Cursing in his native tongue as he misses his attack of opportunity from his echo's position which would have held the giant ice toad in place, Joren staggers as the vicious cold damage from the frigid ambhibian seeps into his bones. He is clearly heavily wounded and his breathing labored.
With the giant ice toad having closed into melee with Joren and Marion, he circles S-->SE to position himself on the south side of his foe. He then moves his echo 25-30 feet north to the arena wall so it is in melee range of the giant scorpion which is engaging Vilus (but on the opposite side as the goliath). His echo should now be more than 10 feet of the giant ice toad, outside its cold aura.
Bonus Action: Joren uses 15 more feet of his own movement to swap places with his echo, so he is now engaged with the giant scorpion (to the west of it) and his echo with the giant ice toad (to the south of it).
Action: from his echo's position, he swings his greatsword at the giant ice toad, but his injuries are beginning to take their toll and his strength falters. Greatsword to hit: 12 (this missed last time so I'm guessing it does again). Greatsword damage: 11 slashing on hit
Joren's voice is hoarse. "Focusing attacks on this damn frog first. Being injured already - finishing it off first before moving to the scorpion."

Malachi breathes a sigh of relief as the halfling starts moving and joins the others as they climb the ropes and make their way to safety out of the arena floor. He moves to make his way around the stands to rejoin the others. As he hears Joren’s calls to help with the Giant Toad he feels a tickling sensation in the back of his mind and thinks why not both. He reaches out towards both of the creatures and delivers a mental image of a whip lashing out. "Get out of there, the prisoners are safe now!" he calls down to Joren and the others on the arena floor.
(Spending 2 sorcery points to twin the spell, creatures must make a DC14 INT save or take 12. damage and can’t take a reaction. On next turn, the creature must decide if it takes a move, action, or bonus action, it can take only one of those.)
Vilus seeing the beasts stunned from Malachi's spell decides to take Mal's advice and start scrambling back up the rope. As he gets to the top he calls over to Marion and Joren, "this is waste of a fight, we have better things to be doing, Come on!" With that he starts running as far as he can toward the VIP box.
"We can't take the chance that these things could get loose into the city!"
Samir lifts a hand towards the frozen amphibian, a fiery red rune igniting across the back of his glove for an instant before a burst of molten fire blazes down towards the toad. The bolt goes wide, however, scorching into the sands instead of the creature.
Seeing Joren in trouble, Ashley casts healing word on her friend, giving him 10 hp back. She was going to focus on the scorpion, but with Vilus out of the way and Joren asking to target the toad, she moves the hand just North of the toad for her action.
Seeing her opportunity, Marion grits her teeth against the cold and takes her greatsword in two hands, lifting it overhead for a great swing downward on the toad. Unable to turn itself or make any move to avoid the blow, the toad croaks as the heavy sword splits its side. Intestines spill out onto the sand, sending up frosty vapours, and the toad collapses to the ground.
Marion then raises her sword into the air, pointing it at the sun above, before pointing it challengingly at the scorpion. The blade glows, and the scorpion feels the pull of the magic. It turns to face Marion and begins sluggishly moving towards her. It lifts its claws to attack, but is still struggling against the mental blow from Malachi.
The earthen hand next to the scorpion reaches down attempting to crush the giant bug, but somehow in it's sluggish state, it manages to shrug off the giant hand.
Ashley runs her fingers through her flaming hair and breathes out a disgusted sigh. Using her bonus action, she spends some sorcery points to get a 2nd level spell back.
Ashley focuses on repositioning the hand once more, but she falters for a moment and earth begins to crumble.
For a moment, Ashley's heartbeat races, and it feels like a bomb just went off in her head. Her knees grow weak, but she pushes through the pain and remains standing (Wisdom save passed. 0 psychic damage). She manages to maintain her concentration, and the hand quickly regains its form. But for that moment, an image flashed through her head. She once again sees that flame deep underground that had been shown to her in a vision. It pulses in tune with her own hammering heartbeat. But dust trickles from the roof of the chamber. Something is coming.
Joren grunts with approval through the blood on his face as Malachi's magic and Marion's blade dispatch the giant ice toad with its lethal cold aura. He manages a grateful smile up at Ashley as the fire genasi's healing magic closes the worst of his wounds.
But he is confused by what happens next. Why is the giant scorpion seeming so fixated on Marion? Is she casting a spell on it? Maybe she has rendered it weak? In any case, I cannot be leaving her to fight the beast alone! (Joren'sInsight to discern Marion's purpose with Compelled Duel: 6)
He rushes up to the giant scorpion (if he is not already next to it), while moving his echo up into the stands. With a bonus action and 15' of movement, he swaps places with his echo so that it is next to the arthropod and Joren himself is in the stands with all his friends other than Marion.
Action: Joren (in the stands) attacks the giant scorpion from his echo's position (not realizing this breaks Marion's magic if he damages the beast). Greatsword to hit: 18 Greatsword damage: 12 slashing
Vilus sighs seeing that they're going to have to kill the scorpion before being able to leave, he steps closer to the majority of the group, casually throwing a blast of edrit g energy toward the scorpion as he speaks to them, (22 to hit, 4 magical force damage) "guys the guard are on their way to apprehend Marigold right now, but they're unprepared, if we don't go and finish this it'll be a slaughter."
"The who is doing what now? What are you talking about Vilus?"
Samir glances at the other man quizzically before turning back and tossing another sizzling mote of fire down into the arena, hoping to capitolize on Joren's strike at the scorpion.
Casting Firebolt at the Giant Scorpion, 16 to hit for 2 fire damage
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Malachi conjures up an image of a spectral claw, sending a strike against the scorpion, then turns to follow Vilus toward the now empty Councilor box. “Wait, how do you know this? Unprepared for what, what is happening?” Malachi trots to catch up, taking a second glance down to the arena floor to check on the others.
As the stadium comes back into focus, Ashley hangs on to the railing and is breathing hard. She catches Vilus's statement though and the following questions from Samir and Mal. Her mind swirling with what just happened, but determined to push it away as now was not the time.
Ashley looks at the others and then to Vilus, hoping he'd answer their questions. The whole situation was strange and she can't help thinking of whoever tied up those employees as food for the monsters are getting away now too.
Burnt, bludgeoned, and now missing a leg, the scorpion skitters and turns on the spot, panicked. Marion takes a big horizontal swipe at its front legs, but it rears up and avoids her blow. It quickly retaliates with two swipes of its sharp claws, but Marion grabs her amulet with one hand and whispers a prayer, causing the claws to be turned aside by a shimmering blue barrier.
The stinger shoots out at the echo standing in the scorpions blind spot, but the attack misses. The scorpion is looking bloodied.
Despite the spectacle, something about seeing a group of people raining magic down on the monsters blow really helps drive home the seriousness of Joren's words. At this point, almost no one is still seated, and more than half of the crowd is gone or leaving.
Back in the stands with his echo on the arena floor, Joren glances sharply at Vilus, not quite understanding what the goliath is saying.
Unlike before, he keeps his voice low. "The guard is apprehending Marigold now? You are knowing this through... your people? Or deducing from what people saw and heard here moments ago? Finishing off the scorpion should only take a few more seconds. Unlike the toad with its leap, we could be leaving this one, but then who would be able to control it?" He looks to the others, who look just as stunned as he does. He is unsure of what to do.
Joren's hesitation makes his greatsword attack from his echo's position less than ideal once more.
"If something is happening, then we should be finishing this as quickly as possible. If someone is attempting to take down Marigold, they could be in for some nasty surprises, I wager." The rune on Samir's glove ignites once more, a fiery red line that loops back upon itself in intricate curves. The bolt of flame bursts forth from empty air to crash down into the scorpion's personal space with all the eagerness to finish things that the artificer is feeling.
“Yes, let’s end this quickly”Malachi agrees with Samir and focuses on the Giant Scorpion, narrowing his eyes as he drives a spike of psychic energy into the creature's thoughts. (rolled in channel).
He turns back to the group and continues walking toward the platform. “Jean Lou may be in trouble as well. He was absent from the arena today, but delivered a note that says to meet him at his office. Shall we head that way first?”
Unable to endure the onslaught of attacks, the Scorpion shudders and colapses under its weight, ending the battle. Marion heads to the rope and starts climbing up to join the others. "That's a good idea," she says. "That way we can regroup and strategize. I'm worried by the sudden boldness of the cultists. Either they are feeling backed into a corner, or their plans are almost complete."

Malachi:
"Goooood" says the voice in Malachi's head as he pushes his powers a bit further.
Both the scorpion and the giant ice toad flinch and the freeze in place, stunned by the sudden assault on their weak minds (Both failed miserably)
