Chad experiments with the amulet by first checking it for any runes or magic words that might be inscribed on it.
Perception: 18
He then tries wearing it and concentrates on suddenly being somewhere else nearby, or even tries to mentally speak to it.
Investigation: 11
And finally for now he tries to put his magical training to use to see if that might yield any clues as to how the amulet functions.

Feeling Ethan's unesccarily hostile stare gazing down upon him, Randy gulps but choses to help Sister Deathwillow on her knees as he support her shoulder. "You can sort of stand up properly right? Here, let me help. Also..." He reaches into his bag and pulls out some snack bars that he never ate since he came here. They haven't expired, and Randy doesn't feel hungry in the end anyways. "Eat up, miss. Like Ethan said, you won't last the trip home if you don't replenish your energy sources."

You learn the following about Larga Bloodhand. Sge is an orog warlord of Thar who came to treat with the Velvet in the hopes that the dragon would secure her rise to power in the Grey Lands. One of Larga's bodyguards inadvertently insulted the dragon, and Larga and her party have been trapped here ever since. The dragon only recently consumed the last of Larga's retinue.
As of the late 15th century DR, the lich Aesperus controlled the undead of eastern Thar. Around that same time, the orog warlord Larga Bloodhand rose to some level of prominence, at least until she angered the red dragon Throstulgrael and became stranded by her minions.
Thar is a pretty barren land uninhabitable by humans. Once there was a human presence, but it only lasted 15 years. The place is mostly orcs and ogres.
Yeah, Chad was thinking it worked something like a Misty Step so he would be about 30 feet from his current starting location.

While you're poking around, you also manage to find a gaudily embroidered sack with a few sets of equally gaudy clothes inside, as well as a book inscribed with inscrutable notes, as if written in some sort of code. in a small hidden pouch within the sack, you locate what someone in the group might recognize as a Harper pin. (Some of you have worked with Remi Haventree and would be familiar with the Harpers and their symbol).
"Oh my- Are you kidding me?!" Ethan yells as soon as he witnesses Chad get petrified against his will. To add insult to injury, he's unable to learn greater restoration. as far as I'm concerned you're in downtime. this is a natural environment, but not innately hostile. you could drown or something, poke a crocodile. but other than that, you're just in a swamp, but even then, a ranger and one or more druids are looking out for you, so i think you'lll be fine. You will be billed additional rental days for the boat if you don't return it by tomorrow, though.
If you know anyone who could cast it, the hags would offer to show you how to make a banderhobb to help find them.

“Ahh, a banderhob… no thank you. i think we can find someone. Let me rest, perhaps I can come up with something.”.
As you sleep, a vision appears before you. A dream, perhaps. or a hallucination, or perhaps a divine message...
Before you stretches a rocky plain surrounded by mountains, lying at a higher elevation than the lands outside of the mountain ring. Rocks of various sizes and sand, fallen from the inside slopes of the mountains by weathering lie scattered over the plain. This landscape of basalt and limestone is dotted with jutting pillars of granite, with the ground underfoot notably sandy.
In the grey sky overhead, it appears: wreathed in flames, an apparition of a vast skull, floating above the land. Later, as you recall the event, you find you are uncertain of the flames' coloration: red, pale blue or blue-green, you're not quite sure. Wordless, the skull floats overhead, and as you turn to follow it, you see it is heading for a black tower shaped like a huge dragon fang with two tips and numerous balconies.
In the vast spacew between yourself and the tower, a great caldera of a once-active volcano. Its steep walls led down the deep crater, from which emerges an enormous colorless dragon with dull, decaying skin through which yellowed bones poke, making him an outsider in the struggle between metallic and chromatic dragonkind. A magical brass harp hovers above his head, moving with the entity as it flies from the vast well. When it reaches a formidable altitude, it bursts into a cloud of purple dust, which rains down over the plain, tinting all within a faint purple hue.
With that, you awake, feeling a bit nauseated from the experience.
