Wilword follows the others inside. He is content to follow the others and as he does he uses his flexible casting to gain back a spell slot from his own sorcery points. Never know if there is another gap that needs crossing.

Taliesin will search the guards (all of them) and then head back, follow the group, and tell them what he saw.

Once inside the Keep

In the Great Hall you see four guards who remain. they look demoralized, in shock, and seem to be at each other’s throats. Half of the great hall lies buried under rubble. The guards have placed a body  atop the shattered remains of an oak dining table and are arguing about their next steps.

Upon seeing you all enter one of the females stops talking and points to you all. "Halt there, who ye be entering this Keep?"

Taliesin

Nothing of value is on the guards, they and their equipment, were thoroughly crushed.

Calanon frowned when he saw the guards arguing. He sheathed his weapons and clapped his hands loudly to try and get their attention. "We are here to find lady Nadar. The other guards sent us to find her whike they stayed back to defend the townspeople in the caves."

Jason binds his sword back and steps forward with shield in one hand and Hoar's amulet in second.

"I am inquisitor Jason. I came here with order to investigate 'goblins problem'. If you do not believe me i can throw you papers signed both by my order and priests in your town."

After short pause 

"Right now we where able to secure most villagers. They are outside the town. We are looking for Lady Nadar. Can you help us with it?"

 [OOC Persuasion 11 ]

The lady guards woman looks down, you see her shoulder slump from her rigid position she held upon seeing you enter  " I'm afriad Lady Nandar was in the great hall when the roof collapsed. She was buried under the rubble and died before anyone could reach her." The other guards are now looking your way as well, muttering thanks to both you and the Lathander that the townsfolk are secure and safe.

For any of you who are surveying the room

The great hall once served as a throne room and a dining room. Doors in the west wall leads to other rooms. Between these doors is a wooden staircase leading up to the second floor.

I am Tomoe Gozen, i am here to see to the evacuation of the Lady of this keep and anyone else we find inside.

I'm not sure if this means anything to you but the cause of the boulders were Storm Giants. They came down after the city was evacuated and took the monolith.

Upon hearing that Lady Nadar died in the attack, Calanon curses loudly in the native language of the drow. The mercenary stepped away and continued his rant for several moments before he calmed himself. "Then we must gather her body and return to the rest of the town's people. I imagine they would like to come and gather the deceased members of their family."

Jason "Did you find her body?"

They all look at the body under the sheet on the partially destroyed table solemnly. 

"We.. we couldn't save her."

"Damn those Giants, why now? Why our town? Another guard curses slamming his fists together, his chain mail clinking loudly.

To Taliesin the female speaks again "The Nightstone was a tourist attraction. Magical to be sure, but always benign and never more than a reason for folks to stop into town for a night. It was never of any importance."

Well, I mean not to be rude, but it must be pretty valuable if Giants are hurling boulders down at your town and then come in and take it...

Jason will move to the body and hover his hand above it.

[OOC: I want to check if Jason can use "Lay on Hands to rescue her]

Wilword looks around the room looking for anything that could be used to bridge the gap outside. (Perception  5)

"Oh, that is terrible news. Any chance you have anything to be able to temporarily repair the gap in the bridge? I am not sure the rope will be sufficient, with the fact that we will be carrying a body out now."

As he asks the questions he starts knocking on the doors checking to see what it is made of.

Beamer is not sure how to take the news.  "Who now is to be responsible for the inheritance of Lady Nander?  Who is to take the lead in defense of the city against the previous threat of Goblins and now the new threat of giants?"  Beamer looks around to see who responds or who seems to be in charge and waits for an answer.  Perception: 12

[apparently the rat that just ran across his foot seems to be in charge, uughh]

A look of sorrow fills Viclas's face, "I think the best thing to do is get the body and leave, after that" Viclas takes a deep breath "we track down those giants and find out why this happened"

We can grieve later. For now we must secure the safety of everyone, both here and back at the caves.

Tomoe doesn't drop her guard.

We simply aren't strong enough to beat a giant ourselves. We'd need an army, and that'd be for only ONE giant. I saw three haul the monolith away and I'm pretty sure there were more onboard their ships...
