Lothar watched in awe of the events unfolding before him. He had never really put much faith in magic, but he knew the dwarves to be proud people and expert craftsmen. This truly was a sight to behold.
As soon as the staff touches the flame a fantastic light gushes forth from the brazier, a fluorescent greenish yellow-purple wave washing over everyone in the room before splashing against the walls and flowing back into brazier. The staff clatters to the floor physically unmarred but bereft of the gnomish soal that once inhabited it.
Nundro falls to his knees before the pedestal, tears in his eyes. "Did you see it lads? The light, the color.... Octarine, the color of magic. I never thought I'd see such a beautiful sight in my life. The spell forge is renewed. I can operate it, it would take a few hours but I can imbue an item for each of you before we move on. Given more time I can do amazing things here."
You can each choose a weapon to have Gundren enchant. The item becomes a +1 magical item. As you rest and let the dwarf work you take a look around the room and find...
Lightbringer. This +1 mace was made for a cleric of Lathander, the god of dawn. The head of the mace is shaped like a sunburst and made of solid brass. Named Lightbringer, this weapon glows as bright as a torch when its wielder commands. While glowing, the mace deals an extra 1d6 radiant damage to undead creatures.
Dragonguard. This +1 breastplate has a gold dragon motif worked into its design. Created for a human hero of Neverwinter named Tergon, it grants its wearer advantage on saving throws against the breath weapons of creatures that have the dragon type.
The enchanting takes awhile so everyone take a short rest and 175 xp.
Silas's staff is now just a plain old staff of healing, though there is now a carving depicting Byron holding a shield emblazoned with the symbol of Illmater.
There is one more room in Wave Echo cave. The door to that room is anothervlarge double door that has been fused closed and will require a DC 15 strength check to force open. That is the only entrance to the room. Go ahead and roll that check with advantage as Nundro will assist.
The staff is still a staff of healing and therefore already a magical item, and a pretty powerful one at that. Silas has a short sword, a sling, or his chain shirt all of which would be ideal.
Content sharing is now enabled, sorry guys I should have done that at the beginning.
Lothar can certainly take Dragonguard, but that armor is already magical and Nundro can currently only enchant mundane objects. So Lothar can still choose an item to have turned into a +1 magical item.
Lightbringer is still unclaimed, if none of you want it Nundro will equip it.
That strength check does the trick, so Lothar and Nundro are leading the way into the final room, what are the rest of you doing? Following right behind or hanging back outside the room? Once I know the marching order I will put together a map and reveal this room.
Silas will follow the others into the next room. But will most likely be last in the marching order. He slightly preoccupied with looking at the carvings on his staff.
Lothar donned the new armor and then asked Nundro to enchant his large greatsword. He watched as the dwarf went to work on the steel and honed it with such precision that the man was fully entranced. When all was completed and everyone was ready, he led them on.
"I will take the lead," he said as they pushed open the door.
Dust, ash, walls blackened by fire, and heaps of debris beneath the sagging ceiling show that this room was damaged by a destructive blast. The furnishings — tables, chairs, bookshelves, beds — are charred or splintered, but otherwise well preserved. A scorched iron chest stands near the foot of one of the beds.
As soon as Lothar steps into the room a ghostly figure rises up from the floor. A harsh whispery voice emanates from the form, “Your presence is offensive to me, your life forfeit. My treasures are mine alone, not yours to plunder!” it dosen't immediately attack, what do you do?
Lothar was aghast (see what I did there?) at the sight of the ephereal form and its ravings. "Your presence is offensive to ME!" he replied nearly flabbergasted that the form called him offensive. Lothar knew that he had not had a proper bath in a while, but to be called offensive was...well, offensive!
"We are here to help our good friends the dwarves to remove anything that would threaten them in their rebuilding of the mine. So tell me, spirit.. Are you friend or foe?"
The thing appears to think for a moment, as if it was a bit surprised or confused by Lothar's response. "I am only myself, I care not for friendship or mines. If you have have come here to take what is mine then you are my foe."
Silas knows that this is some sort of ghost, and like all ghosts it was probably a living person at one point.

Vandar lets out a small, involuntary gasp as Silas tosses the staff into the brazier.

Tibern will have his studded leather enchanted to be the plus one item.
Armor works, anything that can become a +1 magical item is good.
Silas will ask nundro to imbue his staff with magic. Maybe each tip made from metal so he can use it more like a weapon.
The staff is still a staff of healing and therefore already a magical item, and a pretty powerful one at that. Silas has a short sword, a sling, or his chain shirt all of which would be ideal.
I think Silas would prefer his sling to magical then.
Need Lothar and Vandar to choose an item, then I need a strength check with advantage for that last door.
(Dragonguard - Kolbitr, can you enable content sharing for this module so that it can be added to the sheet?)

Taking the armor and Greatsword +1
Vandar will follow right behind Lothar
Tibern will wait outside with his crossbow at the ready, wanting to be able to provide help at range.
