(( Assuming Horatio heard Matilda's comment he would talk to her: ))
"Hi. I don't think we've met. I'm Horatio, and, um... I heard you talking about your lost brother at the ticket booth. I'd like to help you find him, if you need it. I lost my reflection when I was here last, and was kinda cursed after that. Well... Anyway, I just learned that apparently time is different here. What felt like eight years for us was maybe a lot less for the people at the carnival. It could be that when we find your brother he will still be young."
With one more pixie to go engage in conversation, Dimple is ready to go for the next round! Heading over to the wheel, he greets Biscuit enthusiastically, “Hi there, Biscuit! I’m Dimple! Do you think I could hide nearby, maybe even take a ride in your basket? It looks like ever so much fun!”

Matilda screwed up her nose, " Oh! Thats good. At least he wouldn't have been lonely for so long."
She examined the man with a critical eye, " How do you brush your hair?"
Cad: Leaving the Pixie Kingdom and his tiny size, Cad drifts off toward the Big Top. There's a stall selling Euphoreo cookies (saucer-sized cookies dusted with something sweet-looking) and Eveningberry wine, but nothing fried. He approaches the entrance to the Hall of Illusions. On one side stand a glass cabinet containing some sort of mannequin. On the other is the pale, forlorn-looking ticket-taker. A few customers mill about.
Without waiting for the others, Dimple (Ben) goes ahead and finds an excellent hiding place in one of Biscuit's baskets.
Nimblefoot gives a great chase on the penultimate round. The others were so close to the finish line there was little hope for Edgardo and his ride. "Let's give the crowd a buzz then shall we?" He stands up in the saddle again but this time attempts a backflip while his snail powers towards the rest of the racers.

Nimblefoot hobbles along while Edgardo puts on a little show. (Roll a performance check to go with that backflip!) Shellymoo and Breakneck cross at nearly the same time. The goblin judges declare the winner to be (2)... ...#7 Breakneck. The crowd goes wild.
The judges approach to award the winning jockey their prize (it appears to be a potion of some kind.)
Then they approach the last place winner - Edgardo - with a last-place prize. The consolation prize, it turns out, is a magic wand. (It allows its holder to cast the dancing lights cantrip once, the judges explain.)
Disappointed so far in his search for fried dough, Cad buys a cookie and a small cup of wine. He tries both before speaking to the ticket taker at the Hall of Illusions. As he offers his ticket he gestures toward the mannequin in the glass cabinet. "What's the deal with the doll there?"
Cad: Cad finds the wine non-alcoholic and very sweet. But the Euphorio cookie has a little kick to it - rendering Cad pleasantly foggy and slightly rudderless. Not enough to impair his abilities, but it's not something he'd want to eat too many of before, say, operating heavy machinery.
The pale young ticket-taker dressed as a clown points at the glass booth and silently mimics laughing. Then his smile drops, and he is back to his morose self. He holds out his hand to take Cad's ticket.
Pixie Kingdom:
Brightmite (Matilda) hides in the flower bed. They ignore her and continue their chatter. She disappears successfully in the grass. (No advantage, but good first roll.) Dimple (Ben) hides seamlessly in Biscuit's basket. Cobweb (Alyeira) hides in the Heron Nest. Beatrice agrees to stop talking about the humidity, but Alyeira struggles to find a good spot.
"Gotcha!" cries Starbug. Cobweb (Alyeira) is out.
Honeymint calls the remaining two back out of hiding, one more time. "Last round!" Brightmite (Matilda) and Dimple (Ben) are all invited to play the final round. (If you choose to continue, you may pick new hiding spots or the same, together with two Stealth checks and a Persuasion check if you are hiding anywhere with resident occupants.)
The Snail Race grandstands begin to empty out, and the crowd begins to flow toward the Big Top. It's getting close to midnight.

Dimple (Ben):
Finding this all quite amusing, Dimple considers who else he might go talk with. Thinking of no one else, he decides to go explore the castle, trying to find an out-of-the-way place to hide.

Bob becomes instantly concerned about how Horatio might act after Matilda mentioned his lack of reflection. It appeared as though he tended to get a little upset about the whole thing and Bob could not for the life of him imagine why.
"Worry not, Horatio!" he chirps up, "nothin's los' tha' may be found. We'll sort y'out, don' you worry."
Rooting once more around his satchel, he readies himself, not knowing what might go down. "Asides, ask any 'ere an' they'll tell y' -- ol' Bob can fix anythin'."
"You must protect me if things get unruly," Bob whispers to Dunstable, his little clockwork bird that was still perched on his shoulder. Dunstable stares back blankly, through mechanical eyes, at him; Bob takes this as an affirmative.
"Good job Nimblefoot, seems we weren't destined to win this one." He runs his snail under its chin (?) and turns to exit the race track. He surprised when approached by the goblin race officials. "Wow! Thanks, I didn't think there'd be a prize for last." He graciously takes his wand with a chuckle and wanders out of the area caught up by the flow of the crowd. Without realising he comes to a stop near the entrance to the Big Top. No nervous chill comes over him. No fear of what lay within....that is until he looks up. Frozen in place his eyes dart left and right looking for someone he knew, someone to run to. He spies the tall figure of Cad interacting with a carnie at the Hall of Illusions. Walked straight passed him. Hmmf. The fleet footed haregon makes a dash back towards the Hall.
"No, no, dear. Dimple is still hiding," responds Honeymint. "Starbug is getting ready to count. Hide! Now! It's almost time for the Big Top Extravaganza!"
Brightmite (Matilda) is invited to play the final round against Dimple. (If she chooses to continue, you may pick a new hiding spot or the same, together with two Stealth checks and a Persuasion check if you are hiding anywhere with resident occupants.)

Matilda though she might point out that Dimple had just left so was indeed hiding very effectively but her competitive edge was up now and she scrambled off to find a spot....randomly choosing to bunk in with the heron this time.
Beatrice the heron is finally getting into the spirit of the game, enthusiastically helping Matilda hide. Unfortunately, her over-the-top deceptive banter ("It's so sad nobody chose my nest!") only arouses Starbug's suspicion, and Matilda is soon spotted.
"We have a winner!" shouts Honeymint cheerfully. He calls Dimple (Ben) out from his hiding place in the palace. "Congratulations, Dimple! Jeremy, please bring the prize bag!" Jeremy comes back with a glittery satchel. Honeymint reaches in and grins at Dimple. He pulls out a small packet of pixie dust and hands it to Ben. "Well done! You were practically invisible!"
Turning to address the remaining party, he bids you all farewell. "Please come visit the Pixie Kingdom again!"

Meanwhile, Edgardo joins Cad outside the Hall of Illusions. The colorless ticket-taking mime is gesturing at the glass case across the entrance and is trying to silently answer Cad's question.
