Gellwin stayed silent, he disapproved of raising a dying person's hopes.....even though their deity of choice pointed to them being quite a nasty person.
Finally he blurted out,
" Have you isolated the contaminated items at least so more of your people don't die?"
Bones looks bewildered at the 'cure'. He raises his hands to settle everyone down. "There is so much we don't understand about this sickness, and most importantly of all, we don't yet know how it spreads. I need to examine a patient who is infected to begin to model how it is contracted. Please. I don't know what kind of person you are, or what life you've lived. But if you help me, even a little, it could save many lives before this sickness reaches a major population center." His tones softens and he makes eye contact with the Dwarf. "I'll do everything in my power to help you, of that you have my word. No one is here to cause you harm. Will you allow me to examine you and ask you questions?"
Bones clears his throat. "Okay, I can work with that. My name is Doctor Silas McRoy.... (( He would continue on in a conversational 'Doctor's' tone and ask her the following questions at first: ))
- When did you first notice something was wrong? Not just the blue veins, but any kind of off-feeling just preceding them? - What were the symptoms you noticed? How far in advance did they precede the blue veins? - What had you done in the 48 hours prior to noticing those first symptoms? Anything you don't normally do, or touch? Or, were you near or did you touch someone you later learned to be sick? Who? - Where were you when you think you first got sick? Who else was with you? Who else are you aware of to be sick? - Where on your body did the veins begin to turn blue first? Did they spread in a pattern, or all over? - As the blue veins spread, how has it effected you? Loss of appetite, senses, or sleep? Excessive sweating, bowel movements, urination - or the opposite, a reduction or inability to do those things? In what order did these things change, and to what intensity? How have those changes evolved as the affliction has advanced? - If there is pain, can you describe it to me? Where did it start, has it stayed the same sensation or changed as the affliction has advanced? If so, in what way?
Hulil stared off into nothing while she answered the questions. "Of course we've kept things contained best we can. Just us running relics for the Uttlot's. Came across the trinkets form Urgon's last trek. Probably that cracked blue vial at Pelc's had something in it. We wrapped it up but seems I was already infected. Mostly just tired, cold and these weird damned blue veins. Was hoping to make it to Shadycreek run and try and trade some stuff for a cure if they got it. I sold a vial to Irven Liel at the Jolly Dwarf Inn while he was with his family traveling to Uthodurn."
(( Does she give me the details I asked for regarding the timing of the symptoms and how the blue vein process spread? Bones will try to model how long a person has once infected, and if there are stages to it. Both essential to determining if a cure is possible, and if only at certain stages. ))
Cade steps forward. “When ye say that ye came across Urgon’s trin’ets, what ye mean is that ye stole them from Pelc’s. Ain’t that right?” He scratches his chin. “How many of thems blue vials did ye find?”
Gellwin looked shocked and worried at the idea the infection was on its way to Uthodurn, the Dust family had a number of distant relations living there.....plus a lot of other dwarves and elves.

(She doesn't really know, they just showed up suddenly, small at first, but spread with some regularity but she can't give any real details. She knows is sure there is a cure somewhere but doesn't know where)
"We found two, one cracked one intact. I think the cracked one is what got me."
Hulil looked at the doctor finally and swore. "How by Tiamat's name should I know! I went to sleep, next morning they appeared!? Now are ya quite done with this!?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bones closes his eyes a moment. "I meant the vials ma'am, where specifically did the vials come from?" As if something clicked in his mind, Bones looks at the visage of the many-headed dragon, then mutters to himself. "...Tiamet?"
(( Religion check, do I recognize her / them as worshippers of Tiamet? = 18 ))
"Well, that's what she told us..." Bones looks to the dwarf. "If you believe it spreads by contact with the substance within the vials, why do you fear being touched? Have you seen it spread that way?"

"Measures? You mean hiring a bunch of thugs to find something that'll help? Even my sister didn't know!"

The shivering dwarf grunts again. "I don't care. Ask your questions, but don't touch me!"

While the doctor works, Cade, from where he stands, examines the dragon mural and the tattooed elf. Does any of this look familiar?

"And... where specifically did they come from?"

Cade steps over to Bones. “Them vials were Urgon’s remember? Brought em back from Eiselcross perhaps. So someone said.”
"Well, that's what she told us..." Bones looks to the dwarf. "If you believe it spreads by contact with the substance within the vials, why do you fear being touched? Have you seen it spread that way?"
Hulil barely shrugged. "Somewhere in the ruins I suspect. No idea where Urgon got them from."
(Sure, their markings around are easy enough to remind you of the evil dragon god Tiamat.)
(@gnomes sorry, when she says “somewhere in the ruins”, what question does that refer to?)
(The Aeorian ruins up in this part of the world.)
(That’s where she thinks the vials come from, right?)
