"You're my kinda guy! We can make a stop at one of a couple ports.. You should be able to find some gear needed to handle this situation, then we'll come back. Easy as pie." She says nonchalantly.
“We should not bring along the survivors with us on this joint venture, if even for calculating reasons, such requires more supples to feed and manage, as well, on the sea communicable diseases run rampant. We should get down to as small a crew as possible before we do what you are suggestion.”
”I do however have one question that will determine how much I care about this endeavor… have you seen that these seafolk have magical abilities or studies, or only physical aggression and machine force?”
The boat begins to rock a bit as it crosses through a patch of choppy water. Hanging decorations clang against the wall while a picture falls off and lands on the floor. "****! I just hung that.." The Tabaxi captain smiles as she leans on the table to steady herself and looking around the group, she speaks. "Well, I plan on dropping off those we have on board when we port for supplies. Then, when you are ready, we shall come back! As far as how do we help the people? Well, I am confident, that if you find any further survivors, you will do what is right!" The Captain moves to the desk and stands facing the wall, speaking loud enough for you all to hear. "They are called Sahuagin, they are a fish-people that have been at odds with Palma Flora for a while. A young female took over the Sharkfeather Clan and word has it, that she wields incredible power." She turns back around and leans back against the desk, almost seductively, but not toward any of you. As she turned around, you can see that her eyes gloss over a bit, as if she's fantasizing, as she continues. "She has a staff that I believe is a source of her magic, it's also heard to hold incredible value. I could care less of the power it might hold, but if you help me get my hands on it, I will give your group 500 gold coins to disperse however you wish. As well as a third split on any additional treasure we find. How does that sound?"
Ant looks at the group and captain"No you misunderstand my words....I do not suggest bringing them with us that's ludicrous. However, those that survived lost everything, and you propose going back and finding the TOWN's treasures and keeping them for ourselves.....I suppose if one of you salvage what's in MY house you would keep it for yourselves then?!"Ant says rather incredulously
A look of shock comes over the Captains face when the implication, that she would rob the houses, is thrown out. "Of course not! That's pure craziness.." She reapproaches the table. "I am not asking you to steal from their homes, I'm asking you to get the staff of the Sahuagin leader for me, and any possible treasure that even the islanders might not know about. That is all... That doesn't sound too bad to me. Just think about it. We're about a days travel away from Port Damali. We'll circle around again when we dock, in the mean time, my boat is your boat." She gives a wink to Korgen then gives a wave to the man who let you in. He proceeds to open the door and allows you all to leave.
The man letting you out is wearing typical sailor gear, however, his set looks a little better taken care of. He has a small scar that travels from his right temple and down his cheek.
To any that leave, you walk out onto the deck and are hit with a fresh ocean breeze. The sun is getting ready to set, which, out on the ocean, looks quite beautiful. A lot of the refugees are getting ready to try and rest, while a few others are standing by the right railing of the ship. All the ship hands that you saw when you first got on board, are finished with their leisure activities and are now working on various different parts of the ship. A couple tarps have been erected to help protect the refugees from the elements.
Malirys thinks to the story of this staff, imagining it getting into the wrong hands… as perhaps some of the others leave she continues discussion with this ravishing creature, “if we find the staff would it not be ours? I’ve no issue with the split of other treasures, but I would imagine the staff is best in the hands of someone who both understands it’s power, and would seek to use it fairly or keep it out of the public sphere…”
Korgen keeps an eye on the scarred man in the new uniform.
“At the risk of sounding like I have a sense of humor: does any of this look fishy to you? The Captain suddenly isn’t the Captain, and that fella’ there is wearing a new uni despite being an old salt… the Tabaxi hung up a picture in her cabin? On a rocking boat? This place is bizarre. Dwarves just don’t belong on boats. If it weren’t for the money, I’d want off.”
Ant leaves the cabin and wonders aloud "Something seems off...This captain paying us 500gp for the staff they have no interest in leads me to believe that someone does have an interest in the staff, but who and are they the evil type? Those that were on this ship, this is the same captain that picked you up? How fortuitous that this all happened for the captain...."
“There is such a thing as blind luck, but I’m thinking if we find this staff I will keep it or destroy it, depending on what type of magic it possesses. We don’t want powerful things falling into evil hands… I assume you are all of neutral or good alignment are you not? Perhaps this is a more important question than if we should go on this treasure hunting snorkel~“. Malirys turns her inquiries toward the group, to see if they too see the issues here inherent to the request.
The Tabaxi, getting the feeling you are eyeing her down, in a... non-threatening way, gives off a sly grin and turns around, she heads to her desk and bends over it, sticking her butt out slightly. "I suppose I have no way of knowing if you'd hand over the staff or keep it, or if you'd even tell me if you had it at all." She spins around and leans back against the desk. "But I have ways of persuading people to do what I want." She gives you a flirtatious look with her eyes while she eyes you down as well. "I don't believe we were properly introduced, my name is Blossom, but I go by Three Earrings. I am the captain of this ship... And your name?"
Everyone;
I forgot to describe the captain, so here she is.
Tabaxi Captain: She is a female Tabaxi with snow leopard-like spots. She has 3 earrings in one of her ears and wears a leather corset. She sports a captains hat and puffy pants, as well an undershirt that puffs up at the sleeves. The color tone of her outfit is that of dark and light browns, and she has a small pouch hanging off her hip. On the opposite hip of the pouch, is a sling where a blade would normally rest, except she didn't have it on her at the time. You are unsure of any wounds as her clothing covers most of her body, and whatever is showing, is covered by white and grey fur.
Male Human: This darkly handsome Human is heavyset and strong, and has a keen mind for games of chance.
Female Half-Orc: This Orc is soft-spoken and likes animals more than other people.
Male Sea Elf: This green-complexioned Sea Elf joined the crew only a few days before. As a result, he has no idea how to work on a vessel such as this. He hates the sea devils with a passion.
Female Dwarf: This female is the ship’s pilot, and she has a knack for predicting the weather.
Male Human: This tan-skinned man is the ship’s navigator. Despite his muscled physique, he isn’t very strong.
Auraani had stepped out of the cabin with Korgen and Ant to think about what the captain had said only to laugh unexpectedly when Korgen speaks up. She mellows a bit as Ant begins to speak. "Agreed, there are definitely odd things going on here. Someone obviously wants the staff for their own desires, and as you say, currently we have no idea if that's a good or bad thing. We'll definitely have to keep our eyes open as we venture forth."
“My Dearest elegant captain three earrings, blossom of the sea, you do flatter..” Malirys plays along a bit, flirtatious in her speech, and casual in her indifference to how revealing her garment drapes or doesn’t upon the curves of her smooth drow skin, “If you are implying that there are things you wish me to do to you that would be more… shall we say entertaining… than receiving some random staff from the sea floor, I may be enclosed to oblige… seeing as we are both… such delectable specimens of our mutual races…”
Malirys pauses for effect, but begins to walk away from blossom, like a buffer fly or hummingbird readjusting it’s angle of approach, “however depending on what type of magic the staff possesses, you are correct in your assessment that it will not find its way into anyone’s posession I do not trust, and since I have a feeling you wish to sell it, This outcome is unacceptable to me.”
“so here it is: if we do find the staff, and it has dunomancy magic, I will be keeping it, and if you wish I can give you my share of other treasures. If it any other type of magic, I may still want it, but then,” she leans back in, breathing heavy on blossom’s chin and chest, “well then we’ll have to come up with a solution… even if that negotiation takes many many nights of back and forth.”
Blossom listens intently as you speak, watching as you strut around, a delightful grin coming over the captains face as she enjoys this back and forth. 'This is refreshing' she thinks to herself. As Malirys get's close to Blossom and finishes speaking, the Tabaxi raises her paw and places it on Malirys' cheek, and you soon feel a claw scratch down your cheek. Just deep enough to draw blood. "I sure hope you would not... rob... me of this treasure." She pauses for a moment as she lowers her hand down to the desk, leaning back against it. "It would be a shame if more bodies were added to the pile of those lost at Palma Flora, and all over a silly little staff. Let's make sure we don't make ridiculous choices shall we? For I too would hate to miss out on these bountiful negotiations." Blossom says very flirtatiously, blowing a strand of hair out of your face. Even through her flirting, you can tell that there is a hint of seriousness to what she is saying.
malirys touches the scratch with her fingertip and tastes the blood. She seems comfortable in uncomfortable situations.
“It sounds like you know much of this staff dear blossom, and that it is in fact much more important than you make it out to be…”
she looks up in that way where the whole neck is revealed, “500 gold! Either you play us for fools or you think ourselves in need or coin! Desperate and unknowing travelers caught up in a bigger game.”
“what are its properties? And why send others to do your own dirty work if you care for it so?”
Auraani will make her way over to the navigator and introduce herself, "Hey there, my name is Auraani and I'm trying to help these poor people as much as I can. What can you tell me about this ship? How long have you been part of the crew?" She's not really the delicate flower or flirty type, but she knows she is fit and attractive enough to draw the eye. She'll play that up a bit with an innocently playful touch here and there when it's appropriate.
