The party approaches the high, arched, beautifully ornate front doors, carved in marble, topped with a crowned hart. It appears to Ben to have nothing in the way of hidden traps or unusual mechanisms.
But when he tries to open it, he finds it firmly locked.
"Should we use the chime thingy? Maybe it's like a door bell, and whoever is on the other side needs to hear it before opening up?" Horatio offers. "Rich folks use it on larger stone houses, especially on plantations or workhouses. I've worked at a few, and workers always had to ring the bells at the back doors to get in."
