You try to hone in on the feeling again to guide the group towards where the portal is, but you can't make any real sense of the scattered feelings to hone them into a clear direction of where the portal might be
@Soloth
On the other hand, you lock into where the portal is right away as you feel Ebondeath guide you with the knowledge he got from his skeletons. The portal lies over the easternmost peak of the mountains you can see, somewhere near a waterfall
Relieved to be on dry land again, Koric closes his eyes and sends Balthar aloft briefly, to get a sense of what is nearby. The owl rises slowly, then does a few lazy circles before disappearing and reappearing on Koric's shoulder.
(( Link sense with Balthar, send him up 100' and look in all directions then dismiss and resummon ))
Through balthar's eyes, you pinpoint a pool of water flowing into a waterfall on the far side of the easternmost peak a decent way down the mountain. Strangely, the water doesn't seem to be coming from anywhere, but rather just appearing instantly at a point at the far end of the pool. Where exactly the water goes after falling over the waterfall is out of Balthar's field of vision. However, through his ears you can hear a faint hum that sounds much more like the engine of a ship than the crashing sound of a water. Combined with the small currents you can make out in the pool itself, it seems perhaps all of it is rushing as violently as the waterfall itself
Koric relates what he is seeing as he sees it then, as he eyes open he looks around at the others, adding, "Seems like more magic involved ... perhaps a connection to the plane of water. Definitely unnatural."
You all begin to ascend the mountain Soloth and Koric describe to you, prepared to reach whatever is going on on the other side. As you all ascend the mountain, is there anything you do to prepare?
As you move, the storm overhead grows stronger and stronge. Clearly, you all must be moving in the right direction, as it seems Talos is only getting angrier at your exploits
Jade looks up to the oncoming storm, "Another one coming? Is this ever going to relent? I sure hope it makes a difference once we get that portal closed."
You reach the top of the mountain, and from here, you can see a few rock shelves down is a raging river of water flowing over a relatively sizable but not massive waterfall. Stranglely, the water is flowing violently out of a single point in the rock without much indication that the water is coming from anywhere. As you all approach, what do you do?
Elandra breathes heavily as they crest the latest peak of the mountain to the tableau beyond, though she has a dancer's physique the labours of their ascent are clearly showing on her. "I didn't see any warnings about this much walking when I signed up for this." She sets her pack down as she looks out and takes in the odd water source. "Koric, Jade, you both had some better insight into this. Does anything give you a tingle now we are closer?"
Your arrow dissapears into the water, but shortly after it hits the surface, a lound clanging noise enchoes through the area, as if the arrow had just hit something and bounced off. Strangely enough, it sounds far more like it hit solid metal than any sort of stone
With a glance at Balthar, Koric crouches down and closes his own eyes, linking senses to his familiar. He asks Balthar to circle a little closer to the source of the water, being careful not to get into the out flow. Hopping gingerly down the rocks if flying proves too difficult.
As Koric watches though the familiar's eyes his anxiety tries to reassert itself, but he manages to focus on the task at hand. He reassures Balthar as best he can. Who am I really reassuring, eh?
Balthar flies closer to the rushing water, moving down closer to wherever soloth's arrow went. About 30 feet below the ledge on which the group is standing is another, larger ledge of rock wrapping all the way around the rushing water, and below it by about another 30 feet is the water itself, which rushes down into a waterfall. Flying towards it for a moment, Balthar gets a glimpse over the edge, sees that the waterfall goes down for what appears to you to be at least 200 feet onto jagged rocks, and immediately decides to stay far away from there. He remains around the level of the second ledge, careful to stay out of the way of the water, and begins peering at the source of the water. Make a perception check

Give me two perception checks for Balthar, one visual and one auditory
Balthar perception: Visual: 10; auditory: 16 (all passive 18)

Bring out your inner chatacter class...
Koric looks at it with suspicion, "Perhaps a portal to another plane."
He looks at Soloth/Ebondeath expectantly.

Balthar perception: 20
(passive 18 for sight/sound, if that makes a difference!)
@Koric
Balthar attempts to peer through the surface, but can't make out whatever is going on under the rapid rushing of the water
