"Interesting..." Ayoola says as Gris explains himself. Before delving further into his backstory however, she notices Adoy looking at the rats. "You know, if you're still hungry I'm sure we can get you something better than rats."

Ennis would have been quiet and reserved throughout the whole trek to and conversation with the Reeve. He WOULD, however, have done his best to get a read on the old man and his motivations: Insight: 1
He would also remain quiet on the trek back, silently wondering to himself why the Reeve would have requested this particular group. Certainly he himself had been asking around about work opportunities for the past few days, but as far as he knew the others were all fresh off the boat, so to speak. He also watches the rest of this strange, motley crew, trying to learn what he can about each one of them. He isn't terribly surprised when Gris's illusion suddenly fades, thinking about his behavior thus far in comparison with the old stories, but he does get curious when the small gnome suddenly takes a keen interest in a trio of rats nearby.
OOC: Well, I do believe that's the first nat 1 of the game. (Facepalms) Guess it had to happen sometime.

Adoy wanders over to the rats, offering a bit of food from his rations. animal handling5.
If the rats will talk to him he will try to ask them if they know of any humanoids, a little bigger than himself, hiding in the city. He explains to them that this Halfling will probably have a lot of gold or other human treasures.

You cannot read the stern countenance of the old man. Ennis has met his match.
"At the very least, I'd suggest waiting until morning," Ennis says in response to Gris's question as he still watches the interaction between Adoy and the rats.
"You've all only just arrived in the city, several of you from quite some distance, so I'd say some rest is called for first. We can begin searching for this halfling fellow after a good night's sleep and some breakfast."
Adoy turns back to the party looking rather disappointed.
"These city rats are not very friendly, they will not even talk to me. I don't think they would have noticed the Halfling we seek unless his riches consist of food."
He then says to Ayoola "I would not eat these rats, they do not look very healthy, and there is plenty of food available here without having to hunt. One should never take a life unless it is necessary for food or defense."
"So..." Kathleen says, "What do you guys think we should do? Since the target doesn't know we're coming, we could try talking to him before restraining him to try and learn all we can."
Though you can tell she's kind of unsure of their employer, the prospect of a group adventure excites her at some level.
"The guy fled to a port town," Ayoola says and begins rubbing her temples, "Chances are he is looking to buy passage on a ship. We should ask around the docks and talk to ship crews."
Kathleen says, "But didn't the Reeve guy say that this half-ling is in the Screaming Eel Inn? Shouldn't we go there and question him or spy on him or something?"
"Alright, to the Screaming Eel first then," Ennis finally agrees, "although I would say that our dear benefactor the Reeve merely said that's where he was last seen. That doesn't mean he's still there."
He takes a moment to look around the group as they walk.
"Also...if our aim is to talk to or observe this Todd Merryweather, it might be better if we don't all go in at once..."

Would you like to use animal friendship?

Adoy see that these city rats don't seem as friendly as the forest creatures and casts animal friendship.
Thank you JJ
Gris asks group "So do you have any plan how to do it?"

OOC: do we know where this goods are stored or we have to "ask the streets" ?
You think that Todd Merryweather has possession of the stolen money. Find him and you will find the goods.

(I think it's still night)
Kathleen says, "But didn't the Reeve guy say that this half-ling is in the Screaming Eel Inn? Shouldn't we go there and question him or spy on him or something?"
Ghorbash
"Screaming Eel Inn. Our bounty was there last. That is where I got to find him", Ghorbash says abruptly.
I'm assuming the man gave us pretty clear directions on how to get there, and hopefully arriving soon.
Gris "To the inn then"

Ghorbash nods at the red haired man. "Yes. I wait outside. You have pretty words. So, better luck than me."
