Bones has stood back, more than a little terrified of the massive predatory creature. As Cade gestures for him to assist, he does so very reluctantly. "There there now... don't eat the little doctor..." Bones approaches slowly, first visually assessing the entry wound, and hoping to see if there is an exit wound (if it's fully punctured through or embedded within).
The griffon shuffles a little, but looks too worn out to fight it anymore, and simply lays there as Bones approaches and begins working the arrow out. Thankfully the arrow was not in too deep and with a bit of work Bones is able to pull it free and tend the wound. A few moments later the griffon rubs it's head against Bones and flaps its wings a bit before kneeling down beside Bones, as if indicating he could climb on.
"Damnit gents! I'm a doctor, not an aerial animal tamer! Have you any idea how dangerous that would be? As for the wing itself..."
Bones turns back towards the Griffon. "I appreciate the gesture there friend, but I don't like to fall, and flying is a major leading cause of falling. Trust me, I'm a doctor. That said, you still need one more thing before trying to fly."
(( Bones casts heal on it. ))
"All patched up. Now remember, don't eat Gnomes. They're friendly."
The griffon seems perfectly content to let you ride, following you all out along the ice and snow for the next few days, taking until you estimate you've gone about 170 miles since Syrinlya. The beast then insisting on trying to turn back or leave, although it does not do so violently.

(( Wait - did a stray puppy adopt us? Awww! That said, is it acting like it has nowhere to go or that it just really likes us? Also, what does it eat during those few days? Is it able to hunt for food, because if it is, we'll try to coerce it to get extra so we can save rations. ))
Realizing the Griffon had imprinted on the group, but that they were heading towards a place with known dangerous contaminants, Bones would encourage it to leave when it becomes more and more pensive about continuing on. He would have grown fond of the Griffon in that time, trying to muster enough courage to "pet" it and feed it. He would talk to it like to a person, assuming Griffon's to be intelligent creatures simply unable to speak. (( He genuinely doesn't know if this is true, so is erring on the side of politeness. )) When it does eventually leave, a quietness would overcome Bones for a few days. Another relationship lost to the wind.
(Ha, it isn't a stray. It was only thankful for helping with the arrow. I would find any large animal to feast on if possible, but it also could survive for a few days without eating. Perhaps that is also why it wants to leave. They are not that intelligent, they are feral, instinct creatures though and typically very dangerous.)
When the griffon leaves, Cade waves farewell, knowing that the creature does not understand the gesture. “Well, what a strange occurance that was then.”
(At this point, Gellwin needs to make another CON saving throw. Whoever is serving as the main scout can roll a Survival check to start searching for the ruins you're looking for!)
Gellwin, after about three hours into that day, you notice some tracks in the icy snow, two of them side by side, humanoid but definitely not human. They likely belong to the ice mephits you heard about earlier. Before long, through wind-whipped snow and biting cold, you notice a half-submerged, dark-blue stone building poking up through the ice. A gray stone door is carved to look like a face with a half-exposed skull. Scribed above the door is the word “SALSVAULT.”
Gellwin raised his flame clad fist high and lit a bonfire 50' away in front of the doorway....hopefully that would tell any elemental mischiefs around that they meant business.
Cade looks around and at the door in some surprise. “Well I’ll be damned. Didn’t think we’d ma’e it ‘ere with so little trouble.” He stores away the sled behind a snowdrift and heads over to the door to have a closer look. If it doesn’t seem obviously dangerous, he will look for a way to open it.

Cade will approach the griffon one more time and try to remove the arrow, thinking that the time spent on helping the creature is minimal.
He will also ask Bones for help, if the doc is willing to.
If the creature attenps to attack or flee again, Cade will let it be and move on.

Bones looks in disbelief. He looks back at the others. "We rode a giant frog so I guess... can it hold us all though?"
(The answer is no, it is only big enough to carry 1 person)
" Not all....but we could check for dangers and confirm we're heading the right way. I'm a bit too....well padded for flight I think"
Cade smiles at Gellwin. “Great idea that. Who wants to be our lookout? Doc?”
" Smallest is best. That wings probably not 100% still."

Gellwin Con Save: 15
(Good save!)
" Probably good we had that extra set of eyes in the sky......at least we would have had warning if something big was stalking us."
He ranged forward looking for the ruins, fire in his hands and ice in his veins.
Survival: 8
