(Do either of the demilich's actions trigger the mage slayer feat?)
Mage Slayer PHB, pg. 168
When a creature within 5 ft. of you casts a spell, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature, and when you damage a creature that is concentrating on a spell, that creature has disadvantage on the saving throw it makes to maintain its concentration. You also have advantage on saving throws against spells cast by creatures within 5 ft. of you
Angus 1st CON Save 10
Angus 2nd CON Save 17
(note: these saves would be with advantage if the feat applies)
<Raw, no, as these aren't spells being cast. Arguably antimagic field could be, but it is targeting Avarice and I understand it to be a contingency since it's part of the lair actions and it triggers on initiative 20, not in response to another action, as Legendary Actions do, nor as a reaction, bonus acrion or on the creature's turn.
But, all of this is moot, looking at the numbers, because even with 42 added hp, after the initial onslaught, the disintegration ray reduces Iriolarthas to zero hp, so...>
The demilich howls an unearthly cacophony resonating through the chamber, as it is vaporized into a cloud of ash and dust, swelling to a vast plume far greater in scale than the size of the small jeweled skull would suggest possible.
<these are descriptions of the actions it could have taken if it had another turn, but it's just for fun, there's no saves needed and no mechanical effect, but let's go ahead and make the area within 10ft heavily obscured and 20ft beyond that lightly obscured. Not updating the map, maintain current initiative tracking.>
Sam already knows there's a creature on the other side of the portal, but may not fully grasp what it is. He would k ow its an ambush hunter, though, and that it's a big shadowy rectangle. If he tells the wizard's in the room, they'd likely determine its like a demiplane spell, and since they just fought some living spells and they read that stuff back at the embassy, overall I'm sure they will suspect it's a living demiplane spell.
“**excellent disintegration Morwena. The fight isn’t over, Sam says something lurks beyond. Perhaps another living spell? I truly want to learn how to create these sometime.**. T says

That sounds really interesting. Do you think thar would be more transmutation or conjuration? Like, are we animating a spell after it's cast or summoning some kind of life force in a magical form? Conj. Spells come fr9m outer planes entities, like fey, fiend or celestial. Evocation from inner planes. Animate objects is transmutation, but specifies nonmagical objects. Sentient magical objects certainly exist, though, so hiw to make thise? We know Acererak placed the architect of his crypt into the doomblade, somehow. I think the answer to the question might be in Iriolarthas' spellbook, but perhaps not the details of the process in full.
“Those blades were living spells as well. Blades of disaster, but alive. Powerful spell beyond my skill to cast- and not normally alive or lasting that long.” Tetrevess explains. “ Hopefully we can destroy this remaining guardian. I don’t think we have time to rest,Sam, unless for some reason it cannot leave the confines of the library. I also am badly wounded”
He prepares to cast a spell on the lurking guardian. (On his next turn)…
As the spell strikes the living demiplan3, it is instantly destroyed, releasing into the room the creatures that were trapped inside: three galven magen and a pair of flesh golems.

G2 and G3 hold these attacks for a moment when they have line of attack on an opponent and a flesh golem. They remain in the chamber through the portal, but line of sight through the portal is possible.
(On his turn, posting now as I have a moment) , T backs away from the new creatures, and releases his last star at F2, and follows up with a firebolt.. 31 to hit 35 radiant, and 30 to hit for 23 fire damage. “the golems don’t like fire, don’t use lightning on any of these “ he says.

So T makes the save for the DC 15 effect. Thanks angus!
<I just realized ******* let's me level NPCs like Morwena with a slider. That's so convenient!>
Con Saves: Morwena 4, Avarice 11
(I think Angus actually is still under the effects of haste, but we'll see after this save)
Concentration 7
On initiative 16 Morwena casts Disintegrate on the demilich for 83
Iriolarthas Dex save 18
<Hoping to hear from Chadderlay>

He prepares to cast a spell on the lurking guardian. (On his next turn)…
T casts cone of cold, using his Order of scribes feature to change the damage type to radiant. 50 HP damage, constitution DC 22 for half.
(roll in log)
And he sends his BA crown of stars star to the guardian as well, 27 to hit, 37 more radiant damage.
(7 stars total, I think I’ve used 6 now)
Before moving on to the next battle, Angus will take a moment to lay hands on himself and heal up.
