Kwami thanks Bartley and Danior, and takes a seat on one of the stumps. "You have a merry group here, quite a contrast to the darkness of the mist. Where exactly is 'here'? We seem to have been transported to a location unfamiliar to us. And I take it from your comments that this has happened to other travelers as well. Where are they? Did they find their way back home?"

And I take it from your comments that this has happened to other travelers as well. Where are they? Did they find their way back home?"
Bohemia looks thoughtful and shakes his head. "Very important questions, and you are not going to like the answers, brother."
"Count Strahd von Zarovich is the lord of Barovia, and the cause of your pain. No one really knows how the mists work, but everyone seems to agree they are his doing. As for what the mists are, they not only protect his borders, but also do his bidding for lack of a better term. If Count Strahd is the cause, the mists are certainly the effect."
Bohemia leans back on his stool against the wagon and shakes his head again. "I'm sorry brother, but the mists bring the unawares as Count Strahd's tools. If it was the mists that brought you, it's because the Count wants you for something."
” this count wants us for something? Should we be honored or annoyed? Kind of rude not sending a notice before hand.” Boil says and chuckles to himself. Taking a moment to consider the predicament and the revelations. “ So do the people thus hijacked ever return to whence they were brought? Or are we now official citizens of Zarovichs-burg now.”
Boil has his notebook out and writing down the details as the honored hosts reveal them. Never know what information will be useful later on.
"... Barovia? I don't recall having seen that on any map. These mists of Strahd's must conceal his realm quite effectively," muses the cleric. "I wonder what this Count would want with our ragtag band?"
His voice drifts off into silence as Kwami ponders this information. What sort of lord is this Strahd?he wonders. Cruel? Mad? Lonely? Why bring strangers here against their will?
"Does no one ever escape the mists and return home? Surely there must be some powerful wizard here who could undo the spell...."
IC: Abel leans forward toward the conversation after taking a seat, "Based on what you have seen with past 'tools', can we expect to meet this Count Strahd in person? Have you had any dealings with him yourselves?"

Acher reluctantly engages in a round of handshakes before taking a seat. He thanks the children for the bread and cheese but does not yet take a bite. His eyes repeatedly widen as he listens to Bohemia and he looks back to his companions in disbelief.
Bohemia listens to the dragonborn and smirks. "Keep your humor friend. Barovia is not for the faint of heart."
Nodding at Kwami, "You are right about the mists concealing Barovia. They do hide it well. Barovia is a place out of time and space. I'm not even sure if it is real to be honest. It is real from the perspective that it will kill you if you are weak, but does it spin in the heavens with the other planets? I do not think so. We have no sun to warm our faces here, but there is light each day."
Kwami responds, "Does no one ever escape the mists and return home? Surely there must be some powerful wizard here who could undo the spell?"
"My people can freely come and go through the mists. We have always been able to. We do not know why. Even though we can leave, we always feel the call to return." Bohemia's face looks saddened. "Brother, no one else has ever escaped. Those that have tried are torn apart by the mists. It is gruesome to see."
Abel asks, "Based on what you have seen with past tools, can we expect to meet this Count Strahd in person? Have you had any dealings with him yourselves?"
"Not many alive have met the Count in person, but our tarroka reader, Madam Eva has. From what I know, when the mists bring you to Barovia it is typically to d..." Bohemia cuts off as the door of the large wagon opens and a very old lady steps out.
"Hush your mouth Bohemia. You will scare them." She poked the man with her cane.
The lady was very short and stooped, and rail thin. Her long curly black hair was laced through with the grey of age. Her dress was a bright blue, and she wore a gold silk vest over it. She pointed at each person in the group individually, her gnarled knuckles shaking with the effort. "When did you arrive? Did you all survive the transition?"

IC: Abel stands and flashes a friendly smile in the direction of the new arrival, leaning close Bohemia to whisper, "Madam Eva?"
OOC: Would members of the party know what a "tarroka reader" is, or is there a roll (Arcana, History...?) that would allow one of us to see if our character has heard of it?

Tarroka is specific to the vistani, so a role would not help. Certainly a question worth asking aloud. Most would probably assume some type of "tarot" related activity.

Kwami will study the Vistani's face to try and determine if he is telling the truth about his people, his lack of knowledge about their special status, and the impossibility of escape.
When Madame Eva appears, he will incline his head out of respect to her. If she performs a reading, he will try to determine through observation whether she seems to be a true prophetess, or a charlatan.

"We all arrived late last night. We all survived the mist but some barely made it through the wolf attack that followed. The wolves appeared to be called in by a flock of crows.
