Two Probity Corps Inquisitors and four Probity Corps Troopers man the checkpoint
Ignoring a flying Tetrevess, an Inquisitor's dispel magic is counterspell-ed by Ethan, at which (I think - it was just from invisibility, right?) he becomes visible. The other Inquisitor casts cone of cold calling to the Troopers "Spies! Seize them!"
DC14 Con saves (everyone but Tetrevess and Chadderlay) for ½ of 30 cold damage.
Looks like I took to long writing this as I started just after Ethan's post.
Initiative in log: 18 CON save in log: 19, uses Uncanny dodge to further reduce the damage by half
On his turn, Oli will do what I posted below:
With all of the distractions going on from Tetrevess and Ethan, Oli decides the best way to add to this is to create more chaos. Being right next to a trooper as all this happens, he moves quietly 15 feet the opposite direction the guard is looking, then uses Rabbit Hop as a bonus action to jump 25 feet beyond the check point following after Tetrevess. Then Oli manifests one of his psychic daggers (60 ft range) and throws it at the trooper preparing to cast a spell, using Homing Strike to add 1d10 to attack roll if needed to hit.
Psychic daggers leave no wound and disappear after hitting, which should make it hard for them to know what direction the attack came from if the attack takes him out. Then he pretends to be walking towards the check point from the other direction.
Attack w/advantage (invisible) in log: 12 and natural 20 (how do you do critical hits? do you want me to roll all damage dice again, or just double it?) Damage in log: d6 +5 is 7 Sneak Attack damage in log: 7d6 = 20
"!... Expose yourself my freaking ass! Are you guys suicidal?!" Randy yelps in shock as soon after getting blasted by an ice beam to his face; Thankfully he managed to hold his own ground
Initiative: 14, CON Save: 27
Action: Faced with either letting himself exposed or one of his teammates getting left behind, he readies his gauntlets in case he needs to launch Wind Wall to separate the guards apart from his teammates and make a leeway for the others; He'll move 10ft closer to the checkpoint though.
Trigger: He'll wait for the others to get closer to the checkpoint; If any of the guards attack them, he will separate them one side of the wall whilst clearing a path for the others to escape.

One inquistor, seeing a flying g Tetrevess appear overhead, repeats, as if it was his own idea, "I think we should let the flying spy and his friends through."
The other Inquisitor runs his temples in exasperation "we don't let spies pass, you fool. You've been charmed by this oitsider. What an embarreasment. Now, snap out of it!" Turning to the Troopers, he adds "... all of you." Three look nonplussed while the fourth readues his spear and runs into the fray. "Seize them!" The Inquisitor shouts at the other Troopers.
At this, the confused inquisitor feels a sharp pain in his back. Dripping blood onto tbe sandy cobblestone road, he turns and points at the only rabbit-folk he's seen today, being a massive xenophobe, he immediately assumes this person to be among the spies attempting to infiltrate the tharch.
(He would have felt the same about anyone, even human, that doesn't look like they're from Thay, at this point. Most are Rashemi or Mulani. This attitude is quite common here: "it is immediately clear to anyone visiting the city that foreigners and outlanders are few in number and not frequently seen here." Thay actually does not exclude nonhumans; in fact, gnolls are rather routinely seen, as are the odd goblinoid or even lizardfolk.)

Never really considered max damage critical. It might streamline things, but I'm told people.like rolling dice. Not sure if thsts true digitally, but I think so. As such, I think we'll continue to roll for crit damage. (Fortunately we no longer need to roll to confirm the crit. That was really lame)
Also, given he was pickpocketing one of the Probity Corps at the time, I don't think Oli was in the aoe. Sorry if I failed tonexclude him in the call for saves.

No longer needing to hide, Ethan straight up uses all of his movement to get to where Oli and Randy are standing whilst also readying his attack in the process. Trigger: If there's a trooper charging towards them, he'll stall them for the time being since his Eldritch Baseballs repel them back 10ft (up to his entire movement speed if all three balls land)

As one of the troopers try to poke Ethan in the back, all they ended up hitting was the hidden carapace-like armour the moment he turns around to notice, hence he does not feel a thing.
"Well then... shall we begin?" Ethan smiles, already about to enjoy this feud as he readies his bat and prepares to hit three baseballs to stall them...
