"They must be hiding somewhere." She says after hearing Emelina sigh. "Maybe they´re nearby since Valkas sensed the footsteps?" Gwin then decides to walk just a little bit further through the taller grass and look for any possible hiding spots along the sidewalk leading to the city.

Emelina, through Melly you glide in to take a closer look. The closer you get, the bigger the shine. By the looks of it, it's a small knife; fashioned with a wood handle and a metal blade with a serrated edge. It looks like there's something on it, but you can't tell without landing next to it. 

Gwin, crouching among the bushes and grass at the edge of the park you look on into the rubble. There are many little caves and holes made by pieces of concrete propped up on each other, plus the first floor or two of some of the buildings that stayed standing. You can see manhole covers, under the layer of glass and dust and smaller bits of broken concrete. 

Emelina bids Melly to land and get a closer look at the knife.

Emelina Investigation

Emelina, you bid Melly to land and hop a little closer to the knife, so you can take a good look at it. Upon closer inspection, the “something” on the knife looks red and has a little bit of a gravelly texture. You lean in closer, and you realize it’s a mix of dried blood and rust.

Emelina asks Melly to return to her and she shares the news with her companions "Melly and I did not find any other survivor. We did find a blood encrusted half rusted knife though"

"How much blood? I think that may matter. Blood is an ingredient in spellcraft, alchemy, or perhaps even part of a simple trap for bait. But someone may have been seriously injured. We should continue looking for them. Please, call out. Just once. What if it's a young person?"

Mr Blue is growing more disturbed by the thought as he voices it.

"I still don´t think that´s a good idea." Says Gwin after hearing about the knife. "Even if they´re not dangerous they could have been running from something." Then she thinks for a bit and continues. "Emelina, can you lead us to the knife? Maybe there´s a bloody trail we can follow?"   

"The blood has dried so its been some time. Alright the knife is this way" She then makes her way towards the knife's location

"we are on unknown territory- we need to be careful around here." he reminds the group, following them to the rusted knife. he was still wary, maybe there where bandits nearby. . . when people find themselves in cornered situations - like an apocalypse -, they often turned to violence for survival. because of that, he was with his bow ready, looking at his suroudings

Ainsley follows Emelina and the others to the knife, keeping a close eye on their surroundings in case the knive's owner is nearby

You make your way out of the tree line and across the street to where Melly and Emelina found the knife. It's surrounded by a layer of broken glass that covers the ground---there are buildings nearby so it's easy to assume the glass shards are from broken windows. The sunlight is reflecting off the glass, sending small beams of light everywhere.

Mr Blue looks up at the building.

"In there? Maybe to seek shelter."

"It´s possible.." Says Gwin, following Mr Blue´s line of sight. "Let´s take a look inside. Even if we don´t find anyone, there might still be stuff we can scavenge." She says looking back if the rest of the group agrees.

"Perhaps, but it could be a knife that fell in here due to the destruction of the city. Now how do we proceed. I rather not cut myself on the glass" Emelina looks around to see if there is an alternate path to the knife.

Perception check

While there's no definite path carved out of the ruin, you notice that if you backtrack a little and face the building there's a  less-dangerous path through some bigger chunks of concrete to where the knife lays.

Emelina shares what she found with he companions. "There is another path that looks safer over there."
