For their part, the Orcs and Hobgoblins seem largely indifferent of the Dawn Guard once the song is over. There is a little jeering and ugly looks exchanged, but they go back to their usual drinking and eating and chewing and spitting and saying ugly words both in Goblin and Orc as well as a few in Common, one set of which is 'stu'id bahd' from an Orc with a particularly large and nasty set of teeth that make speech damn near impossible.
The Hobgoblin that had leaned up next to them smirks and steps away, going back to his nearby table and having a seat.
Shavaris's eyes go wide at the mention of Vader. She nods her head and says "Let's take our rest and then leave this area. Anyone really need to hit the shops in the morning or should we just leave? I also think we should meet somewhere else in the morning, not here."
Johnathan waits until the hobgoblins are out of ear shot, I think we have outstayed our welcome. We should leave at dawn. I think Shavaris has a point, maybe we meet outside the tavern where the orc kicked some folks out. He looks at Kerwyn, so the others have received our info, that’s good at least. We should try to keep in contact with them. He looks over at Aoe, I’m gonna try something, I’m curious what they are saying. I’ll be back in a minute. With that Johnathan goes into his room and ritual casts comprehend languages. After 10 minutes he returns to the others and continues to drink while listening in on the hobgoblins. He stays for 30 minutes. If he learns anything he will tell the band, otherwise he returns to the room to have a rest. Overnight if Aoe wishes to make small talk Johnathan will engage with him but overall he rests until the sun rises again.
The night is long. The cool salty breeze permeates the night and creeps under doors the same way that the sound of the Imperial Forces do. While it's obvious that some of them rest during the night, most of them are up raising hell, laughing and merrymaking and just having a good time, there are also fights in the streets, some between locals and some between comrades.
Still, even with everything going on. the Dawn Guard is left alone while they remain in their rooms. The morning comes, and slowly both suns work their way into the heavens above to trek across the sky once again. The rain gives way to a clear sky, and sunshine glistens off of pools of water and wet streets.
The port is full of ships that seem to have been emptied by the Kobold nightshift, and many of the captains are already on deck commanding their bosons crews, getting sails prepared. Most of them seem in a rush to cast off.
Johnathan awakens from a night of rest. He didn’t sleep too well in the night, always looking at the door to see if they would be attacked. As he goes downstairs to get some breakfast he meets up with the rest of the band. Hello, everyone. Johnathan makes sure that they were alone before continuing. I think it’s about time we look at this port. Last night the hobgoblins said they were expecting more to come here before travelling east. Johnathan confirms that they agreed and they set off to the port. Johnathan gathers his mount and makes his way to the port. He keeps his hood up to block the sunlight and makes a direct path to the port, avoiding the hobgoblins along the way.
Shavaris wakes in the morning and stretches out on the nice clean bed. It had been a very long time since she had slept in bed and she was enjoying it. She slept well and is looking forward to getting on with the day and get on to Eternia. She isn't thrilled about the days they will be spending on the boat, but well, it's gotta be done. And they need to get away from this army that is forming. Though at the same time, she wishes there was a way to warn Dabbard about it, she fears this army is heading in the direction the skullsplitters were going.
After grabbing a quick bite, she joins the rest, warmly greeting her elk as they get to the stables. "Lead on, lets get to the docks before the boats we want have already departed."
Kerwyn gathers Old Ironsides and heads to the docks with Shavaris. On the way, he looks for any spot that they could buy more provisions for the overseas voyage, but otherwise they head to the docks to secure passage on a ship to Eternia. He also looks for any ginger, just in case anyone feels seasick. There's nothing worse than a seasick flail snail. Kerwyn appears anxious to get on board the ship and to shove off. He squares his jaw and smells the salty air, and says "All I ask is for a tall ship and a snail to steer her by."
As they wait and try to look for an appropriate ship, he glances over his shoulder periodically, looking for the hobgoblins with the emblems that they had seen previously.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The port is full of ships. There are more than a few in the docks that are listed as outbound for Eternia, as well as ships that are slated for ports in Hyperborea, Hylia, and even the frozen poles.
The Dawn Guard received three offers for captains that were setting sail for Eternia. First was the captain of a little ship called the Scourge, though it was an awfully small ship that presented concerns about being capable of hauling the Dawn Guard and their mounts. The ride, unbelievably, was free...under the caveat that the Dawn Guard would have to work as crew during the trip. They were set for a port on the north east coast of Eternia called Whichaperch.
The second ship, the Cyclops, was a big vessel, frigate sized, offering passage for payment, including meals and berthing, for two hundred twenty five gold pieces. There was no doubt that the ship could carry them and all their provisions quite comfortably. This ship was heading closer to Castle Eternia, in a little port on the eastern Eternia mainland called Treeglade.
The last ship that offered them passage was the Hollyhock. A corvette that was outfitted for hauling lumber and goods like the Cyclops, she was a bit smaller, but was heading to the more northern port of Whichaperch like the Scourge. The Dawn Guard was pretty sure that she could haul all their things as well as the Cyclops, and her captain asked for less gold at one hundred seventy five gold pieces.
Black sails were appearing on the Horizon as the Dawn Guard negotiated terms and prices.
The Dawn Guard, picking the last ship, is able to board before the second sun is even above the horizon. The crew takes their mounts below deck and stables them with the other animals that they carry and lashes their carts in the cargo hold.
On deck there are many racks that are built for holding timber, and the captain, a Firbolg named Titus, explains that the ship is primarily used to haul mushroom timber from Eternia to feed the huge racing snail market in Timber Place and Nockmaar. It seems amazing, he tells them, but there are a few ships that ship mushroom timber for this reason, and there never seems to be enough.
As the Hollyhock pulls out of port, the Dawn Guard can see black sails sailing toward the docks. There are three ships, huge frigates, each baring the red emblem on the sails. A warhorn sounds from near the docks as the Hollyhock sails out to sea.
Shavaris spends a bit of time with her elk before the crew takes her below, knowing the elk does not like travel by sea anymore than she does. Once she gets on deck and looks at all the mushroom timber, she thinks of Ol' Ironsides and hopes they can contain that creature well enough so that it doesn't do anything to the cargo. After last nights shenanigans and the price to board this ship, there is no way they can buy their way out of that one.
As she tries to get settled a bit on deck, she hears the warhorn sound from the docks and it feels like a bad omen to start off their journey... she hopes she is wrong.
Aoe speaks to the captain and discusses his predicament…
“175 is no doubt a fair price: and I dare not haggle you off it… but might there be anything else you desire done? Either along the way at sea or once we have landed? I can be… a very useful ally… and very persuasive…
if you have people who wish to be introduced to, or organizations you are looking to get to know…. Or just people in need of beiko dealt with, those who get or already are in your way… my ears are open shall we say; to a solution that would cut my portion of the 175, if not even more of the job at hand requires more of our band… lucky that captains have such personal leeway, and control of their own destinies in our times yes?…” (persuasion 19)
either way, Aoe will find time to settle into his room and set up his two man tent in a way to have privacy; even if it becomes just a large curtain divider cramped into the ships hull.
Captain Titus held his chin with one hand and looked down from his lofty height at Aoe, unsure of what to say to the bard that was making a fool of himself.
"Someone, you say?" The Firbolg smiles, looking up at the Hollyhock. "You agree right here, right now, to exorcise the Golgothan from the ship...and...you can ride for...80 gold. What say you?"
Kerwyn wrinkles his nose. “Turd demon! I haven’t seen one of those since…. Well since I ate all of that kale before we began our journey. Where lives this vile creature?”
Kerwyn guided Old Ironsides below deck and away from the shroomy lumber, remembering past indulgences and their cost. He keeps his eyes on the horizon and watches for movement of the dark ships with the Vader flag.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
“My word is my bond… would you like to point us to this Golgothan… or should we just follow out nose?” Aoe grins and prepares mentally for the task at hand…
The Captain laughed and reached out, clapping a hand on Aoe's shoulder.
"You'll find swabs and cleaning supplies in the storage room. There's chamber pots in most of the rooms and a head near the aft, below deck. You may have to shovel it all out. When you're done, let me know, and we'll toss a rope ladder overboard so you can clean yourselves."

The Hollyhock was underway shortly after the Dawn Guard began boarding. They were only a few miles out as the black sailed ships of Vader's forces began docking with Timber Place, no doubt bringing in fresh reams of reinforcements and occupational forces. They continued on out to sea, finally leaving Fantasia behind, and setting off for Whichaperch in Eternia.
Shavaris does what she does and keeps to the shadows to avoid the Golgothan as much as possible... but will assist when asked directly, can't leave her friends hanging.
She had a thought about the other two groups that are working towards the same goal as them and finds Kerwyn, "Are you able to use the AURYN at any time to contact the others? If either are still on Fantastia, they should know about the incoming Vader soldiers as you call them. What do you think?"
Aoe turns to the group after the captain walks off and grins. He stabs into his coin pouch grabbing all that he can, missing 1 gold coin and catching the other 32…. “I have…. Let me see now… ah 32gold… So that means… yes, that is 12gp for each of you… and… well, the 95 gold discount I got us doesn’t hurt either… but unfortunately, I simply can’t help with the turd demon and it’s more slippery friends… i am afraid I’ve only broughy the one set of gloves! How silly of me!”
he raises his hands to show the pristine and clearly handmade and embroidered pairing. Before the others can reply, he walk over to the captain and places his 32gp into his hand, and adds “a fine deal you honor us with! I shall sing your praises across the land! And… ah yes,… the band will manage the rest!”
….
Aoe slinks off, hoping that no one notices he in fact had no more coin, the gambit of a reduction saving him from the possible 35gp share he couldn’t afford….
How embarrassing… I’ll have to get an audience or letter to father once we are to eternia, this lack of coin just won’t do! Haven’t been home in much too long … he thinks to himself as he begins to set up his tent.
Johnathan remains quiet as Aoe talks about the deal with the captain. Johnathan gives an internal sigh, great, now we must deal with this. He turns to the others. Well I guess we gotta do this. No point in waiting around. Johnathan will help with removing the monster, offering to clean anyone with his cantrip afterwards. Once everything settles down he will find a nice quiet area on the ship to set himself up in, perhaps a dim lit corner in the crews quarters. He will get ready for the trip, eagerly waiting to get on with the mission. He is concerned however with the visitor from 2 nights ago. He hasn’t seen any sign of it in a while. Was it all in my head or is something else going on? He contemplates this for a bit.
