Cat-Sylyra freezes as Hex bends over to scritch. But as her fingers move forward and back, the feline's eyes soften and partially close. As soon as the tiefling's back is turned once again, the cat opens its mouth and bares its fangs in a silent hiss before once again blurring and changing back into the cloaked figure of Sylyra. The elf pushes the hood of his cloak back to once again reveal his long, white-blonde hair. He enters the cul-de-sac and watches the others work.

"Hmm, is that so?" Hex begins to search the halfling's body for anything interesting, particularly looking for signs or symbols that may indicate they're a part of any factions. "What's your name? And what's the elf's name while your at it."
(Uragum can take the remaining gold since he's the one who searched the body)
OOC: Added the extra gold piece to Uragum's inventory.
For Hex:
The halfling seems genuine in his attempts to appease your questions. In particular, his statement that this wasn't worth dying for seems truthful.
OOC: Which halfling did you intend to search? The man you are interrogating, or one of the dead halfling's bodies?
"Terin. Terin's my name. And that was Soares. I don't know anything about him, honest. This was the first time I'd worked with him," the halfling replies.
"Really? It's your first time working together? How exactly did you two meet then? Did your employer introduce you to each other? Also, how'd you meet your employer?"
Briny lets the more experienced team members take over the interrogation, pulling out her quill and paper and jotting down notes as the questions are answered. She tries to think of anyone she knows or has run across that might fit the description of the person with ink on their hands.
((DM please roll whichever skill seems to fit here))
"I was part of Fulta's crew. She said she found some work, and we got paid up front, which--" Terin sighs as Hex removes five gold pieces from a pouch on his belt. "--I now need to find again. Along with a new crew."
OOC: The party may or may not have met someone with that description during this adventure. If everyone is stumped I might allow a roll for it, but I prefer player notes to lead investigations during the same adventure.
Uragums eyes narrow at their captive. "Was it a man as in human, or was it a man as in male, as in a male halfling?" Uragum asked. He kept a steady, piercing gaze upon him. Waiting, expecting the truth.
While waiting for Terin to answer Sylyra and Uragum's questions, Hex quickly searches the elf's body, specifically looking for any signs or symbols of any factions like she did on the halfing's body since the two didn't seem to be associated with each other.

"You did a number on him. I don't think he's waking up any time soon," Terin comments when Hex attempts to rouse Soares. "Err, can I uh...can I go now? I've told you everything I know, honest."
OOC: When a creature has been knocked out at 0 hit points, they will regain consciousness after 1d4 hours or when they recover at least 1 hit point.
I've added 1 gp to each character's inventory from the gold Hex removed from Terin. Following the same logic from earlier I gave the gp that was left over to Hex. Let me know if you'd like something different done with the gold at any time.
Briny speaks up. "I have one more question about the man, and I know you didn't notice much else about him but did his clothes seem fancy? Or did you smell anything in particular when you were around him?
"Err, no...can't say there was anything remarkable about him. Just noticed his mask, really. We met him here. This was where Fulta and us would do business," Terin answers.
(I'm going to keep concentrating on the Hunter's Mark I put on Terin, in case we need to find him again.)
If no one opposes, Hex will untie Terin and lead him out of the alleyway. On the way out, she pats him on the back and gives him a gold coin. "For your honesty. See you around, Terin."
After he has left, she re-joins the group. "Well, blue ink stained hands. He was obviously talking about Cassra, right? I know he said they met up with a man but maybe she used magic to change her appearance."
Briny thinks about that for a second. "Would that have kept the ink stains though? It could have been a small enough detail to overlook I suppose, if it takes intention to change every detail. But what about the Magic shop owner? He was writing and is a human male, I've gotten plenty of ink stains on my hands from writing before. But why would he cause his own book to go missing if he is the one involved? Either way, there are plenty of questions when it comes to motive."

Sylyra frowns, the image of ink-smudged hands flashing behind his mind's eye. "You're sure it was a man?" the elf asks. "What color was their hair?"

"Man as in human," Terin answers. "Pretty sure it was a man, anyway. I didn't care too much about the specifics," he shrugs.
Hex finds 25 gold pieces carried by Soares, along with a pair of fake elf ears attached to his own, but sees no other distinguishing markings.
OOC: 30 gp discovered so far.

(Is that the 25 gold Uragum already found haha)
Hex is going to try and wake Soares up, having no more questions for Terin at the moment.

"Well unless anyone wants to kill him, I don't mind letting Terin go. Seems to me he just got a bad job."
Terin shifts his eyes from person to person, awaiting his sentencing.
