Moving to the length of cave where you originally were, Barburry and continuing to push the dust around with gust, you have definitely caught the attention of all four archeologists, and Professor Maz. "You all are kicking up quite the storm over there. Did you perhaps find something?" Professor Maz calls out. Barburry, the floor here doesn't appear to have any drawings on it.
(OOC: Hin, and I suppose everyone; the drawing on the ground isn't carved. It appears to be drawn with paints, or perhaps chalks. It could easily be destroyed, if attempted.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While waiting for the dust to settle, Laurence points up towards the ceiling and traces out a shape made up of the markings, of a sword with a lock of hair wrapped around it, "everyone, look, on the ceiling. And it's not just text either."
Aided by Barburry, Laurence takes a good look at the drawing, miraculously undamaged in what they assume to be an ancient ruin.
Barburry leans their head back into the main chamber, hearing Professor Maz. "Oh Professor! We were just cleaning up the ground to look at the drawing beneath it. I think Laurence might know a little about the picture, and they saw something on the ceiling. I heard something call my name in here so I'm going to try and say hello. If it's a ghost or something I don't want to be rude and get my giant keester haunted. Har Har Har.....har...."
Much less confident than his reply would have imparted, the firbolg conjurer hoists his conjured Lantern, Bullseye aloft and says in a wavering voice, "He-he-hello? So sor-sorry for leaving so rudely be-be-before. Can I h-h-help you?" Barburry isn't sure if he's more worried about actually getting an answer or not. Scritches also is quivering in his apron pocket, the fey familiar equally spooked.
"The part of the wall with mysterious texts is imbued with divine aura. Divination might be my area of specialization, but I fear I'm far from being an expert in the field of divine entities."Vera announces gingerly while trying to brush off the feeling of exhaustion. She is quite confused with the mixed feeling as well as the sudden upsurge of tiring condition. Does it have something to do with the word 'passage'? Perhaps, she's only tired because of lack of sleep?
Without giving it a second thought, Vera will command Trova to conceal the special text on the wall using ink from her inventory (Unseen Servant). Her intention is to keep the others out of the harm's way.
"We should let the experts, like Professor Maz know about the discovery before taking any rash decision."
Vera, you send Trova over towards where this divine word is, and instruct her to cover over the word with your inks. As Trova finished covering this word with ink Professor Maz finally makes his way to all of you, with the exception of Barburry, who has moved back to the cave he was originally at. "Well, this is a very interesting depiction." He calls over the two archeologists who were previously transcribing. "Can you two help these students out with this painting? Have any of you found other paintings like this while exploring?" He seems to be asking all of you and the archeologists. "I do believe I know what this painting is depicting, we'll talk more about it when we group back up and begin our trek back to the academy. I just wonder wh-" Professor Maz turns towards Barburry "wait" a confused look crosses his face "did you say something called your name? Barburry, perhaps going alone isn't such a great idea."
Laurence
You learned of this symbol all these markings and texts seem to create, while you were serving your noble family. The symbol is of Kreslene, the Lady of War. She is an ancient deity, who was slain by another deity in the 3rd age. Matter of fact, if you recall correctly from the religious texts, she was slain by a dragon deity, though the name of the dragon slips your mind.
Kenneth, as you push through your fears and speak into the abyss of the cavern
She stands up from where she previously was crouching down. "Barburry, Professor Maz is right. You shouldn't go alone. I'll go with you to make sure nothing happens. Professor Maz, how much time do we have left of the hour? So I can keep track of when we have to reconvene back at the entrance." She takes a deep breath in and out, trying to show her friend that everything will be ok. "Barburry, Scritches," she smiles as she acknowledges each of them, "There is nothing to worry about. As long as we stick together, everything will be alright." She says this with as much confidence as she can muster. Even still, she can't help but seem a little nervous as she moves to stand right behind Barburry's shoulder. Quickly, she turns her head over her shoulder to address the rest of the group in the main chamber, "I'm sure you all will be fine without me? Just be careful, and try not to trigger any energy-sapping magic words while we're gone." She winks mischievously, trying to feign confidence once more as she disappears behind Barburry.

As I don't believe anyone has checked this room with Detect Magic, Barburry uses some of his innate firbolg magic to make his eyes do the alternating animal types of his own detection and he also asks for aid from the insects and cave denizens in this hole.
"Hello creatures of this cave, thank you for tolerating our presence here. If you would so kindly aid us, lead us to anything unnatural in this cave, we would be most appreciative."
With all of your pleads, there are no responses, although, with your detect magic you catch glimpse of a faint aura deeper in the cave, the aura doesn't appear to belong to any known school of magic, or at least one that you're familiar with. You move slightly closer to it, and it seems like it's moving further away. You eventually reach a point where to continue any further, you would need to get on your hands and knees and crawl.
Scritches will head further in. As I let Scritches down, I will turn to Hin and ask they watch over me as I let my senses slip into Scritches to continue forward.
Laurence clears their throat as Professor Maz comes nearer, and says with confidence, "I believe this painting is depicting the Lady of War, Kreslene. She was slain by a dragon deity at the end of the 3rd age." They turn their head to the ceiling and wave their hand over the patterns like an educator at a museum, "and the text here, if you look at the whole picture, it's Kreslene's holy symbol." Finishing their sentence, they clasps their hand in front of them modestly and look towards Professor Maz for confirmation. "I think... this is could be a place of worship for her."
They give Hin and Barburry a quick nod as they enter the cavern. Though they are both anxious and excited at the prospect of entering the cavern too and discovering something in there, they turn back and says, "There's something quite strange that Miss Hin and Miss Donavera were looking at on the wall." Laurence extends a hand to show the wall and nods to Vera, as she appears to have a clearer idea of what the texts are saying. They blink in slight confusion as the word is no longer visible.
Barburry, you send Scritches forward into the cave as it gets smaller and tighter. He keeps going and pushing, until you see through his eyes, a small metal rod about 3 inches long. He grabs it with his little ferret paws, pushing it around, and biting it, before suddenly your vision snaps back to yourself. You feel the mental and arcane connection between Scritches and yourself gone.
"You are indeed correct Laurence. This is a depiction of the famous battle between the Lady of War, Kreslene and the Frozen Maw, Donnessos. While there are some famous art pieces done on this battle, I've never seen this rendering before." Professor Maz takes a step back to get a better look, just as you did "You're right. There's an alternative view to this, this is fascinating. Though, I'm not sure this is a place of worship to her. The others have found reference to several different deities, plus there are some found references to everyday people hidden on the walls."
"Rat farts. Scritches is going to be mad about that."
"Hin, there is a metal rod in there or something. Scritches tried to bite it and poof, he's gone. Maybe this is beyond us. Perhaps the Professor will have some idea?"
Laurence listens closely and fidgets with their cuff a bit awkwardly, "Ah, I drew my conclusion too quickly." Upon hearing what Professor Maz knows, they tilt their head and starts asking more questions, "References to people, and other deities here...in the text on the walls? What other deities were found? Is this a memorial of sorts? For a time before Kreslene was killed?" Realising they have asked too much at once, they brush back some hair behind their ear and resumes the mousy front, waiting to see if Professor Maz would reveal more.
Vera inhales audibly at the mention of energy-sapping magic words by Hin, or the young woman who identity herself as Hin. She has the palm of her right hand pressed against the left part of her chest, then she starts fumbling with both of the hands in a nervous manner. It seems like she might be the one who has smeared the antique cave wall with divine magical words and caused mass atrocities.
"I'm overreacting, I shouldn't be overreacting".She keeps whispering to herself, then clears her throat to declare, "Professor Maz, I suspect that we've discovered a passage, as it's clearly indicated in the censored text. Reading the particular text affects the reader negatively, it feels like an invisible creature is feeding on the life aura of the living." She shudders at the frightful thought while reconsidering the nature of her peculiar analogy.
"A metal rod? How peculiar. I hope that Scritches is alright and he's not hurt." She thinks for a second. "Did you see anything other than the metal rod? What did you see when you cast Detect Magic? And, I also think it would be wise to go to Professor Maz and see what he has to say about this." She turns around and starts walking back to the main chamber.
This seems interesting... A puzzle of sorts? A magic puzzle? Scritches disappeared when he bit it... Did he touch it before biting it? Maybe if... if... argh, this is so confusing! I haven't helped anyone. First the entrance puzzle, and now this? The only thing I've done so far is discover a potentially dangerous word, that ended up harming Vera and I. Maybe the others have had better luck with what they're looking at. She breathes out sharply, in defiance of her own discouraging thoughts. No, its going to be fine. Just focus on finding as much as you can. Every little bit helps.
Professor Maz looks at you Laurence "Don't fret. We all draw early conclusions, it's built into us. Those of us who acknowledge this and work to reconstruct those conclusions are the ones who are bound to learn so much more in this world." He looks over towards the two archeologists who are now taking in the drawing on the ground that you all found "Yes, these two have been transcribing everything on the walls, and while the majority, they, and everyone else who has been down here, don't understand it; every fourth of fifth word we do understand. It could very well be a memorial of some sort. With this picture drawn on the ground and the icy landscape it displays, I'm drawn to think this is a memorial of everything to happen during the ice age of the 3rd era." He stops and a look of understanding brushes across his face "actually, that would make some sense actually. Almost all the inhabitants of Weskeilia died during the ice age. Languages would have been lost! Whole languages and dialects would have been forgotten by the last of their people as they froze to death. This is amazing. Very well done all of you."
It's about this time Vera, where as you speak up to warn Professor Maz of the censored text, as you look towards it. Like wax that has warmed up on a lit candle, the ink Trova had covered the wall with, has liquefied and is slowly running down the wall, leaving the word once again exposed to the world. It takes a few minutes, but eventually the word is completely exposed, as it originally was. The ink reaching the floor and disappearing under the gap between the wall and floor.
(OOC: Barburry, I'm going to give Hin a chance to make a post unless you'd like to backtrack out of your cave and approach Professor Maz yourself.) (OOC: Actually, I'll give Barburry a chance to respond to you Hin, then you will have approached Professor Maz.)
"Yeah, it was a faint glow of magic if some sort. But I couldn't tell the type. Scritches will be fine, I'll make them something nice to eat before conjuring them again. Anyway, I haven't heard the voice again. I think telling the professor is the our next step...I hope. I hate to sound competitive, but I hope we've found something here. You found that word, Vera seemed to know something... and Laurence also knew something about the picture. I'm sure Mythe has discovered a whole new school of magic by now."
Hin chuckles at what Barburry said. "Right... I bet you're right. Everyone else here is so amazing, their skills have been so useful. I just found the word by happenstance, and I'm not sure it's even safe. I can't wait until I'm able to find my specialized area, then I may feel a little better about what I'm able to bring the the table." She shrugs lightly. "But," She continues, with a mischievous lilt in her voice, "A little competition never hurt anybody. I'm sure this is important. The only question I have is whether or not we'll have enough time to get anywhere with this."
As the two of you, Barburry and Hin, make your way to the professor and bring this metallic object up to his attention, he shifts his attention from Laurence to the two of you. "You've found something huh? Let's take a look, see what it is you've found." Seeing that whatever object you've managed to find, Barburry, is tucked into a small corner "have you tried using your gust spell to push it towards you?" As he says this, he covers his mouth with a handkerchief preparing for dust, dirt and anything else to be thrown about with this object.
