Rawlings looks over the room, unable to help out either, unsure how to read anything in this mysterious tower. She doesn't get angry though, she just finds the entire thing perplexing. The fact that they can't leave the tower on their own accord nags at her though.
Vandeyr would very much hold up his arms to prevent anyone stepping into the room.
"I suspect these tiles are quite dangerous if stepped upon in... The non-prescribed manner."
"So these are what, letters? Numbers?" Tor asks of the symbols on the floor. "Wait, wait, so is this the door the dead upstairs mentioned, or the one in their room? Is this where we need to give the word, the name or whatever, or back up there? Gods I hate all these puzzles and riddles!" He slams the side of his fist into the wall in frustration.
"All I know is, there's no trolls here, and we can't even set foot in this bloody checkerboard of a room until we know what's going on. So, I'm going further up. Let's just get this over with."
Tor will turn his back on the room and make his way back upstairs, past Skeleton Hall to the next floor.
As you pass the "Skeleton Hall," you notice something that you're fairly certain wasn't there before. Each of the skeletons--who still stare at the doorway--has a glowing green rune on their foreheads.
Tor has no idea what the runes could mean, and just hopes they DON'T mean that the skeletons are about to attack. He grips his maul a little tighter and pauses a moment to make sure a fight isn't starting. If the skeletons remain where they are he'll continue up the stairs, watching the skeletons for as long as possible.

"This damn place..." he mutters under his breath.
As Tor continues up another spiral around the stairs, he comes to a heavy, wood door. It's slightly ajar, through the crack in the door, Tor can see a wall of books, lit by a bit of daylight.
"I could attempt to turn them," offers Sigi. "Though it they are merely components in some elaborate magical trap, rather than true undead, it may not work."

"Hold onto that for now Brother," answers Tor. "Let's not waste our energies on something that's not an immediate threat. Van, are these the same sort of runes as the room below? Do they make any sense to you?"
(Just thought, shouldn't Rawlings also be able to rest them, if they are Infernal?)
About to enter the room and invoke Chauntea's power to drive off the skeletons, Brother Siegfried halts at Tor's suggestion.

These runes are included in the massive "word search" below, but all the runes in infernal alphabet are there, some multiple times.
Rawlings looks at the runes and is still puzzled. "Ok, so they represent the alphabet. There are some letters multiple times so it must be some kind of puzzle? A name or phrase or something? But as to what it is supposed to be is completely lost on me. Maybe head upstairs and see if there is any information to gather. We now have two puzzles but nothing to answer or figure them out with." She scratches her head behind one of her horns. "At least not that I am aware of."

(To clarify, downstairs the floor has all the runes of the infernal/abyssal alphabet on separate flagstones that are not laid out in any discernible order. On the second floor, there's a throne room, with 10 skeletons--5 on either side--each with glowing runes on their foreheads. Each skeleton has a unique individual rune or pair of runes.)

She finally shrugs and follows Tor up the stairs.

Startled by the glowing green runes that have now appeared in the skeleton's heads, Rawlings tries to see if she can understand anything about this.

They are more infernal/abyssal runes. Each skeleton has a different rune or pair of runes on their skull.

Rawlings, being able to read infernal, attempts to make heads or toes of the runes... (do I need a roll for this?)
