<I never really needed to know until now, but I need to know what school not magic our two wizard PCs focus on. The subclasses of wizard describe arcane traditions, but a magic school is separate from this. Chadderlay is a red wizard, like Morwena, which we treat as a subclass, but Morwena is definitely an Enchanment wizard. So, what schools are Tetrevess and Chadderlay's focus?>
Right... so if I can't get a wizard with a focus, an NPC is going to open the door to the next area. I was thinking for scribes maybe like a shifting focus, like pick one at tbe end of a long kr short rest and maybe add some other boon, like get one extra thing per rest.
Anyhow, I encourage just a tiny bit more exploration of this area before finding a seat.
<sorry, missed that while other parents of posts. Yes, T can hear the fighting>
(I think all the attacks are from magical weapons. Right? Also, does Sam have DA from the darkness? He's extremely well suited for this dark fight, I'm just wondering because the devil can see so would have AD unless somehow stalker ranger mitogates this)
The barbed devil is getting smashed by the huge lizard, but the devil fights like a rabid wolverine with claws and tail slashing at Sam
Avarice and Morwena stand before the eight open doors, listening as Sam and the devil clash in the darkness beyond the Divination door.
With Morwena beyond the sight of the living blade of disaster, it is again free to act and follows the group up the shaft. The other blade, locked away in a demiplane by Avarice, is less than a minute from escaping its extradimensional prison.
Morwena readies a haste and shouts "We're running out of time. Help lizard-breath fight through whatever is in there."
Do Chadderlay and Angus join the fray? First to say yes gets hastened, assuming they want to be.

Just copied the umbra sight ability cuz technically I don’t think he can see me
At 3rd level, you gain darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision from your race, its range increases by 30 feet.
You are also adept at evading creatures that rely on darkvision. While in darkness, you are invisible to any creature that relies on darkvision to see you in that darkness.
also I take 37 or 27 points of damage as 18 is my AC?
Angus: Noted. Can still tske advantage kf haste so we csn get through thst devil faster. CHADDERLAY won't have much use for the haste in combat I'm total darkness, I imagine. Assume Morwena casts it b3fkre Angus follows Sam.
SAM: The devil sees with devil's sight, not darkvision, so I don't think gloom stalker abilities apply there. AC is the target, so the tail attack (third attack) hits by meeting thst target value. 37 piercing (non magical)
I've been think8ng of a few tweaks to your subclasses and wanted to know your thoughts. Like maybe foe the wizard's without a school, you can still minor in one fir some small benefit. Like right now the scribes wizard has two and a half features that make sense: 1.evocation damage type change, (which I think should have been proficiency times per long rest, but if it were then get an extra one per long rest times anility score, but since its already infinite, probably not,) 2.ritual spells without ritual casting time, maybe get an extra one from your chosen school. 3. Scribing spells of the chosen school generally take less time and material, but for scribes wizards, its probably already too low. #2 works right out of the box, the other two have issues.
For gloom stalker, I think it should work more like blond sense, as that captures the flavor better imo at high levels where darkness is likely to be magical. My only concern is that it could step on Angus' blind fighting style, but if he doesn't mind, I'd make that change.
... so if gloom stalker could see the devil, those attacks it made x Sam should not be AD. Since I csnr separate the rolls, I would just reroll them. @Legion4: do you want to change the mechsnic for that subclass feature?
Edit: I finally looked at a character sheet. Chadderlay is abjuration.
Any reason Angus doesn't use channel divinity? The devil is turntable. Not much hp, but the longer you fight him, the more opportunity for the living blades of disaster to attack.

Tetrevess is order of scribes- so no school focus.

Also, Samogri is being attacked by a devil.

Angus is already in the fight but his initiative was after the devil's.
First Longsword Attack: 17 Damage: 14 magical slashing + 3 radiant from improved divine smite
Second Longsword Attack: 13 Damage: 15 magical slashing + 4 radiant from improved divine smite

Angus' extra hasted attack:
Longsword Attack: 23 Damage: 14 magical slashing + 8 radiant from improved divine smite
Angus' last attack misses the devil.

Is Tetrevess in the combat? Probably his turn (presumably after the monster, since reacting to the sounds)
