Horatio finds no hidden compartments or doors or panels. But his knocking does bring Ben's attention to the cupboard next door – the third closet off the hallway, accessible via an unlocked sliding, wooden door.
But inside is more of the same – workshop supplies, boxes of junk, and other mundane bric-a-brac.
There are a couple of curious (but likely nonmagical) trinkets among them: a tiny bottle filled with water, and a wooden apple painted blue.
Horatio practically raids the workshop, finally recalling the golden pouch they were given to store things in. He takes as many wood boards and dowels, metal ingots and miscellany items, tools, cookery, and trinkets as are not bolted down (and even those that are if not too much effort for the prybar).
After rummaging like a madman, he replies to Matilda, "Let's check out the next room. Oh, and I think I know a quick way to burn this place down - the magic dollhouse too. When we're ready to finally leave we'll need to go back to the kitchen."
Crossing through the round Tin Soldiers Barracks room (7), you see that six of the ten brightly painted little wooden houses lining the walls of this room have closed doors. The other four three-foot-high hinged doors are open and empty. The wooden box with the crank is likewise closed.
Rather than going up the stairs past the Sewing Room (9) and up to the Workhouse Dormitory (8) as they originally planned, Horatio continues on into the Workshop (4). Parts of toys are heaped on the tables—leering doll’s heads, half-built rocking horses, unpainted wooden balls, and the stuffed limbs of soft toys. The workshop windows overlooking the Goblin Market have a collection of creepy toys, like a stuffed lion with needles for teeth and real bloodstains around its jaws, and a set of playing cards depicting weeping children. There are plenty of woodworking and metalworking tools here, together with a fair amount of small raw materials and parts, like dowels, hinges, yarn, and glue. This room, like the others, are currently unoccupied.

Ben:
Looking around in here as well, Ben searches for any items that could be transformed missing children or that unicorn. Grabbing the deck he asks, "Could the hag have imprisoned more children in these cards? Do they any of them look familiar?"

DM: Do these scary toys look like familiar do Pud? Do they look like something he’s seem made here at Loomlurch in the past?
He stands a safe distance from the lion with needle teeth and prods at the mouth with his walking stick. He does his best to investigate this nasty little toy from afar. Investigation check: 11

Ben examines the cards and shows them to the party. They are comic caricatures, illustrations. It's hard to tell if they resemble anyone in reality.
Pud examines the toys. He hasn't been here that long, but he did spend many hours working in this room on the toys, which were then sold in the Goblin Market and in markets elsewhere. They all tended to be a bit creepy - like this lion - but they were all nonmagical and harmless, for the most part. This lion seems to be no exception.
Rizzo flies over your heads around the large workshop in slow loops; it gives three chirps.
" Ok. This ones clear. Next. Pud lead the way.", Matilda was getting extremely twitchy about still being here but she was holding it together for her family....this one....not the annoying one back home.
Pud nods at Matilda's direction but hesitates to proceed. He looks to Horatio and says "Once you got enough materials, let's get outta here. It's too quiet and I don't like it. I'm getting a little scared. Okay? Okay...let's move on to the dorm room."
He leads the group back the barracks and up the stairs towards the workhouse dorms with Rizzo leading the way a few feet ahead of the group.

The Workhouse Dormitory (#8 on the map) is similarly dead quiet, other than a few moths fluttering at the window onto the balcony. Lining the walls are ten child-sized bunks outfitted with patchwork quilts and straw-stuffed pillows. All are empty. The room is unoccupied.
Pud runs over to his bunk, lifts the mattress and searches for something underneath. Anyone near by can hear his frustrated muttering turn to panic as he struggles to find something.
"aaaah...where are you?! Errr...come on. You gotta be in here somewhere...AH! I got it!"
Pud sits down next to his old bunk, legs crossed and reveals a small bundle of canvas wrapped in a leather strap. He unwinds the bundle and unpacks the contents. There's a small hand stitched leather journal. He opens it and thumbs through the pages. Next he sets aside small wooden tube that appears to be the makings of some sort of bird flute. Lastly he sets aside a small word carving knife and a set of flint and steel.
He looks up at the group with a smile. "I got my stuff. My alchemist journal, the flute I'm making for Brottor. And this dumb useless flint and steel. Never could get this thing to work since I got here." Pud sits there looking at the flint and steel, somewhat frustratedly, and shrugs. "Maybe flint don't work here. I dunno. Anyway, you guys find anything? Maybe the other kids stashed stuff too."

Matilda finds three items of interest, hidden amongst the bedding: • A silver bookmark shaped like a feather • A gold signet ring depicting a weeping willow • A cracked bloodstone (stuffed inside a pillowcase)
The Workhouse Dormitory (#8) remains quiet. Rizzo again gives its three-chirp reassurance.
The items Matilda finds seem nonmagical, but you suspect they might have value, in your former world if not your present, at least for barter and trade.

"Ok....so....moving on then?"
