Two mountain dwarves are slain and two are mortally wounded. The hill dwarves advance along with a little goblin carrying a war pick, which he plunges into the skull of one of the enemy goblins. "Surrender now or die!" Dire hears the goblin say as he charges into battle.
Seeing one of their own fighting on the side of the dwarves, three goblins drop their weapons and surrender. Three more run away in fear but are quickly cut down as they approach the main army waiting in the distance.

Another line of goblins is taken out as they enter melee combat. Three dwarves fall in the return attack of the goblins. The elves take up their swords and run into melee.

Rhi engages the nearest opponent and uses his handaxe to attack. He then he uses his offhand to pummel the same foe if still alive or the next nearest foe if dead.

During the night, scouts and watchmen notice movement along the outer edges of the goblinoid army.
The second day of the siege of Daruinjak is uneventful. That night, more stirrings and movements are reported coming from the goblinoid army. The next morning, a century of goblins is seen forming up just beyond the western gate. The elven archers prepare their bows and move to the walls while the dwarven warriors secure the gate.
