, and ready to open the gate on Ida's mark.
Ida throws a small pebble to make sure all are awake. She makes eye contact with Hamish, Darwin, and Agnar. She holds up 2 fingers and motions for Agnar and Hamish to move out.
The Agnar joins Hamish in padding silently to the gate. Agnar looks to Hamish to make sure he's ready then pulls open the first gate, finding the keys still sitting in the lock. He retrieves them and passes them to Hamish with a waggle of his eye brows.
Hamish creeps forward once more, readying the keys to open the second gate and reaching out for the familiar thrum of his magic once he is past the runes.
Hamish gently pushes the bars to test them, and once he finds them unlocked, he nudges it open and slides to the side, nodding at Ida.
At the same time, he lets the roil of emotion, anger at their captors and sadness at the prisoners and exhaustion from the work, well up inside of him and start to coalesce in his right hand, his left hand gripping the keys tightly in his fist.
Ida decides to walk instead of trying to sneak. As there are 3 of them, if they are walking and are seen, they can state that Gruuk set them on a task. If they are caught sneaking, they will lose their advantage. She confirms she doesn't hear anything, touches Agnar's arm and walks out of the gate towards the 2nd gate and guards in silence.
The Guards outside the second gate, one either side, are still entirely unaware of what's happening after nearly a full 8 hours of overnight watch, their eyes are heavy and tired.
Ida can see the guards and see they are facing away. She looks to see if there is anything that can be used as weapon between her and them or if they've laid their weapons down.
Ida for goes the rock. She motions for Hamish to stay back and then touches his arm for guidance. She touches Agnar for guidance as well, and points that she's going after the guard on the right. She moves as close as she dares, then sprints up behind him and attempts to smash his head into the rock wall.
Ida grabs the back of the sleepy Orc and drives it forward. Startled, he struggles against the force but is unable to really resist and his face crunches into the bare strone with a crunch.
Such is the overwhelming force of Ida's strike and the lack of resistance from the Orc, he is dealt 11 damage and reels from the wall stunned and dazed.
Agnarr rushes out just after Ida and catches the other guard as he turns dumbstruck towards his comrade's bloody face.
He grabs the side of his face and shouts 'Elding!' The orc's body convulses as electricity courses through his body, taking 8 damage.
Darwin loads his sling and moves forward, sending a stone flying towards the Orc Ida had hit, aiming for it's temple.
His aim is not true however, and he winces as the stone huts the cavern wall. He was worried by that noise, but hearing Agnarr shouting was even worse, this was not exactly a quiet escape.

Agnarr punches his palm, 'Sounds like a plan.' he grins.
The other prisoners have grim faces set.
(I'll jump to the morning tomorrow)

You see some signs of nerves but most of the people who were here when you arrived seem to be handling it about as well as you.
You awaken to the sound of a key turning in the lock and then receding footsteps.
Darwin turns towards the gate, his keen eyes cutting through the darkness to view the scene as he whispers, "I think this is it", to the others.

Darwin waits patiently for his part of the plan to kick in, but he does load his sling in readiness just in case.
Ida moves to the gate and nods to Hamish that she's ready for him to open it.
Hamish creeps forward once more, readying the keys to open the second gate and reaching out for the familiar thrum of his magic once he is past the runes.
Darwin moves forward as well, not as far as Ida but in range of his sling in case it is needed.

The only thing handy are a few palm or smaller sized rocks that lay loose by the mouth of the cavern.
