This large chamber has lain undisturbed for centuries. On the upper level, all around you, are tables covered with wizardly paraphernalia. A soft groaning sound emanates from a shadowy, door-sized rectangle along the curved northern wall.
Staircases to the east and west descend to the lower part of the room, where a sunken library is situated in a twenty-foot-wide, ten-foot-deep circular pit. A ladder running along a circular track inside this hole allows easy access to the many books and scrolls on its shelves.
<The blade has a feature called preemptive strike, so essentially it gets AOO whether you move or not. It is still up.>
Sam realizes the groaning rectangle itself is a living creature, but his stoic reptilian visage does not reveal to onlookers that he has made this discovery. Sam senses thus is an ambush hunter.
The sword attacks Tetrevess who follows Sam to the doorway.
Sam coukd stop T or let him past, likely to be set upon by the thing on the wall.
Meanwhile Iriolarthas enters the starry chamber. "TOU WERE BOT GRANTED THE PROVELEGE IF SITRING AMONG MY HONORED DISCIPLES!" the demilich shouts, his voice amplified into the city below as he floats above the balcony, raging at the wizard's sat before him.
Angus and Chadderlay are also present in this room.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Well &%$!*!"says Angus, thoughfully. He sprints over to be beside the demilich, casting (BA) spirit shroud as he runs. He then attacks it with his longsword.
Ok, seeing the blade is still striking at him, as he approaches the door, T turns and launches another star and firebolt combination. He misses with the star but gets a 32 with firebolt for 18 damage.

<sorry, got distracted and never rolled the attack for the blade if disaster. It occurs at the stsrt if Tetrevess' turn as a reaction. This matters because the fire bolt will take it down.>
Tetrevess is badly hurt by the blade as it slices deep into him, bypassing his protections. “Let’s destroy this blade first!” He calls out. The attack throws off his aim for the crown of stars, but the firebolt shoots true. (Tet is at 30 HP, after false life went down. Going to need a rest as he’s low on spells. Maybe if we survive this battle the library will be a nice quiet spot)
<this is pretty much the boss fight. You can expect a level up before meaningful combat after you claim the prize. I'm telling you this so you don't worry about conserving resources but also to keep momentum up. Lots of game happening here, but once Com at is resolved, the threat is lifted, if thst makes sense.>
So, I'm going to say Sam stops Twtrevess from falling victim to the rectangle on the wall. Someone else csn deal with that.
Iriolarthas acts on Initiative 21, <the system I use takes CR+Dex mod + 10 for the highest CR creature and applies it to all monsters in the combat on the same 'team' so far jts the demilich and that rectangke on the wall, the blades having been felled by Tetrevess. Thus.. (unless Sam can pull initiative over 21)>
The shadowy, groaning rectangle on the north wall is a living demiplane spell that was created when Iriolarthas escaped Ythryn’s fall. It moves toward the nearest intruder (Sam) with the intent of trapping that creature into its extradimensional chamber, creeping along the floor as it slides down the wall. Even with Sam's superior vision, he cannot sense anything within the demiplane unless he ventures inside, which is exactly what will happen as the rectsngke slides under his scaled feet, unless he success on a DC10 Dex save.
(Unless w head a rest somewhere and I missed it, I’m pretty limited on what I can do. But I’ll give it a shot)
”your time is past, Iriolarthas! You have delayed your fate long enough. Let us help you transition into the next world and rest..” Tetrevess says, the situation with the demilich finally dawning on him.

<he's got a weirdly high AC but not many hp. Also, if you can command the library for long enough (like an hour) you effectively get access to a time machine.

Sam hits the demilich with a powerful series of strikes <I'm counting them all as magical>
Following Sam's attack, the demilich retaliates with an energy drain attack (LAx2) effecting creatures within 30ft (DC15 Con or reduced ho max by 10)
Then on its turn, attacks Sam and Angus with a life drain (DC19 Con save or take 21 necrotic, the damage taken healing the lich for the same number of hp)
Perception check on the humming thing 4.

First longsword Attack: 25 Damage: 11 magical slashing + 7 radiant (spirit shroud) + 5 radiant (improved divine smite) + 18 radiant (regular divine smite)
Second longsword Attack: 11 Damage: 10 magical slashing + 8 radiant (spirit shroud) + 3 radiant (improved divine smite) + 4 radiant (regular divine smite)

25 to hit
That is a crit and deals automatically 78 force damage.
Both of Angus' attacks fail to connect with the elusive demilich

(just a reminder, the demilich will have its speed reduced by 10 ft, and may be subject to Angus' mage slayer feat).

On initiative 20, lair action if 11 or above 17
Iriolarthas creates an antimagic field around Avarice, whoch follows her as she moves.
Tetrevess fails his save vs the energy drain (barely, with a 14, unless he has some bonus from somewhere else, maybe a paladin radius bonus Angus?).

It’s a plus 3 if your within 10ft of Angus
