"I am very sorry, I did not expect this much corruption from the local leaders, given what I have seen of chieftess Eerika and yourself. I am very grateful for your rescue."
"I had hoped to put a little fear into a complacent people, to try to get them to see the dangers that they face, before it is too late. but it looks to me that corruption has set in, we will get only obstruction from them, I believe."
Viktor looks sad
"I hope I have not done too much damage politically for chieftess Eerika, with regard this town"
Viktor looks Soren in the eye
"well, I am at your mercy, what would you have me do? I would like to continue the hunt, but if you believe I am to much of a risk, I can leave"
Krayne doesn't hesitate, he walks up to the boys, his armoured form menacing enough even without speaking, shield slung on his back weapons sheathed.
"That will be ENOUGH, leave the child alone, you must be the bravest boys in the whole village to attack a smaller boy like this, be ashamed of yourselves."
He moves to position himself closer to the boy being attacked and will separate the older children from him as much as possible without hurting any of them.

Pyra walks away from the group a few feet to settle down, though she was not threatened, she is shaken by the events that just transpired. She claws her hands through her hair, frustrated.
"First we lose the symbol, now we denied any form of help from these people. This day is not going well. No. This is not going well at all. Not to mention that we are easily recognizable, so we can't even hope to sneak in. And they'll be keeping a closer eye on us. Just what I need, more people looking at me. Viktor!" She calls out to the other, white eyes glaring. She stalks over to him and leans into to whisper-yell at him.
"You call Soren out for her actions, and now you do basically the same thing what could have possibly made you think trying to intimidate them was a good idea!? Fear is never the answer!" She steps back and groans into her hands, form deflating.
"The one village I'm actually able to visit after such a long time and people already hate me. I hope your friends are having better luck then we are."
OOC: Maybe Ursal can sneak in. He's not bad with the Dex stuff, especially if one of the druid types has pass without trace. Since we didn't go to the elders together, maybe there's a good chance of success. Sounds like you guys need a drink (hint, hint).

"I use my javelin to keep monsters away. Much like that talisman in your hand drew us to you and drove those cowardly older boys away." Ursal shows the boy the crackling energy that runs up and down the charred piece of wood. "I used this javelin's magic to kill such a monster."
He leans down to touch the boy's arm. "What magic do you have in your hands to scare away monsters?"
He smiles brightly. "I haven't seen any monsters," he replies. "But they've stolen our sheep too," he adds. Ooc: I'm inclined to escort the boy on his errand and see what we can find at his place. We could hail the others, could we not? They are within earshot, correct? Although maybe we should get some mirrors first?
OOC agreed, Krayne would see this "mini quest" through but we should let the others know. Looking at Soren, he adds "I don't know what has gotten you so upset, I'm not sure I want to, but we will need an hour at the most I imagine, just do whatever you were going to do and we can meet you somewhere. We were going to go to the tavern before we ran into the child so how about there?" To Viktor and Pyra "Obviously you are welcome to come with us, Soren can look after herself I'm sure, but maybe we should stick together - if something does come up it would be a shame if Ursal and I had all the fun and you missed out. Oh and we are going to try and buy some mirrors too, we think it might work against our foe. Farmboy, tag along if you like, or if you prefer stay with Soren, up to you."

Viktor comes over and takes Ursal and Krayne aside and quietly warns them about the town leaders
"be warned, the local leaders of this town are corrupt. they have chosen to live in comfort and count their money, rather than lift a finger to protect their people."
"they told Baltus that he was on his own and that the attacks were not their concern. we should be on guard in case they attempt to actively interfere with our hunt, for I believe there is a possibility they may by working with our enemy."
Turning back to include the whole group again
"I have a steel mirror already, but it is a great idea to get more for when we face the monster again."
Viktor watches Pyra talking to the child and listens to their conversation
"My trouble is some of you remain ignorant to the knowledge your difference doesn't aid us in our work," Soren begins glaring in Viktor's disrection. "It's actually a barrier to overcome and not exaggerate," she adds looking back at Krayne from Viktor.
The boy gives Pyra a surprised look at her cloven feet and horns then Viktor too.
"Are you sure you're not monsters," he then asks in a small voice looking to Ursal now with a frown.
Soren then chuckles and sighs. "No boy," Soren begins. "Where do you live then," she asks with a softer expression.
The boy stares at the group now blinking, he seems overwhelmed by this new aid. He then points towards the north of the town pass the temple and the market towards the White Waste Gates which you passed through to go to the stronghold.
"The...the..there," the boys answers Soren.

He bends down again to his new young friend in an attempt to provide comfort. "We may look different from you, but we all share one common goal - kill the monsters and protect your village. First we need a few supplies," Ursal explains, pointing to the shops. "Several mirrors so we can avoid the eyes of the monsters. Why don't we shop together - you can get the bread and milk and we can get our mirrors. Then we can take you home and you can show us where the monsters attacked your home. It might help us understand where to find them."
Ursal gets up, smiles, then says: "Now you know us. What's your name?"
