Titaani, back in her non-mustachioed form and regular size, has now been twice thrown out by the toffee apple-headed goblin. She rejoins Horatio and Ben behind the bushes along the bog as they decide what to do next.
Meanwhile, in the second floor above and to the left of the kitchen, Will tries to point out the boggles to Matilda as the three nervous children within continue to labor at the looms.
"Uh, three," responds Will to Matilda in a whisper. He points to both ends of the curved room, but Matilda still sees nothing.
--
Meanwhile, Ben looks hopelessly north across the broad bog. The massive log extends across it, where Ben can make out the far end of the gigantic fallen tree that is home to Granny and her stolen children.
Titaani is distracted, again...she screws her eyes up tight and tries to communicate with Tiny, asking if he is ok, if the kids are safe, or if he needs her. She doesn't realise that distance might keep him from hearing her thoughts, she is just worried about him.

As Tiny remains out of range; Titaani hears nothing in return. She can only hope that he and Squirt were successful in bringing the three children back to the Little Oak's treehouse.

Meanwhile, the children in the textile mill nervously continue their work at the noisy looms. A small open bottle falls off a high shelf, bouncing on the wooden floor and spattering Will and Matilda with black ink.
The uninjured boggle, now visible, vanishes through a hole in the loom, but not before excreting a 5-foot pool of thin black oil where you stand. You can hear the boggles giggling from both ends of the room.

(( Meanwhile, the soggy bottom gang are kicking rocks behind some bushes just out of sight of Chucklehead! ))
Horatio's frustrations and fears start to surface as he grows ever more tense with Matilda's absence. "I don't like this. I don't really trust that Will kid, or whatever he really is, and we aren't prepared for another fight like the one we had with Bavlorma. If this hag gets hold of Matilda we will be one person weaker, and hunted." He looks at Ben and Titaani earnestly, "Do you think we can take on Chucklehead quickly and quietly? He might be someone we could win against, and doing so gets us in there with Matilda. But only if we can do it quietly, without him calling for help... The thing is, he's actually been pretty fair to us. I kind of feel bad about targeting him..." Though Horatio grapples with the morality of it, his fists are clenched as he speaks. His eyes are hard and anyone can tell that he is willing to fight a hundred Chuckleheads to make sure Matilda is safe.

Will skids and falls in the slippery pool of oil. He curses.

---- Meanwhile, Horatio shores up Chucklehead (who was not unarmed – Horatio remembers seeing a curved blade of some sort on his belt and a spear or something strapped to his back) while Ben shores up the swamp (which would not allow them to bypass Chucklehead, although they might be able to skirt around the entire north side of the log unseen to get to the west side of it.)
Taking another look at the terrain, Ben agrees with Horatio. “Let me take the lead and distract him while you use the key. I am worried that the others have not returned.”
Casting light upon the blade of his magic sword, Ben sheathes it and takes a deep breath, then walks out determinedly towards Chucklehead, approaching from the ring of mushrooms side so that hopefully a path along the edge of the swamp will be open for Horatio behind the foe.
He will wait to speak until he is adjacent to Chucklehead, trying to keep the creature’s attention on him as the primary threat.

Seeing Ben approach, Chucklehead exhales with anger and exasperation.
"That's it!" he yells, throwing his arms in the air in anger. "I'm calling the Tin Soldiers. Prepare to be run down and squashed."
He strides off to the south, toward the market.
Horatio and Titaani may make a Stealth check with advantage to approach the kitchen door (or they might simply need to wait a few moments, if Chucklehead is indeed departing.)

Meanwhile, up in the mill, Matilda finally spots one of the boggles, nearby. Her knife, however, is stuck in the ceiling molding, even as she manages to evade the slippery oil puddle.
Drawing his sword and suddenly bathing the clearing in the revealed light on his blade, Ben says, "Best you leave and not come back. I will find Will wherever he may be, and you won't stop me!"

Assuming Chucklehead continues to move off, Ben waits until he is out of sight and chooses a pebble to cast light on instead. He tosses it in deep enough water that it shines out a bit through the swampy murk (like someone hiding underwater with a glowing sword, maybe). He stages a hollow reed above the light (like a breathing tube, perhaps), then follows after Horatio in the hopes that their kitchen key works.
