<if your goal is to free him, the only obstacle is the arcanoloth. Yiu could just abscond with him, kr barter for his freedom. Whatever you decide, i just wanted to point out that Scrivenscry is the point of contention if you care about the penguin.>
"Tetrevess, I've cast a globe of invulnerability on myself. Hopefully that will keep the hands out."

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
(I'm assuming that if I dispel a charm or geas that the arcanoloth has on the penguin, that Scrivenscry would immediately sense that the spell was broken? So, for now Angus will speak with Kingsport, trying to find out more about the relationship between him and the fiend. Also, he will be looking through books, since he doesn't actually know that they are not here.)
(ooc: not sure, Chadderlay was looking for somewhere quiet to recast [Tooltip Not Found] but I misunderstood the location of the tower until now, didn't realize travel outside the library was needed to reach it. maybe rejoin the party and return here full strength to explore? unless Tetrevess has any ideas... maybe together we can solve 4 Bigby's Hands?)

Not sure how much detail we need here.
If you press the penguin, he reveals that he wants to leave. But if he does Scruvenscry will hurt him greatly. He already beats him, physically, but as a potent weilder of magic, he could do far more harm if he wished to. The penguin is not very intelligent (Int = 10) and blind beyond 30ft. He is illiterate.
Further inquiry makes the already anxious penguin increasingly desperate and he quietly pleads with you "save me!"
Friends, Angus will communicate telepathically, Having sworn an oath to defend the oppressed and weak, I cannot in good conscience leave this poor creature at the mercy of the fiend. I do not know the full extent of his power, but I am sure he will be a difficult foe. If you do not wish to become involved, I understand. If you will join me, let us think of a way to gain the advantage over Scrivenscry. Perhaps we tell him we have found something and then ambush him in a corner of the Library somewhere, where his ability to escape or wield great magic might be hampered?

You can wait to resolve this until the rest of the party is finished in the library and all head over together. On the other hand, you could just use the 10 rounds the globe of invulnerability will buy you. Consider what this place was, not a dungeon, but a community of spellcasters. If they set out 4 hands, why did they do this? How are they acting now? Why isn't there more in this tower anyhow?

If you're looking to fight the arcanaloth, consider the party united in tbe library, including Chaddelay and Tetrvess. Hiw does everyone else feel about it? Any plans?
(Busy family weekend. Tetrevess is up for ambushing him, Tetrevess would want to explore the conjuration tower but after the library is resolved. Strategy thoughts?
(OOC anything that would limit his spellcasting would be helpful, Silence or something similar maybe? I was thinking to somehow get him surrounded, and then hopefully be able to prevent him from just teleporting away... )
(ooc: agree with the party but just curious... how well off is everyone concerning hp, spell slots, resources etc.?)

Angus would know:
Known also as the Vyshaantar Empire, Aryvandaar was a sun elf kingdom that fell during the Fifth Crown War.
Chaddrlay will go before the hands. Possibly tetrevess will, too. What do you want to do?
Will Angus try dispel magic on Kingsport?

<bump>
Chadderlay will cast Globe of Invulnerability around himself.
"Tetrevess, I've cast a globe of invulnerability on myself. Hopefully that will keep the hands out."
<Assuming GoI works as intended, what's the actual plan? These things have been waiting here for millenia, the spell lasts 1 minute.>

Here's a map. Roll initiatives, but Scrivenscry will probably have the surprised condition round 1.
You csn place yourselves where ever you want. Place Scrivenscry if you like
Akame initiative 15
Tetrevess 9 Init.
(prior to combat he casts mage armor and false life 4th level).
Initiative 27
poir to initiative sam will cast zephyr strike on him self
Chadderlay's Initiative: 16
prior to initiative chadderlay will cast mirror image on himself
