As Nexus asks Kalhala about his home, he looks away and rubs the back of his neck. "I appreciate the sentiment there Nexus, but I'm uh, well good to go." he looks back at her with a smile that may or may not be plastered on. "Got everything? Need a hand carrying anything?" he looks at her expectantly and as they leave, "Bye Momma Nexus!"
Looking forward to heading out, especially with a band this size, Kalhala whistles a random tune while they walk out of Jigow. It has been quite sometime since he had ventured past the cities outskirts and he looked forward to it. He wondered what sort of creatures lay in their path and if he'll get to use his longsword, it had been awhile he thought wistfully. And that's when they see the overturned wagon.
Answering Ayo, "Well why wouldn't we?" without waiting for a reply, he unsheathes his sword and slowly continues forward, keeping an eye out for any ambushes as he does.
Aldith thanks Nexus as they are heading out of the city. She nods at her fellow drow in appreciation.
"I'm glad you are traveling with us," Aldith tells Ayo's group.
As Galsariad mentions getting to know those with a penchant for the arcane better, she casts her eyes down a bit nervously. She's never really told anyone else about the Keeper of Moontides and his gifts. For some reason, keeping this knowledge a secret has made her feel more secure, but perhaps it will be time soon to open up to someone else about it. Maybe a friend...if she is able to call these new companions her friends.
Aldith hangs back when Ayo asks if they want to check out the overturned wagon, but she asks, "What happened here?"
Mornin, having no personal attachments to the city, heads to the gate to wait for the group as soon as they split up.
It felt good to be traveling in a group again, although he wasn't sure how he felt about Ayo's group yet, mostly because he blew his attempt to hide the fact he swiped the Eye and they may be sore about that.
When several members of the group approached the cart, Mornin lurks nearby, ready to act as support should something happen.

Nexus took a moment when Mini smiled at her, gauging the expression he wore right then with the smiles she's seen before. Not saying anything, not trying to goad him into talking about it. Just reaching out--pausing only a moment before her hand touched his arm--and squeezed him reassuringly. The look she shared with him hopefully conveying that she was as much here for him as he was for her. But she wasn't sure she could say that thought without it getting lost half-way through.
"Bye, Mother---remember! Sleep and eat, don't forget."
Nexus didn't need help carrying her bags, at least. But as the journey started, and she helped out Aldith, she came to realize she'd not have enough money to copy down the spell scroll gifted to her. Shame. Maybe on the road they'd find something they could sell? Speaking of on the road---a scene, with bodies. Unsure if she saw anything, but figuring it best to be cautious as she unclasped her book from her hip and held it out in front of her, ready for a bit of a fight if need be.
Kalhala approaches the wagon and sees that the three corpses belong to an orc and two drow. Before he can investigate further, three small lights fizzle into view around the ruined wagon, their ghostly glow illuminating the wreckage. They buzz like angry hornets and float towards Kalhala. Ayo and her party let out a startled cry. "There's more behind us! We'll take care of them, you take the ones by the wagon!"
Morninglight runs to one of the wisps, and attempts to slash at it with his weapons (w/ sword; 18 to hit, 9 dmg )(w/ dagger; 13 to hit, 3 dmg).
Do the attacks seem to work on the wisp?

Mornin swings twice with his weapons, but misses both times as his target quickly bobs and weaves out of the way. These little buggers are quick! He isn't sure whether or not his weapons would work on these creatures, as he has not yet landed a hit.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nexus shoots off a firebolt that unfortunately misses its mark, sailing off into the barren wastes before fizzling out 120 feet away.
The angry wisps then leap to action. One closes in on Kalhala, one on Mornin, and the other on Aldith. They each lash out at their targets with small bolts of electric energy!
Vs. Kalhala - Attack: 20 Damage: 7 lightning damage.
Vs. Mornin - Attack: 8 Damage: 15 lightning damage.
Vs. Aldith - Attack: 24 Damage: 27 lightning damage.
Kalhala takes a hit, Mornin manages to avoid, but Aldith is wracked with pain as this wisp catches her off-guard with a critical hit! She is now bloodied.
Aldith staggers back from the force of the lightning. Pain courses through her body, and she screams, just barely managing to stay on her feet. In response, she clutches her grimoire tightly to her chest and manages to recite the incantation for a mystical armor (Armor of Agathys) that encases her body in hard, shimmering light. Then she turns toward the wisp that had caused her so much pain, and she places a Hex on the creature, taking her revenge.
Kenar moves up to the center of the group getting within 30ft of everyone grasping his holy symbol as a gray light with violet veins begins to pulse out in a sphere around him!(Twilight Sanctuary) then looking over to Aldith his hand out a burst of grey light begins to seal some of her wounds(Healing Word)
Mornin hears a cry of pain from behind, he turns to see Aldith being grievously wounded by the wisp. Unable to let his rice race partner remain in peril, he moves 15' towards the creature, swiftly disengaging from the wisp (as a bonus action), then he hurls his silvered spear at the wisp before it can do anymore harm. (22 to hit, 9 silvered piercing damage. If it hits, sneak attack does an extra 6)
You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
Mornin' then lands a hit with the thrown spear, dealing some damage to the wisp that attacked Aldith, inflicting a good deal of damage. Because he ends his turn in the twilight sanctuary, he gains 10 temporary HP.
Nexus' [Tooltip Not Found] unfortunately misses its mark. Because she ended her turn in the twilight sanctuary, she gains 8 temporary HP.
The wisps then press the attack. One attacks Kalhala, one attacks Mornin, and one attacks Kenar.
Kalhala, frustrated by his first attempt, dodges the wisps attack and then pulls from inside his Crimson Rite.
He holds his longsword out, using his Rite of the Dawn and the weapon starts glowing. The bright light emanating from the weapon shines out for a full 20 foot radius and now all hits will be magical, including the extra radiant damage the weapon can now deal out. Anyone watching the minotaur notices a slight wince as he does this, letting some of his blood leave his hand to encompass the hilt of the weapon. (2 hp damage)
He then takes his sword and swings at the wisp next to him, finally connecting with the creature, though it is an odd feeling never fighting something like this before.
(Attack: 20, Damage: 17)
Crimson Rite
As a bonus action, imbue a weapon to strike for 1d4 extra damage of your chosen type. On activating the rite, you take 1d4 damage. Rite damage is magical and lasts while you hold the weapon or until you complete a short/long rest.
Crimson Rite - Rite of the Dawn
You learn the Rite of Dawn as part of your Crimson Rite feature. While the Rite of the Dawn is active, the extra damage dealt by your rite is radiant. While active you gain the following benefits:
- Your weapon sheds bright light out to 20 ft.
- You have resistance to necrotic damage.
- When you hit an undead creature with a weapon that has this rite active, you deal an additional 1d4 points of damage.
Shayone attempts to use Faerie Fire on the wisps, but they're too small and quick, slipping through the net. She curses, and instead, from the darkness provided by Kenar pulls a blade darker still, made of pure shadow, obsidian-sharp. She whips around to flank the closest wisp and slices it clean in two. Giving a cheer, she keeps the foward momentum and moves towards another.
Kenar seeing Aldith hurt he tosses a healing word her way the moves as close as he can to get in range of all the wisps launching a grey pulse from his body. word of Radiance
Mornin attempts to finish off the wisp. (w/ short sword: 18 to hit, 5 dmg)(w/ dagger: 19 to hit, 4dmg)(+3 sneak attack dmg)
(if the first attack kills the wisp, I'd like to try to move to hit the second one with my bonus attack.)

Shayone casts faerie fire on the wisps.

Wisp 3: 15
Unfortunately, the wisps all succeed in avoiding the spell. Shayone's ray of frost then misses.
