Seeing the bandit swing wildly and miss Chonk gave Sindri a bit of relief that was quickly replaced with distress when the bolt fired by the other bandit hit Lefaris! Trying to steel herself so she doesn't miss again, she attacks at the one that hit Lefaris..
Guroz you flick your blade upward and slice deeply into the side of the bandits neck. They stumble back clutching the wound with their free hand; just in time as your wooden sword sweeps past where their head would have been.
Sindri your blast of power slams into the bandit hard causing them to drop to one knee in pain. Their entire chest is a smoking ruin and they look close to defeat. Seeing this the blue robed figure scrambles forward and draws a dagger which they slam into the bandits back. The crossbow clatters to the ground as the bandit falls forward, blood pooling around the body.
Chonk and Lefaris you are up!

Chonk fleetingly contemplates leaving this last bandit alive, but then resolves, No their life is forfeit.
He steps in, feignting to one side, causing the bandit to stumble one direction as he pivots around the opposite direction to deliver a body blow followed by an elbow to the side of the head.
Unarmed Attack: 19 Damage: 6
Martial Arts Bonus Attack: 19 Damage: 4
If the bandit still stands, he will pivot in a direction so as to not provide any cover for them from ranged attack. Otherwise, he will move towards the blue-robed victim of the initial assault.
Chonk you feel ribs crack beneath your first blow and the bandits neck snaps with the second as they drop to the ground like a sack of potatoes.
Combat is over...
You run over to the stranger in blue who is still crouched over the dead bandit, dagger in hand. They are breathing heavily and do not immediately look up.
"So, what was that all about?" Lefaris asks the robed man as she moves over to stand near them. Her eyes scan the area, on the alert for any other bandits that might be nearby.
The blue robed figure gets to their feet carefully and sheathes their dagger. You get a better look now you are closer and they appear to be of the same race of the villagers but with a darker skin tone. They share the brilliant green eyes and bulbous nose, but the rest of their features are covered by their robes and hood. The robes look quite expensive, with gold trim and a crimson inlay and what you can see of the clothing beneath looks equally opulent. A prime target for any bandit.
"Thank you strangers." they give a brief bob of their head in greeting, "These brigands followed my from the borders of the Westwood and would have killed me if not for your timely intervention. I owe you a great debt."
They glance at your drawn weapons Guroz and back away a few steps, "I... I do not know if they are common here. I am not from this place, but their kind grow in number each day as the invaders land on the eastern shores. These Pillagers were far from home."
"So this is what they call a pillager." Lefaris says with a glance to the gray bodies. Turning back to the robed man she gives him a smile. "There is a village just ahead on this road. we have some business here, but you can travel with us back there once we are done with what we need to do at one of the farms nearby."
Sindri walks up to the stranger, "Hi there, I'm Sindri, Sindri Beren. You say you are not from this place? What do you mean by that? Not from any villages around here or not from this square land?"
Gurozquickly agrees with the others that the threats have been dealt with and puts his weapons away. He too gives a nod and a small thumbs up gesture, "Guroz here. And how far is this 'eastern shore'?"
Chonk roll investigation as you search the bodies.
"Yes I was alone, I am a merchant." the stranger replies to you all, "I travel throughout overland so I am from no one place, but if you mean where are my people from? We live far to the east; across the Deep Ocean in a place called the summer Isles. I am not sure what is meant by square land?"
To you Guroz they explain, "The eastern coast is around two weeks from here on foot I believe. A dangerous place to be these days."
"I was travelling to Needlehole with my..." they suddenly look panicked.
"Oh no my Lamas. I was forced to cut them loose when the Pillagers gave chase and... Oh no!"
They look at you imploringly, "If you are venturing further would you look for them please. I will reward you of course?"
Chonk you search the bodies and find the following :
Light crossbow with 10 bolts in good condition
2 Iron swords, damaged but useable. (There was a third but it shattered as its owner fell)
3 sets of worn leather armour (Studded)
A small pouch containing 20 emeralds
4 blood stained bed rolls and blankets (They each had one strapped to their backs)
You also note that Sindri's Eldritch blast knocked a branch from the nearby tree that might make a good staff with some work!
It is clear from your investigation that these Pillagers were poorly supplied and desperate. They look gaunt and dirty and carried no possessions to speak of other than their armour and weapons and these have seen a great deal of action.
Chonk will hoist one of the swords and turn it with his wrist a couple of times.
(Is this a monk weapon?)
He will gather the loot together for divvying up.
"I have no use for the armor. Maybe our merchant friend can discern if the bedrolls and blankets have enough value to carry for sale later on."
He looks to Guroz and says, "I would like to see you take the crossbow and bolts. Having another person that can be effective at range makes all of us more formidable."
To all, "I think the merchant should get a share for his roll in all of this. What say all of you?"
"Oooh!"Chonk says excitedly as he retrieves the fragment of wood. "There is some nice grains here. I think I can work with this and make it serviceable?"
"I am betting the merchant views us saving his life as all the reward he needs from these bandits we have slain." Lefaris says with a frown. "If he views it otherwise, then let him speak up and request something, otherwise I believe we should take what we think is worth anything and get moving." She glances to the merchant. "I don't have a problem looking for your animals, especially if there is a reward in it for us." to her companions she says, "I want to get to the farm before too much more time passes, as I want to get back to shelter before darkness comes."
Chonk leans in to speak clandestinely with Lefaris, “You are probably right. I was just thinking that having a merchant in Needlehole that has an over abundance of goodwill towards us, might benefit us in future transactions.”
He then tries to determine if the damaged sword is worthy of use (monk weapon) or should be cast into the pile of loot.
Then more loudly, “I do agree that we should make haste.”
To the merchant, “How many llamas are we looking for?”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While the rest are talking with the merchant, Sindri starts looking for the lost llamas. Not sure which side of the road to start on, she went the direction the merchant looked when he was looking for them distraught. Figured it was the best bet she had. She starts looking for any tracks or sign for which way they would have traveled.
