The room is full of Gohma.  They're everywhere, falling back as Rum descends into the lair...  Something grumbles, loud and dangerous, in the darkness on the western side of the room.

Sorry begins making her way down the tunnel. 

"Kora, wait!  I'm going too!"

Greko scurries down and into the huge cavern and ahead of everyone else before they climb down. He touches a web to get a sense of how many spiders are on the web (web sense)

Tuto continues to slide down the vine until he feels it is safe enough to drop down, landing with a roll. In one swift motion, Tuto draws a ward in the air with one hand and draws his blade with the other. With the ward finished it glowed brightly in mid air, and then sliced in half by the gnomes blade. It popped in a small dance of fire, which coated Tuto's body. With that finished, Tuto takes a stance and waits. (Tuto casts Blade Ward on himself)

The cavern is suddenly alive as the Twilight Embers enter.  

Multiple Gohma emerged from the roots and darkness and fog around the entry point, swarming in to attack the first three of the Twilight Embers to hit the ground.  Two, including one big one, go after Greko.  The first one sprays web everywhere but misses while the second, much smaller Gohma rushes in to bite him.  It drops on his spiderlike back and bites into his abdomen.  The other two go for Rum, but are unable to pin him down long enough to bite him.

It was just as Lelith descended that she saw one of the Gohma bite down on Greko, she quickly aimed her bow and shot two arrows in quick succession hoping to lay some of the pressure off her friend.

First Attack:

To Hit: 1d20 (13) + 9 = 22
Damage: 1d8 (6) + 6 [piercing] + 1 [Dreadful Strikes] + 3 [Favored Foe] = 16

Second Attack:

To Hit: 1d20 (19) + 9 = 28
Damage: 1d8 (3) + 6 [piercing] + 1 [Dreadful Strikes] + 3 [Favored Foe] = 11

As the Gohma rush out and attack, Rum starts to move. He had been ready for the Gohma to attack, and reacts with blistering speed. 

“Uh-uh, wait your turn”, he chides the creatures, as he dodges their attacks with the aid of his magic cloak and goes in the offensive.

He brings a fire enveloped fist up aiming to connect with the jaw of the first Gohma, before spinning around with the momentum and aiming an elbow at it. Fire erupts from any hit that connects.

Reaction: 
Draconic Strike 1: 3+9=12 Damage: 6+6 = 12 (Fire)
Draconic Strike 1: 5+9=14 Damage: 2+6 = 8 (Fire)

Ro, seeing what is happening below, begins to descend as quickly as he can down the tunnel to the cavern below.  

Another spider rushed from the dark and attacked Greko, but was unable to penetrate his thick exoskeleton.

A harsh mechanical bark emits from Oten's mouth, and his steel defender rushes down the vines to take up a position next to Greko, with Oten making his way just behind it. His mechanical hands clamp and unclamp the vines as he descends.

The steel defender's scorpion-like tail darts in at one of the attacking Greko, and then prepares to intercept follow-up attacks on the druid.

This gives Oten time to prepare a shot. Acid canister loaded up, he takes aim and tries to line up as many Gohma as he can before letting loose a condensed stream of clinging acid.

Reaction: Deflect Attack. If an enemy adjacent to the steel defender makes an attack against an ally, the attack is made with disadvantage

The Gohma attacking Greko makes a squelching sound as the Steel Defender stabs it with its tail. 

Acid sprays at an incoming line of Gohma.  Unbelievably, all four of them dodged the flying acid.  Kora flies up next to Oten.  

"Let me help!"  She says.  She claps her hands together in front of her body and a Thunderwave rolls over the Gohma's...and all of them are jostled a little...save for the one that explodes into a pile of yellow and green guts.  

Web sprays.  One of the Gohma's nails Oten, while another takes aim at Kora but misses.  

Rum watches Oten get covered in webbing and looks across to the Gohma responsible.

"Hey, you dropped something. Here have something in return", he says shifting his position and moving around the Gohma in combat with him, without moving away. He looks for a brief moment like a cat about to throw up a fur-ball. Then lightning erupts from his mouth, covering as many Gohma as he can.

He then turns back to the one he elbowed previously. "Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you", he says and gives it a quick knee followed by a spinning roundhouse kick. Any hit that connects erupts in flames.

Action: Attack 1 Breath of the Dragon: Damage: 1+3= 4 (Lightning), DC19 Dex Save to take half (either a 20-foot cone or a 30-foot line that is 5 feet wide, whichever gets more Gohma and misses his friends)

Three Gohma's are hit by the lightning as it flashes across the inside of the cavern, momentarily lighting up the room and the dozens and dozens of eyes looking at the Twilight Embers as they fight their way into the Gohma nest.  Of those three, one dies instantly, while a fourth leaps away with minimum injury.  Another dies as his flaming fist hits it, and yet another is explodes into fire from his knee and dies.  

More Gohma's emerge from the dark.  One tries to web Greko with no effect, while another sinks its fangs into Tuto.  One lunges at Lelith from the dark and misses, one's fangs clang harmlessly off Ro's armor, and one can't figure out enough about what Oten is to sink its fangs into him.  

Sorry draws her bow and steps back, shooting one of the big Gohma's that is spraying webbing everywhere, then pulling another arrow and firing again.  This second shot hits one of the previously injured smaller Gohma's and kills it.  

A Gohma jumps at Rum and misses.  

There's a noise in the dark as the battle rages.  Suddenly, from above, and as if drawn by the previous attack, a huge form drops down, landing on Tuto.  Her huge arms begin to swing, enormous claws targeting the Kokiri.  

Greko attacks back and misses not used to being this type of spider.

Tuto focused his attention to a gohma heading straight towards him, not minding the fact that these feinds have made the Great Deku Tree their territory. His concentration meant nothing in their home. A bite from the side knocks him off balance, the poison making his head spin for a second too long as the monster to make all others fell from the darkness and lashed into him. Battered, bloodied, and cuts too deep for him to want to think about, Tutor rises to a knee. This hasn't been a great day, but, it can only get better.

Tuto grabs his gift, the whistle with his mask immortalized on it, and blew. Subterfuge be damned, the party already started. His eye sockets ignited, and his body was coated in blue fire. (Tuto casts Cure Woundson himself, healing 15) He spun his blade in his palm, pointed it at the queen, and charged. 

Attack: 15 Damage: 10

(If it hits Tuto will expend a bardic inspiration to use Defensive Flourish, adding 1d8 to damage and AC)

Defensive Flourish: 6

As the Gohma Queen drops on Tuto and starts to attack, Rum's reflexes kick in and he jumps up with a flaming fist trying to catch the queen in her soft underbelly. As he does so, not only does fire explode at the point he connects, but he feels the Ki inside her. Senses the life force running through the queen and how he could reach out with his own Ki and disrupt it, stunning her.

Tuto's blade fails to pierce the monster's carapace, though Rum's attack was a different story.  There's a splash of fire, and then she shrieks, stunned.

Drawn to the defense of their queen, the nearest Gohmas all attack Rum.  Four sets of fangs miss as they close in around him.  

Lelith flew up slightly above her companions to have the best angle of fire, her eyes sharpened like the eyes of an eagle, she drew two arrows at once and fired them at the prone Gohma Queen's legs and head hoping to impair her. She could have fired each arrow alone but where was the fun and challenge in that? Lelith smiled genuinely. "This is how you shoot a bow, Sorry."

First Attack:

To Hit: 1d20 (20) + 9 = 29
Damage (CRIT!): 2d8 (3, 4) + 6 [piercing] + 4 [Dreadful Strikes] + 3 [Favored Foe] = 20

Second Attack:

To Hit: 1d20 (9) + 9 = 18
Damage: 1d8 (8) + 6 [piercing] + 4 [Dreadful Strikes] + 3 [Favored Foe] = 21

Ro shines his bullseye lantern in the direction of the Gohma queen, lighting her up for all to see.  He casts Dragon's Breath on himself at 3rd level and runs up to Rum's aid.  The elf-dwarf takes an exaggerated breath, and exhales a cone of fire.

Movement: Towards Gohma Queen (keeping a 15 ft distance from it)

Bonus Action: cast Dragon's Breath on self

Action: exhale 15 ft cone of fire at the Gohma Queen and any nearby gohmas (so long as Rum is not in the crossfire)

Lelith's arrows hit hard; one buried in the bottom of the queen's head.  The other clipped off one of her legs, sending it crashing down among the Twilight Embers.  Then Ro's Dragon's Breath rolled over her, as well as one of her offspring.  

(Queen Gohma's Speed Reduced by 5 feet per turn)

Oten charges in at the downed queen, shield raised, and thrusts his javelin at her. Circuitry lights up in his arm and extends down the filament connecting him to the javelin. Within a second, the tip of it is glowing with a heat that distorts the air around it. Once, twice, he plunges the javelin at her as his steel defender moves into position beside her.

Attack 1: 19 Damage: 10 

Attack 2: 17 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. 

Bonus Action: Branding smite. If either attack hits, Oten deals an extra 3 radiant damage.

Steel defender also gives disadvantage to her next attack while adjacent to it.

As things get bad, the Gohma seem to start planning.  Scheming.  Strategizing.  Something.

The one nearest Oten arches its abdomen and starts to spray webbing but misses the warforged.  

Kora, rushing in to help Oten, swings a tiny wooden staff across the spider creature's back, where the magical attack severely injures the Gohma.  

Another Gohma leaps onto Oten, sinking its fangs in.
