”Yes, we came across their balloon, crashed, and were able to rescue Sir Talavar from the cage he was imprisoned in. He was most grateful for his rescue and gifted us with his blade in thanks,” responds Ben (someone still has it, correct?).
“Let us free you from this cage,” he continues, going to grab that sharp glaive, though he pauses to see if anyone wants to try their hand at picking the lock first.

Morgort squints at Matilda's blade. "Yes, that's indeed Sir Talavar's blade. Thank you for aiding him. Was Wigglewog with him? ...And yes, I would dearly love your assistance exiting this cursed cell."
(Anyone may make an Athletics check to try to tear through its root walls, try to pick the cell door’s lock with thieves’ tools and a Dex check, or hack at it with a weapon using an Attack roll.)
"Careful with the glaive," adds Morgort. "That's hand-crafted."
"Very well," says Ben, "Move to the side of the cell." Once Morgort does so, Ben slashes several times at the roots on the other side of the door, wanting to make sure any chips or roots under tension don't spring back and injure her.

“I’ll take a look at that lock!” Titaani offers, waiting until Ben is done his attacks before she attempts to unpick the lock. She fumbles with it - she hasn’t done this in a while, and the nagging feeling of needing to regain what she has lost distracts her.

With his sword, Ben hacks at the thick mangrove roots which serve as the bars of Morgort's cell. It's slow, hard work. Titaani takes a turn, trying to pick the lock instead, but quickly gives up.
"Wigglewog is dead? ...Oh, that's, that's horrible...." Morgort is clearly shaken, and grows sullen.
With a few more chops, Ben is able to open a gap large enough for the bullywug knight to slip out. She does, but her mood remains low. "Wigglewog and I set fire to the balloon factory," she mutters. "We helped Sir Talavar escape. Maybe we should have thought of a better plan..."
Dusting herself off and picking up the glaive, Morgort points southwest into the fog. "Bavlorna’s Cottage is that way, in the middle of Murky Lake," she says, her voice steely and curt. "I should stay away from Sinking Palace, though. They'll try to arrest me again. You swim?"

Pud clears his throat. "Eh hem...I can swim but just so you know, there's a bunch of busted up armor and weapons in the swamp out there. And some chains and shackles that are tied up to a tree. I dunno bout you but that don't sound like a safe place to swim."

"The Proving Grounds," replies Morgort. "Where trials by combat take place. Where wrongs can be redressed in the Soggy Court. Two combatants: the accused and the accuser, or their surrogates. Once they are shackled, the combatants fight until one is dead, and 'justice is thereby served'. I was waiting for them to choose a combatant. I would have been chained to that tree and given a club. The King presides over the trial. An unjust, immoral, honorless system. I was planning on feigning death, stealing that swamp gas balloon by the stepstone crossing, and trying to escape, before you came along."
"Oh..I see. That stinks. Well, glad we found ya then." Pud turns back to the group. "So...who's this Bav...Bava...Bavalornia? Or whaterver they're called....who are they? You guys met them before?"

"Bavlorna is a dangerous hag, and her little lornlings are incredibly fast. She can swallow you whole, I'm told, or turn you into a slug. She has a bobbing lily pad she can use to travel around. I have seen it but once," adds Morgort. "But if you need to get out in a hurry, I'd recommend stealing that balloon by the stepstone crossing. I can fly it."
"But what's your plan? Surely you are not going to just swim over, walk into her cottage unannounced, and slay her? She is very dangerous, and she has King Gullop XIX and the whole Soggy Court under her thumb..."
“That was our old plan, and it didn’t go so well,” Titaani replies to Morgort. “And I don’t swim, by the way. I never have. I don’t like water. But I guess if Ben is willing to let me onto his horse, I might be willing to cross the water.”
Turning to Pud, Titaani sighs sadly. “Matilda’s right. We nearly died! We had to come back, though. That evil witch has all our stuff!”

”We tried talking and doing some tasks for her before, but it quickly devolved into an argument and then combat. We had some luck with the Soggy Court previously, but the monarchy does seem somewhat fickle, and it sounds like you and the current king are at odds,” replies Ben to Margort.
”We are better equipped and more experienced now, so hopefully we will fare better if it comes to combat. Still, knowing a weakness for Bavlorna or her lornlings would be quite helpful, as would a clever plan to defeat them without a full-scale battle,” he adds hopefully, “though as of yet we have not managed such.”

Replying to Titaani, she adds, "Well, there's a rope, a clothesline, if'n you'd rather not get wet. From the lower level of the Sinking Palace..." Morgort points to a large nearby building you can only begin to make out in the fog. "...goes up to her aviary I guess. Her dead birds. It'd hold a little one like you if you're good at climbing ropes. 'Course you might run into courtiers in the Palace down here..." She lowers her voice.
To Ben, she adds, "Yes, I refuse to bow to King Gullop XIX. I'm no friend of his political rivals, either, so I'm afraid I have few friends left here. As to Slack-jawed Lorna, well, I know of no weaknesses. Her laziness, I suppose. And she don't like people running widdershins around her, they say."

Pud takes note of the two chains and wanders back to the hut to check on the gang.
“Hey, uh, there’s some chains and shackles out there in the mucky swamp. Buncha weapons and armor bits too. Something big musta...who’s that?”
Pud stops mid thought watching the scene.
“We bustin’ them outta here? Cool!”
