Lignum gives a glance at his fits and will think about all his range attacks. He never really got the hang with bows and such. He will turn to the rest of the group and say
Well I don’t know how useful I’ll be at range, I think we should maybe go below the web to see what is going on. Lignum takes care to hide the fact that he his terrified of spiders as he didn’t want to be seen as a coward. He will then lower his rope onto the other side and tie it off to the edging of the wall. He considers the possibility that the noises they are hearing are spiders and that most of the people must be dead. But he didn’t want to bring himself down. He just needs to see it for himself.
If everyone agrees he will climb down the rope and look around the bottom, while attempting to be as quite as possible. Athletics for climbing: 13

If everyone decides to burn the web he will get out his tinderbox and light a fire on a torch and start burning all the webbing that he can.
Seeing the little guy rush ahead in spite of his fears, Percy and his honor find an inability to not follow suit. “I don’t think this approach is the best course of action, but I am with you Lignum. We will vanquish this evil together.”
His feline dexterous nature allows Percy to climb down almost as if he is floating down, or flowing down. He is able to keep his eyes forward to perceive danger; while also using his glaive as a bolster/climbing stick and keep the possibility to throwing a javelin in mind.
“stay alert everyone, this may come down to us getting the jump on whatever lied beneath this webbing.”

Wellis starts hearing the voices as he arrives at the top of the wall, growing stronger as he looks out at the layer of webbing covering the town. "I'll keep an eye out from up here for now." He calls out to the rest of the team, pulling out his loot as he peers down into the town and tries to listen more closely to the voices.
Wyn notes the spider webs and tries to recall if he has ever seen something like this before in the High Forest.
Nature check: 6
Wyn then readies his short bow and gives an affirming nod to Lignum and Percy, ready to face whatever evil has befallen this place. Wyn follows the two of them down the opposite side of the wall into the city. Wyn long ago learned to camouflage himself behind the slightest of natural covers thanks to his Mask of The Wildand attempts to do so amongst the spider webs.
Lignum finds himself in a twilight world clouded by spiderwebs hanging in blankets overhead. It was dark inside Westmarch, not blackout blind kind of dark, but definitely comparable to deep twilight or early dawn. There are noises far off in the darkness.
Nothing seems to take notice of him.
Zodiac returns to Verakova with a beak full of webbing, and then appears to be very upset that the webbing won't come free easily from his beak. The raven's mouth is full of webbing that is very thick, much thicker than normal spider webs; some of it is almost like thin yard. The raven's mouth is stuck closed, and he needs help getting his beak freed.
Percy joins Lignum down below in the dark. There is nothing that stands out to him except for the noises in the distance, the same ones he'd been hearing. He is followed by Wyn, and together they establish a safe space at the bottom of the rope inside the city.
Wellis can see nothing from the top of the wall that he hasn't already seen.
Wyn reaches the bottom of the wall. Observing his surroundings, he thinks back to his travels over the centuries. Wyn thinks to himself about his 200 years of life. A relative youth for the elves. Ancient for most everyone else. Wyn thinks that nothing is new under the sun, as they say, and that he must have heard tell of this type of occurrence.
History Check: 4
Wyn turns to Percy and Lignum. "It seems that we will have to go further into the city. Should we just tell the others to climb down or try to find the gate and open it?"
Wyn then looks off into the gloom, using his darkvision to see that which surrounds them.
“What do you think of the gate first for retreat, Then venture deeper into this craziness?”
His grip on his weapons tighten, as his throwing hand’s javelin is primed for reactive throw, and his off hand keeps the glaive nearby in case something rushes them.
…
If another team member comes down, Percy will turn around and look for the mechanism or lever for the gate:
Verakova will follow rest of the party members while murmuring something to herself in a harsh yet thick accent:"Degahr!"
Then she pulls a small fork out of her Mess Kit in order to extract the webbing from the bird's beak and calls for the attention of the raven, and casts Light on it for better visibility:
"Zodiac, good boy! Let me take a look at your beak. Do you want a delicious piece of jerky?"
That’s a good idea, we might need a quick exit out of here. Lignum will then follow Percy and Wyn to the gate to see if he can help open them. He will also try to find a mechanism to unlock it. While he is moving he will take careful note of the noises in the distance. He doesn’t like them, not one bit.
Crappy attempt at introducing Emilia, I apologize! :<
The minotaur would stroll along behind, returning from whatever she was doing at the time. Her robe was jet black, with a golden cross embroidering the entirety of the rather expensive-looking suit. Her fleece was ivory white, her horns a glossy light grey and a bible in her offhand. She stares down at the web with both a confused and disgusted look on her face. The small amount of skin she had on her face looked to be as smooth as fresh linen. From the looks of her, she seemed to be off lollygagging per usual, either filling out some religious wright or picking berries.
"My, what seems to be happening here?"
She calls with a confused, almost child-like tone, opening the said bible and flipping through it.
Wyn couldn't really remember anything like this in the past.
The city stretched out around them, houses and mansions on the western side, the commercial district on the eastern side of the road that led to the Keep. Wyn could see the buildings ahead of them, see the road, and see the spiderwebs that were draping down from the spun overhead as they gently swayed above them. Everything seemed...well, not normal...but there weren't monsters or madmen screaming in their face yet, so that was a plus, right?
Zodiac hopped up and down and looked very pleased as his mistress casts Light and picks the webbing from his beak with a fork. He seems way more excited when his beak is cleaned, and is very enthusiastic about receiving a jerky treat.
It's easy for Wyn, Percy, and Lignum to spot the chain holding the portcullis. The gate is actuated by a chain hoist system that is counterweighted so that raising and lowering it are simple. It's barred, at the moment, but the bar looks easy enough to remove. It'll take two people to lift it out of the way, though.
Lignum can clearly see how to unhook the chain and hoist the portcullis up and how to lock it in place once it's up.
Percy puts down his glaive and javelin to turn towards the portcullis. “I may need help from 1 of you, and someone with a range attack watch our back.”
Verakova finds the enthusiasm of her familiar quite amusing, and she lets him hold the glowing fork in his beak when he's swallowed the treat.
When Percy attempts to move near the portcullis, she will ready the spell True Strike in order to cast it immediately on a creature that might attempt to leave it's temporary lair.
After Lignum tells everyone how to unlock the chain, he will turn to face the noises of the creatures and will try to defend everyone if some monstrosity comes into view. He will all do a check around the area nearby to see if he can see footprints or any other signs of life and possibly where they went off to. He would also like to light a torch so that everyone has a better view of the surrounding area, since he knows that not everyone can see in the dark.
Wyn, seeing that Verakova is guarding their backs and that Lignum is far too short to even reach the bar, steps forward to help Percy. "I'll give you a hand"
The gate unlocks easily when Percy and Wyn remove the bar and release the counterweight. It opens, providing a way out to the south road and the vagrant camp where everyone had slept the night before. Nothings stirs when this happens.
Lignum can see A LOT of footprints on the ground. There are footprints everywhere from all sizes of beings and manner of mounts; boot prints, horseshoe prints, wagon wheel tracks. There is nothing of specific interest that would stand out as unusual in an urban area.
Percy uses his feline nimbleness (climbing speed 20ft/rd) to collect the pitons up the outer wall and bag them, then rolls the rope into a coil on the ground in one natural whipping movement. He then licks the fur between his fingers back into perfect alignment while returns to the group.
Stepping into a protective position in front of Vera, he gets back into a position ready for anything with both a javelin and his glaive at the ready. “Lignum would you like to join me in the front? and whoever wants to take positions behind us for cover can do so. Keep the others posted if you wander off to the sides, we are only as strong as our unity dear friends.”
As he finishes his rallying speech, he begins walking forward at half speed toward the first intersection, his ears and eyes watching and listening carefully.

"Lignum, take care and ask for help if you find something hostile."
Then she will command Zodiac to collect a sample of the webbing and bring it back so that she can examine the content.
Does Verakova recall information regarding the exact type of creature or plant that can spin such kind of webbing?
