Miesha sees Lidel raise the scepter and tries to raise her shield in time but she fails and finds herself pummled and tumbled, bruised and beaten and fifteen feet away from where she had been... "Well fu..." she says, trying to shake off the blast. I should heal myself... Regather myself... She thinks this but it is of course not what she does. Miesha feels the surge of energy inside of her granted by Jasper and she is going to put it to good use as long as she has it!
(3 spear attacks, and one Bonus Action attack... All rolled on game log.)
Mieshes rushes towards Lidel with a scream and jabs out with her spear again and again and again... She does not think she can last long against him considering the blow she just took so she uses her Divine Smite ability on and and all strikes that hit, hoping to put him down before he can use that scepter on her again!
Attack 1: 24to hit and 7 damage
Attack 2: 27to hit and 9 damage
(Haste) Attack 3: 20to hit and 12 damage
Bonus Action Attack: 21 to hit and 7 damage
Divine Smites - She will use 2nd level spell slots for the first two that hit, if more than that hit she will use 1st level spell slots. I think all may have hit? But the smite damage is below in order of used for hits in case they don't...
Smite 1: 16 Damage
Smite 2: 10 Damage
Smite 3: 8 Damage
Smite 4: 14 Damage
So if everything hit... 83 damage? (106 so far plus any Wind Wall damage?). Please confirm # of hits I used Divine Smite on so I can check off the spell slots...
Jasper's eyes go wide as his companions are tossed back by this powerful opponent. Eager to save his own skin the tabaxi casts Mirror Image on himself and then taps a claw against his blade with a vibrating ring to enchant his blade and activate his Bladesong.
Action: Vines shoot from Crannoc's free hand to rake against Lidel (Thorn Whip cantrip) but miss badly, forcing Crannoc to disentangle himself. Thorn Whip To Hit: 11 (Natural 1) Thorn Whip Damage: N/A
Free Action and Movement: Crannoc continues to urge the crowd to move safely away from the battle with the dangerous foe from the enemy pack of South Vexcall. He maintains position, surrounding Lidel, providing flanking.
The crowd continues to scatter farther away as the bloodied figure stumbles. As the crowd is dispersing, there is one figure that emerges from a somewhat shadowed corner. A dwarf wrapped in a cowl. The dwarf is flanked by two suits of armor that walk on their own. The two suits rush forward and strike out at Crannoc and Jasper.
Attack against Crannoc - Attack: 21 Damage: 16
Attack against Crannoc - Attack: 26 Damage: 15
Mirror Image Rolls: 2011
Attack against Jasper - Attack: 22 Damage: 12
Attack against Jasper - Attack: 18 Damage: 12
The dwarf stabs with a small longsword twice at Maggwyn and once at Miesha. It is clear to those that have seen him, that this is Sir Brodstin.
Attack against Maggwyn - Attack: 20 Damage: 21
Attack against Maggwyn - Attack: 16 Damage: 8
Attack against Miesha - Attack: 22 Damage: 12
The second damage roll in each one (the d6) is radiant damage as his blade is wreathed in silvery sparks. The first attack that hit flashes with white light, dealing an additional 9 of radiant damage. That player must make a Con save (DC 16) or be blinded until the end of their next turn.
After stabbing Miesha, Brodstin stands in front of the mortally wounded Lidel.
Lidel stands tall, dropping his shield so that he has a free hand. He grabs Brodstin's shoulder bruskly and with a deep scowl. You can hear his furious voice say "Brodstin, we're leaving." He draws sigils in the air with his scepter, then pointing it directly up. With a few arcane words, the pair disappear. The armor remains, still animated and ready to fight, and the shield lies on the ground.
Crannoc uses his reaction and Fey Touched connection to cast Silvery Barbs in response to Sir Brodstin's onslaught.
Jagged silver-green spikes of light branch out like thorns and distract Sir Brodstin's critical hit on Maggwyn. This forces a re-roll of the attack, hopefully avoiding the critical hit and doing less than 25 damage even if it hits. It also allows Crannoc to give advantage to an ally (Miesha) on their next d20 roll.
Crannoc is hit once. DC 10 CON Save to maintain concentration on Bless: 26 + 4 from Miesha's Aura + 1 from Bless = 31 (overkill nat. 20).
As Sir Brodstin enters her melee range, Miesha uses her reaction to take an Opportunity Attack against him (thanks to Polearm master she gets OppAttack when foe enters melee. I think this is before any of his attacks so I will not use the advantage for this but for whatever D20 roll I make next...)
Opportunity Attack vs Brodstin: To Hit - 23 Damage - 8
Miesha then curses colorfully as she helplessly watches her enemies disappear and takes out her frustration the only place she can - on the animated armors left behind.
Spear vs Animated Armor: To Hit - 27, Damage - 12
Spear vs Animated Armor: To Hit - 23, Damage - 11
Bonus Action vs Animated Armor: To Hit - 15, Damage - 8
Haste Action Spear vs Animated Armor: To Hit - 29 (Nat 20), Damage - 13 (extra roll made in there...)
(I don't think you mentioned if all previous rounds hit, and thus 4 total smites used... But I think so and that does leave 1 spell slot left so I will use that Smite on the Hasted Action Nat 20...)
Smite on Hasted Action Nat 20 hit - 15extra Radiant Damage...
(Miesha would focus on one Animated Armor at a time, only moving to the second if the first one falls...)
Miesha swings from facing the recently teleported figures to one of the suits of animated armor. With four hasty strikes she fells one of the suits, the other still standing.
Jasper's hair stands on end as Sir Brodstin emerges out of nowhere and almost takes him out, his practiced elven footwork making the difference once again.
The tabaxi soon looks up at the sky and says "they are lucky they departed before they felt my blade, hehe".
As Miesha begins to take down the armor Jasper calmly walks up near her, squints and appears to be studying her closely while she's still engaged in combat. "How do you feel?"
Crannoc glances over in puzzlement at Jasper. He considers whether the big cat is going feral, which to Crannoc, just means returning to a normal state, but he doesn't think it is that. Something more to do with the unpredictability the cat-man had shown during their last covert visit to the manor.
He circles around in flanking position with Miesha and Maggwyn surrounding the animated armor and continues to maintain concentration on Bless. He attacks with his spectral pine needle (Spiritual Weapon) and his Thorn Whip.
Action - Thorn Whip: To Hit: 27 + 1 from Bless = 28 Damage: 7 magical piercing (Not using the feature to pull the enemy any closer as they are already in melee.)
Miesha, focused on the battle and pissed she lost out on Liden and Brodstin, glances briefly at Jasper with a quizzical look and then tries to shoo them away with her foot before refocusing on the animated armor.
(Miesha is through 2 rounds of Haste, if that is what the cat is on about...?)
The armor limps forward before collapsing because of the damage dealt to it. The space stills with no enemies in sight. Very shortly, Vara comes riding in on horseback. She looks bewildered at the scene before her. "What the hell happened here?!" Townspeople have been returning to the area now that the threat is gone.
Crannoc looks around, sycamore seedling wobbling uncertainly on his shoulder as in truth, he has the same question that Vara does.
He mutters for Temuth'sGuidance to help him make sense of things and articulate them.
"I wish I understood it better myself, Vara Lonsvell. As we arrived a figure on a rooftop pointed a strange magic stick at Brodstin's den house and let out a blast of force which collapsed it and killed several in the crowd." Crannoc shakes his head, still surprised at what he had seen.
"The figure then turned to smoke and began flying away, which I was able to halt through a Wind Wall that Temuth grants me. Once stopped, the smoke turned back into a man and fought us furiously. It seemed as if he, Lidel Brakstelle... knew you, Miesha? He turned the force stick on several of us, including Miesha, causing grave injury. Yet, we were near to defeating him when Brodstin emerged from the crowd and also attacked us with these suits of... animated armor? Lidel then touched Brodstin and spoke angrily about leaving, and the two of them disappeared. Leaving us to finish off these suits of armor who remained behind to attack us. You have ridden up just as we finished. Some in the crowd surely saw most of this."
Upon completion of the battle Miesha rushes to any of the fallen townsfolk she can find and tries to determine if there is time enough to save any of them. She has plenty of healing power left in her Lay on Hands even if she has used the entirety of her spell pool.
Successful or not, Miesha would then walk over to where Crannoc and Vara Lonsvell converse and add what she can to the discussion.
"It was Lieutenant General Lidel Brakstelle, of South Vexcall" Miesha chimes in. "The one atop the rooftops with the wand or whatever that shot out balls of fiery force. I served under him, once upon a time. I was a soldier just doing their job, I knew nothing of politics or why there was a war."
"Brodstin was here again as well, as Crannoc mentioned. He seemed to have been hidden amongst the crowd as a bit of a fail safe. Lidel did mention at one point that he was on assignment, seems proper Brodstin was lurking as well..."
Jasper keeps a focused stare at Miesha, crouching and moving about so as to always be able to see her face. For anyone paying close attention, his lips are moving slightly as if he is perhaps silently counting. Eventually, his Haste spell expires...
(Up to Miesha on whether or not she'd like to role play the down side of Haste when it ends at all... When the spell ends, the target can't move or take actions until after its next turn, as a wave of lethargy sweeps over it.)
