Crimson Sands of Time

As Randy notices everyone returning to form, he was faced with two choices: Either keep pushing on or remove his invisibility so aid the others. For now it doesn't seem like his teammates are struggling, especially with Ethan giving him the stern face telling him to go, so instead of launching his intended wall, he'll dash to the other side of the checkpoint where Oli is. If by the next turn his teammates look like they're stuck, he'll release it for real.

As one of the troopers try to poke Ethan in the back, all they ended up hitting was the hidden carapace-like armour the moment he turns around to notice, hence he does not feel a thing.

"Well then... shall we begin?" Ethan smiles, already about to enjoy this feud as he readies his bat and prepares to hit three baseballs to stall them...

Strike 1: 19 to hit, 11 Force and pushed back 10ft if it hits (and closer to the wall if Randy has activated it)

Strike 2: 28 to hit, 10 Force and above

Strike 3: 18 to hit, 11 Force and above

He'll move 20ft to the checkpoint whilst doing so. Also, he flashes a look at Randy, telling him to go. Go. get to the other side! We can handle this. He thinks. 

 All the troopers advancing toward the main group if adventurers are thrown like ragdolls as their corpses fall to tbe ground.  The crowd gathered on the road waiting g to pass the checkpoint begins screaming and rushing through the gate, just behind the troop3r in pursuit of Oli.  Children shreik as tears well in their eyes.  Amid the chaos one figure keeps his cool (@Brian_Avery, this is your alt pc).

Tetrevess, flying above the crowd, is disturbed by the chaos. “Well, this could have gone better..  Im giving uo on that spell” he mutters.  He looks for any guards that are still standing, and sees the one chasing Oli.  “No hard feelings.  Just really not a fan of Thay.”. he mutters, and launches a firebolt at the guard.

(21 to hit for 21 damage)- simultaneously he uses telekinetic shove on the guard, trying to slow pursuit if hes still alive (DC 19 STR save or be shoved 5’) 

Trisk is a Shadar-Kai elf and appears to be a wizard of some kind as he gathers up two of the children and ushers them safely off the street and through the gates. He casts Major Image and makes the illusion of a third child rushing into the arms of the last guard who is chasing Oli.

"This way! Quickly through the gates before more reinforcements arrive!"

Seeing the entire stampede unfold, Ethan decides to disengage and hopefully mesh with the crows that it'll be harder for the troopers to track him and the entire team down. "Now's our chance! Go! Blend in with the crowd!" Ethan yells to both Sam and Tetrevess as he scampers to the other side of the checkpoint.

Well, the openly marked secret police have all been killed in full view, so I guess you're at war with they now.  The only question is who would Szazz Tam attribute the action to? The rival Zulkirs led by D'arlon Ma? An outside force, perhaps. And will he find out who really assaulted the checkpoint?

Is Tetrevess wearing anything that would identify his membership in the Cloaks?

(no, Tetrevess is not obviously a member of anything- he did not want to call attention to himself).  

he flies  in the direction of Sam and Ethan, and casts invisibility (4th level) making the 3 of us invisible again, .

 If no Inquisitors made the save, it would have worked. 1 did.

Trisk will move to stand beside the checkpoint and help guide as many through as he can until he hears reinforcements approaching.

"My name is Trisk! This way everyone!"

Trisk will cast Eyebite on the last guard and use the Asleep version if he fails the saving throw.

DC 18 WIS save or fall asleep for 1 minute. Or until they take damage or if another creature uses their action to shake the sleeper awake.

"You lot! Yes, you that just went invisible! My name is Trisk and you should also get off the streets while you're still unseen!"

"Oh hey! About time we actually got some help not like Randy!" Ethan yells back as he gestures to Sam and Tetrevess to head wot where he is. "Speaking of which, where did he and the bunny man go?!"

 "I'M ON THE OTHER SIDE WITH FLUFFY EARS, DOOFUS! AND WHO ON EARTH IS THAT?!" Randy yells as an anime angry mark appears on his head in response after witnessing the entire chaos unfold before his shocked eyes. He turns to Oli: "Need some help?" He pulls out his mace and readies an attack should the trooper come close to them.

The crowd continues to panic, some fleeing into the wilderness, most pushing their way through the gate.

All the Probity Corps operating the checkpoint are dead, so no saves x Eyebite.  Keep the spell slot.

"You guys pick a tavern and we can meet inside and get a table and some drinks. It will be out of sight of the patrols and give you a chance to plan your next move."

Trisk motions down the street past the checkpoint to some places inside that might serve the purpose, you are probably too far away to currently make out any names but your guess is that they are taverns.

Tetrevess follows Trisk, still invisible, and accompanies him to the tavern.  As he does, his disembodied voice sojnds nearby-  talking to Trisk, but also hoping rhe others are close-   “Thanks for the assist.  That could have gone better.  Assume you are not a fan of the Thayan rulership.  Enemy of our enemy is a friend, and all that.  Could use a drink.  “.  

Trisk enters the tavern and loudly voices his order.

"Can I get a pitcher of ale, a bottle of wine, and many, many glasses served to a table for my friends and I?"

Positioned on the west side of the well-maintained High Road in the Tharch of Eltabbar behind an aged 10-foot curtain wall sits the sprawling lodge known as The Stone Wizard. It is so named because of the weathered and hoary statue of a mage caught in mid spell cast located in front of the inn. Whether this effigy is merely a well-aged sculpture or the ancient remains of a mage turned to stone in a long-ago spell duel as is commonly rumored, it has become the centerpiece of a well cultivated garden and walk that lead up to the famous inn’s great door.

The building itself is of uncertain age and has been added onto many times over its history. While the wall that surrounds the lodge is sound, the iron gates at the main entrance have not been closed in years.

The Stone Wizard is a widely known and accepted neutral ground and welcomes all visitors who obey the rules. Those rules are simple and only twofold—1) no fighting; and 2) mind your own business.

The rambling building itself is a warren of private dining rooms, secluded booths, and discreet tables

Trisk finds a private table and in due time the libations called for arrive.  

You're approached soon after by a pale complexioned and paunchy man of middle years,

Prim Handor always attempts to dress to impress. His intention is to communicate through his garb that he is a man of refinement, importance, and wealth. In reality, he is none of these things.

"Welcome, traveller's.  Please, allow me to buy you a round of drinks.  May I join you?" He asks, not wanting fir a n answer before sitting down.  Keenly aware of the mounting tension, he speaks plainly, but wirh a wide smile as if speaking to old friends and reveling in find anecdotes, "A mutual friend of ours asked me to find you.  I must say, I have been asked to do more difficult things." Seeing no levity in the faces at the table, he clear hus throat, "a-hrmm. Right, then, to business.  I have somwthig foe you." He reaches into his pocket and removes  a paper packet, setting it on the table. It is roughly 8 × 11 inches and 2 inches thick. It is comprised of some sort of waxy brown paper and bears the seal of Eltabbar. 

"I... I am... never... doing something like this... ever again... against my own accord..." Randy pants desperately once he sees that everyone has finally crossed the border before he springs back up with the anger mark still stuck on his head. "Alright who was the bozo out of you guys who caused this unnecessary stampede?! Who on earth couldn't stay quiet behind the shadows cause it definitely wasn't me! Who was it?! Ethan was it you?! It was wasn't it?! I can see your stupid... Gah! Speak up! Someone!" But his forceful demands were instantly ignored as they all walked past him and uh... Yeah he manages to catch Ethan's grin of relief and figure that he was the one behind all of this...

"YOU GUYS GONNA ANSWER ME?! NO?! UGH FINE! ENJOY YOUR STUPID VICTORY OR SOMETHING!" He yells out as he grabs on to one of Oli's arms with an unnecessary amount of force and drags him to the place they're currently taking refuge in if he hasn't left with the others. "Damn it... let's go bunny boy. The next time Ethan tries to talk to me remind me to stranglehold him for getting us into this chaos!"

"I'll pass, not that they'll serve someone who's considered underage like me anyways. And besides I need air." Randy scowls before he ducks into a couch alll by himself to tinker with whatever gadgets he's working on, specially the ones related to his broken machine.

Tetrevess drops his own invisibility as he enters, and says “The stone wizard.  I like it.  We actually have one of those right now.  Poor Chadderly.  Or Lucky Chadderly.  Not sure which yet. .”.   He settles into a chair and takes a drink of the wine.  “Thanks for helping us out of there.  We didn’t intend to cause so much- umm.. excitement.  Those guarda were better at … err.. guarding than we expected..  I am Tetrevess.”    When the man with the package approaches, he is cautious, but accepts  the package and opens it as he says  “well, thank you.  It is good to be welcomed here, by those on the side of the living.”
