With Tessa knocking on the door without reply Grahl eyes the thiefling Elder Guron and Roy. Unsure of what it is going on.
We have to go in! he says while looking at Roy Lets try to kick it down he waves at Tessa to move aside to make room for Roy and Grahl.
Grahl watches Roy to try and time his kick to land at the same time, when Roy moves to kick Grahl will do the same hoping the joined effort will be enough to break it down.
Since we are exhausted im aiming for the joined effort to give help to Roy to cancel out the disadv and let him do the kick check.
"My point is it doesn't matter who's in charge, you need to communicate what is going on in your head to the rest of us, or when you change course it will strike us suddenly and jarringly. I for one react badly to that. I'm trusting you to have my back while I take action in whichever direction we have chosen. When you suddenly change course without explanation it leaves me feeling cut off and unsupported."
Otis will reply, but he has a small smile. Standing up he will say, "We should probably go join the others."
To the telepathic message he replies, "Your free not to trust them, even make preparations should you be right or gather evidence, but keep it to our group. Their our leaders. They have the trust and support of various groups in the village. We are in a crisis. People are scared. We need them to trust their leadership or there will be chaos. The villagers know us but don't trust us. As we grow in power that distrust will only grow. We want the council handling the villagers or you will have a dozen different groups of villagers wanting you to solve their problem in a dozen conflicting ways, then being angry at you when you wont."
"There's a reason no one remembers the names of the heroes who died making the shielding...Fear. It's the same reason the banished are remembered as the banished and not heroes that made the shielding. They lived. And like all mortals they had failings, when they did. Fear."
Roy nods at Grahl and draws his sword. “Courage, Grahl. Always courage.” His sword begins to emit light, and you can see the way Roy’s dedication manifests as a piece of reality more real than the world around them. (Channel Divinity: Sacred Weapon)
Flashback: Falken, after making their way to the council, will wave everyone off. "You all go on ahead, I need to rest. I'll meet up with you all later." He'll then make his way back home to rest, slowly making his way to his bed and sitting down on it. He grabs a vial filled with a light blue liquid and downs it and soon, all his aches go away. He then lays down and falls asleep.
((Falken will awake 6 hours later and relax for the remaining 2 hours, making his way out after that to find the others, if they aren't asleep by the time he get's out.))
Klok watches the younglings try to break down the door. He walks over to the door, takes out some water, places it into the locking mechanism, and shape water freezes it to break the lock in order to open the door.
Grahl & Roy: Tessa moves quickly to the side allowing Grahl and Roy access to the door. As Roy holds his sword up and it begins glowing, they begin to feel more confident in themselves, even in their exhausted state. With a grunt, they both kick out at the door simultaneously as hard as they can, but their effort isn't quite enough as the door jiggles a bit and moves in slightly, but does not give.
Klok: You pour some water into the door lock and freeze it and though you hear a metallic crack, the door doesn't seem to be held shut by the locking mechanism and still holds shut.
Otis & Gillian: You step out of the barracks and start down the hall when you hear Roy and Grahl make a loud grunting noise followed by a loud "Whack!" as if someone has kicked a wall or something.
Falken: You make it home and crawl into bed before sleep overcomes you.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Taking a step back seeing neither their kick of the freezing of the lock was successful Grahl follows Roy's lead and takes out his hammer. Waiting for Roy's strike to finish and to time his own swing.
He looks to Tessa Is there another way into the room? A door or window?
Holding his hammer firmly with both hands Grahl aims for the hinges, trying to remove any solid spots for the door to hang on to.
Action: (with both hands) Warhammer Attack: 23 Damage: 5
Roy: You bring your glowing sword down hard and it slices into the wood at the top and splits down the middle, your sword getting caught more than halfway down in the wood.
Grahl: The hinges are on the inside, but you bring your hammer down into the wood above where the top hinge would be on the other side and it shatters a decent sized hole causing the door to be pulled almost out of the frame as Roy pulls his sword free.
With a crack, the door breaks off the lower hinge falling away and you hear the clang of something hitting the floor. Looking over, you see a handaxe that you assume must have been wedged roughly between the door and the frame to hold it shut. Inside, you see Farthran lying on the floor and Brendan is no where to be found. There is a window on the far wall to the left that is sitting open, the curtains blowing in the breeze.
“Really?” Gillian turns to Otis, assuming he is about to burst out of his boots rushing to investigate… “I’ll be there when my slow nornal human legs get me there” no quips to no one else while walking in that direction.
"Really." Otis will head towards the wacking sound at a walk but still slowly out pacing Gillian. He looks for anything out of the ordinary on the way.
Otis & Gillian: You make to the side room near the council chambers as Roy and Grahl rip the door into pieces.
Klok: You find Farthran to be alive, but unconscious with a nasty looking knot on the left side of his head.
Roy: As you place your hand on Farthran and push healing magic into his body, the knot on his head seems to deflate and sink down, not gone, but definitely healing.
Farthran's eyes flutter a bit as he moans suddenly attempting to sit up, "What in the nine hells happened..." He attempts to pull himself up by one of the bunks. "That little bastard! He hit me with my own axe!"
Falken:
As you are lying asleep in bed, even unconscious, you can barely make out whispering nearby that starts off soft but begins to get louder over time. Slowly but surely your body wakes as you feel something is wrong and you suddenly feel lips lightly graze your ear as they whisper.
(Make me a wisdom saving throw against a DC 20 please sir.)
Klok: Farthran nods at you and says, "We had been in the room for a while and Brendan seemed worried that something might have tracked him to the town hall. I assured him that between Tessa and I we could handle it, but he asked me to secure the door and window. Just to make him feel better, I put my axe on the bed and wedged one of my handaxes into the gap between the door and the frame. When I turned around to see how I might be able to secure the window better, Brendan caught me with the blunt end of my axe. Didn't see it coming until it was too late. Did you find anything that would explain what's going on with him?"
Falken: You wake up with a start, looking wildly around the room, but as you look around, you realize there is no one else in the room with you.
Klok looks to the others in the room and then back to Farthran "You have known me for a long time and the rest here their whole lives. Listen to what they have to say" Klok will help Farthran to the bed and sit with him while the younglings speak
